I am not sure on the number of active subscribers... No one is... But what I am sure of, is that Brad's number is higher than the reality. I have to laugh when I think about Vanguard, because I can recall Brad often having a laugh at DDO "Vanguard ain't no DDO, it is succesful"... he would smugly chant to himself.
He got that right, it is an EQ/DnL clone. And Turbine is right now saying "laugh at this Nub McQuaid".
LotRO is a fantastic achievement and Turbine should be very happy with what they put together. Just that I like Vanguard better, and probably for lots of the same reasons some people hate it. I won't be able to play until September after my wedding when some of my money will start to be mine again. I'm not subscribed to any MMO right now let alone Vanguard because I don't have a video card that's PCI-E. I just can't resist the unforgiving nature of the world of Telon. One mans pain in the ass is another mans paradise.
I pray to God the future of MMORPG's can afford at least a few high budget titles that at least try for something besides generic quest driven PVE content plowing. I don't want 70 flavours of WoW: that's just me. Isn't there room in the world for everyone to have their MMO?

Trust me in this, after the wedding your money will not start to be yours again. And if you have kids it will get worse. Set yourself free, run like hell before it's too late.
