This is a rehash of old news. If you follow it all through the rumour about the sale is the one that TenTonHammer picked up that LFG posted back on the 19th April and the estimated player numbers are those generated by Merritt on SilkyVenom, last lot dated 4th April.

yeah that info is pretty old. I doubt that Vanguard has 35k left at this time. Sales of retail boxes have pretty much stopped and with the successful launch of LOTRO the mass exodus is only gaining momentum. Vanguard will be dead before the end of the year. Feel free to quote me on that.

1) We cannot show you facts because Brad himself won't release any, why won't he do that? Your guess is as good as mine but my brain is telling me if the subscription numbers were even half decent he would have shown them by now.
2) VG promised the sun and the moon, they gave us an un-innovative bug filled game to put it bluntly. You might not feel the same but most people arn't going to bother leaving their current mmo for one that fails to do anything out of the ordinary and on top of that has performance and bugs issues that are worse for some and null for others.
If you think VG will survive and gain more players in the coming months then I think you are very optimistic.

If you follow something for five years (and I mean really follow a project) and it turns out to be 10% of what Sigil praised it would have been, you wouldn't be able to let it go either.It's just human nature

Not really, I firmly believe that half of these 'ZOMG VG HAS 35K subs only!!111' are from people who are bored at work and need some entertainment. Because to be honest if its the 'My heart is broken over VG' theory then there truly is a crisis with these people and they should re-evaluate their lives.
Vanguard although the game itself is a total disaster it probably has a tad bit more then 35k subscribers, I bet it's hovering around 100k-150k and it's in decline. One thing I know for sure is that the game is not profitable.
Good Lord, 35K on a game that has only been out for a few months, that is Horrid.

I gotta step in and comment on this whole refrain of "a game wasn't made meant for them".
Why do you need to make it such a personal and condescending point-of-view? Perhaps people had high-hopes for the game, were eager to play and enjoy it and found that it didn't live up to their expectations - which, by what I've seen, seems to be the case for many people. It's not so ego-centric a scenario as you try to paint it - people spent time and ultimately money following and buying a game that really did make some very very very big promises. Brad had been touting it as the "end all to MMOs" and for many, it's fallen far short of that.
It seems that VG's numbers are not as healthy as would have been expected, given the pre-launch hype and, in the post-WoW mmo scene, a new MMO coming out has really got to put up some huge numbers to make waves. VG doesnt' seem to be doing that. So perhaps people' s disdain for the game is justified.
Maybe you need to just learn to accept that some people simply are greatly disappointed with the game and are voicing as such?

The problem is that from what I have read EVERYWHERE, its not the fact that it won't run on 500 dollars systems as you call them, but it wont run right on 3000 dollar systems. I can't post an opinion on the game, but I can state what I have seen from hundreds and hundreds of posts all over this site and many others stating how horrible the game is. Yes, there are those stating it runs great, but if you check closely, and look who posts these comments, they all come from the same group of people and it is a small group of people.
Just like the anti-WOW hate going on, its a laugh. The majority of people the world over say WOW is a good game, and the majority of people have said that Vanguard is a piece of trash.........

That's how bad of a game Vanguard is; people are willing to go out of their way to ensure that fellow consumers won't pay Sigil money for such a crumby, inferior product. Vanguard is Star Wars Galaxies: Part 2, except SWG was actually fun at one point...and it's a cold day in hell when you're inferior to SWG.

What you need is a NASA-level system, since even a good, higher end gaming rig can't run VG flawlessly because their code sucks so bad.
I started with 2GB RAM for my VG trial, then moved up to 4 GB during those ten days, and the game still had haphazard performance. Here's my overall system:

For the most part, I could run Vanguard at the highest graphical settings, and at playable frame rates. However, if I got near several other players, or went into some cities (the Dark Elf one comes to mind here), my FPS dropped dramatically. That's a problem in an MMO. No other game or application on my system gave me the same problems. Only Vanguard.
The game's got major coding issues, and is missing a lot of features that should be standard in games by now. Not every problem with VG can be traced to the user's system. It's got plenty of things wrong with it on its own.

I am going to admit, VG does have bugs. But so far at level 21. I have yet to CTD or die from a bug. Never crash from a chunk, never fell through the world. All the bugs that I have encounter has been stupid things, that I will admit sometimes piss me off. Like not able to see my mailbox,lol. Rechecking the box to see all names, its stuff like this that is broken. Every quest that I started, I was able to finish with no problems. So all your BS about the game, is just BS. I did not play the game at launch so I can not say what happen then, just whats going on now.
I am playing the game fine, and having fun. I see tons of players everywhere. I see tons of diiferant guilds to join. Grouping in VG is easy. The adventure of VG is great, the world is so big and full of stuff to do. This game has so much things to do, you could spend years just playing it has it stands, if they dont dumb it down.
And about your WOW comment, I am glad 8 million players are playing WOW, my question to you is, why in earth name are you here, if WOW is so great, go play your game you like so much, i know i am playing the game that I Iike. I dont have to troll over to the WOW section, I have no need for it, its not design for me.
Remember Britney Spear sold over 10 million copies, does that make her a good singer?

You have a better system then I do, But I say this, I did not play when you played. All my experiance is based on the last two weeks of playing.
The second thing is, VISTA is a hog, I would not touch it if it was free. I like my xp pro with only 130 meg of memory being use, versa Vista over 600k.

With well over 150K box sales, and tons more D2D downloads, there's no way this game is at 35k subscribers. Get a fricken clue. Everyone thinks Vanguard is dead, and I don't get it. Why is there so much hate for this game ? It's a very good game, and finally didn't follow WoW (isn't that what most of us have wanted all along?) Man, I expect this kind of hate for WoW, but not poor Vanguard.
