Lol at you. Keep trying to out argue people or discuss their debating tactics. Doesn't change the fact that the game doesn't have near enough subs to keep it avtive for very long. It's nowhere near profitable, and it most likely won't ever be. Some people (such as yourself) CLEARLY are unable to understand basic econmics.
2 Of the most commonly used escapes on MMORPG.com when someone is killing you in a argument is.
1. Attack the spelling/grammar.
2. Claim they are someone else or using 2 accounts.
Get used to it if you plan on hanging out around here. Its par for the course.
Thanks for the tip Rollo, as I am in awe of your vast experience of a few months at MMORPG.com you have. Its not to hard to spot a fake actually. You can only polish a turd so much. I apologize for the lack of euphamisms.
ANYwhoos getting back on topic, here is a link of the only objective guy who looks at subsciption rates. Good info.

That's kind of funny. Can't really debate something that's made up. Or that neither side can validate.
Can you show factual sub numbers? Can you varify with fact that there aren't enough subs? Can you show any projections that support your claim the game can't turn a profit?
CLEARLY you can since you're so well educated in economics.
I saw a purple elephant; bet you can't prove me wrong.

Looks like VG is in the "other" category unfortunately, without estimates.
USED to be.
Hasn't had accurate data in well over a year. Hasn't updated in almost a year.

yeah when many of us tried to say this game was yet another uninspired MMO that brought nothing new to the table but more timesinks ppl told us 'shutup you WoW noobs'. now that this game is sinking into the pit of hell from which is has spawned there still vanbois hanging until to this sinking ship as it drowns QQing in denial. and if rumor is true and it goes to SoE Austin then i can only wonder how it will burn seeing as how thats the team they took SWG from one of most popular MMOs in history to the barely afloat MMO it is today. if they had any kind of coding skill then surely they';d use their own engine for their next DC comics MMO rather then unreal 3.
also i wonder why all those Devs all riding epic games jock (unreal 3) seeing as how badly Vanguard performs. its no coincedence that game engine runs like a dog with open world enviroments. got a frined working with that tech for a shooter for an open enviroment and their FPS is like tanking below 12fps he says on geforce cards 8800s lol no lie
not to mention all these game devs all rewriting the unreal server network code im just not sure what all these bandwagon devs are thinking. Gears of War is awesome game but they never show more then like 8-10 dudes onscreen theres a reason for this. Now GRAW2 does loook really good but again i think they max out around 16 dudes (not sure). But MMOs shows tons of people onscreen and ev1 knows unreal's dynamic lighting code is just not up to par for large enviroments with 60+ toons onscreen. guess they hoped the wide open terrain would keep ppl from congregating lol
I am not sure on the number of active subscribers... No one is... But what I am sure of, is that Brad's number is higher than the reality. I have to laugh when I think about Vanguard, because I can recall Brad often having a laugh at DDO "Vanguard ain't no DDO, it is succesful"... he would smugly chant to himself.
He got that right, it is an EQ/DnL clone. And Turbine is right now saying "laugh at this Nub McQuaid".

haha seen this coming worst launch in history of any game ever made.
Wow, can you be that stupid? The worst release of all time? Try SWG, or that WWII MMO. Those both had catastrophic releases. And at least Vanguard moved fast to patch the holes, now its pretty much fine to play. SWG was never quite fixed.
you vangaurd fans gotta realize the game is one of the worst games on the market, atleast the SWG was fun at release, i dont think this game will ever recover from that, and vangaurd isnt pretty much fine to play i still have my account open and log on occasionally. so dont kid your self and think its fixed...dumbass
Yup I also played SWG and that was one of the greatest games i played it in its golden era.
RANCOR BUNNIES FTW! DNA gene sampler was beyond great.
I'm really confused. If people love Vanguard so much, why are they here defending and trying to get people to play if it's doing so great.
Why arn't they playing the game and not giving a damn what people think of it?
The majority of people who come here will be players who are annoyed that they've been sold a beta game and are rightly pissed off. This place at this time will be where people come to say how pissed off they are.
Give it six months and when its out of beta, you fanboys can then rally around and defend you're game. Untill then its beta. Deal with it.

Always keep your words soft, in case you have to eat them.
I never understood why people bash games before they've established themselves. Let your gameplay and your subscription count do the talking for you.
Waiting for something fresh to arrive on the MMO scene...

Originally posted by Deathstiny yeah that info is pretty old. I doubt that Vanguard has 35k left at this time. Sales of retail boxes have pretty much stopped and with the successful launch of LOTRO the mass exodus is only gaining momentum. Vanguard will be dead before the end of the year. Feel free to quote me on that.
From what Brad has "actually" said, they had over 100k.
I personally have not noticed a reduction in guild numbers in VG since LOTR, in fact its pretty much status quo (but without the hair and beards).
LOTR is for a different type of player.
With no evidence, this is largely wishful thinking from people who dont like VG and nothing to do with the current state of play.
Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS) Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve

Read Brad's posts again; he never claimed active subscribers. He was very clever about that. He claimed number of sales.
2) VG promised the sun and the moon, they gave us an un-innovative bug filled game to put it bluntly. You might not feel the same but most people arn't going to bother leaving their current mmo for one that fails to do anything out of the ordinary and on top of that has performance and bugs issues that are worse for some and null for others.
This statement right here really hits the nail on the head. Vanguard was very hyped, and under-delivered. It is as simple as that.
This is a recurring trend, and I for one am sick of paying MMO developers for a sub-par product. I understand of course that it is not easy to design a MMO, and I even feel bad for Vanguard's team of developers as I'm sure they're sad to see their work rejected. But in the end they are the ones who screwed up, whether it was due to lack of funding, lack of vision, or lack of talent. And I am in the end quite happy because it raises the bar for MMO developers. They now know that the market is quite competitive, and they must come out with a truly substantial product to capture market share. They can no longer release crap and expect people to eat it up and smile cause there's no other choices. This is nothing but good for the MMO industry.

Yes, and as you can tell, UO, EQ, DAoC, WW2Online, Shadowbane, and SWG are not on that list, because they were fun, Feriic1.
UO bored me. Not fun.
EQ I never played.
DAoC bored me. Not fun.
WW2Online bored me. Not fun.
Shadowbane bored me. Not fun.
SWG, bored me. Not fun.
Dude, my login name is right there, how could you spell it wrong. Oh, oh low brow debate tactic.
hehe
Well, I was responding to your question. Didn't ask your your take, but thanks for the info nonetheless )
gotta have it!
<group hug>
ok enough of that crap lets get back to work!
I don't have a high post count either. Should I be discredited as well?
Not for VG
