Game Update: Vanguard is [Mostly] Fixed!

SOE Launches Most Ambitious Improvement To Date
Highlights:
- The performance improvement is the best to date!
- Raiding has now been implemented: (a) zones and (b) environmental raiding!
- The gorgeous port city Khal has been revamped!
- Performance has been optimized with occlusion; reduction in server lag; and UI optimizations, among other things.
- Classes have been enhanced [e.g., Disciples can choose one of two forms: Immortal Jade Dragon or Celestial Tiger ... I think this is what my friend was trying to explain to me].
- And much, much more from crafting and diplomacy enhancements to more Quests and a new, improved, and more intuitive map.

Morale is up. Way up. And I have never been happier with Vanguard.
[My goal is to provide an in-depth view of the update, complete with screen shots. Unfortunately, due to finals, this is the best I can do at least for the time being.]
I am really proud of SOE with this patch. My performance, as I write this, is the best I have ever seen. Vanguard is quite extraordinary when your system performs well.
I hope the "vision" of the game continues to be fulfilled. SOE has really impressed me with its 1) firm stance against hackers and 2) improvements to Vanguard.
SOE is fixing, finishing, and enhancing the game simultaneously. I think I can confidently write that Vanguard is fixed from its premature release. 
EDITED to reflect what were previously unknown but now known performance and serious bug issues, one concerning an inability to communicate. I decided to describe the game as "mostly" fixed as opposed to "almost" or "nearly" fixed to reflect this reality.

After yesterday's patch i nearly called in sick at work today just so that i can stay home and play it.
Why? cause the game runs so smooth now, and for a game as beautiful as Vanguard it is a god sent for it to run smooth, infact i upped my textures and other graphic settings and it still ran smooth!
I too am happy with the effort of the devs with this patch, although i am not high enough level to try out the new Raid content, i am so pleased with the performance of the game and the revamp they did to some of the classes.
I think i may restart my sub to this game, the patch notes on for this update look very nice. I got a level 13 druid i stopped playing some 8 months ago. But i am seriously thinking about restarting.
Have they ever added Meaningfull PVP?
What a misleading title along with so many untruths this thread deserves to be in politics.
First off: VG is not "Fixed". This Game update did very little to address bugs that pre-existed (necro bug, bard server cross-over insta-death bug, the list goes on but I don't wish to drag this response out). Also your title contradicts your last paragraph, one of the two has to go. Something cannot be fixed if it's still in the process of fixing itself.
2nd: "Raiding has now been implemented: (a) zones and (b) environmental raiding!" Sure was, but due to the 3 month old PING ISSUE that players have been complaining about, none of it is playable (unless your guild is the only one on a apw "shard"). Oddly enough, dev said this was fixed, prolly to pacify the playerbase, but unfortunately it was not.
3rd: "Morale is up. Way up." Rofl. I will keep this short. "If anyone thinks morale is up, go check out the official forums." Here's the link .
VG is not fixed. It's still in beta. You are still paying to play beta.
Rationalize/justify all you want to support the game you wanna play, but next time how bout being a little more honest/subjective.
For example: Even though I disagree with you on the above mentioned points, I can agree with you on most of the rest.
This thread screams "Please come to Vanguard! We need joor moneys to stay afloat"!!
I personally wanted to wait till after a few weeks of APW/GU3.2 release to perhaps resub...... sure glad I did. It 's just more of the same. Publishes with tons of bugs that will be fixed on test servers but will go live in say .... "3 weeks".

Hahaha if u listen to some noob that is saying game is not playable coz of 3bugs that can be fixed ....then u should trow all CDs that u have....
Vanguard has improved 300% in last 2months and any1 that is playing the game atm can confirm this....in few more months this game will be one of the best out there....
But I AM not going to wait to start playing THEN....

I never play games based on potential anymore. Too many times I've seen potential and it's ALWAYS wasted.
When they fix ALL of the game stopping bugs I'll return to check it out. Till then my money stays in the bank.

Scoff all you like Branko ..I have played the game and by the sounds of it you haven't , But nvm it will work itself out Vanguard has managed to stay around longer then I thought it would ..but is that because there are so many poeple games hoping ? looking for something worth playing ?

Careful now you may end up playing WoW for a long long time.
Not saying your stance is not justified, as i too have been burnt a lot. but don't get too rigid
I havent?? look at last 3 Screanshoots and then look all my Screanshoots on User galleries....anyway Vanguard is going to stay around much longer then u tought WHY? coz its GREAT game....
By the time something worth playing comes out Vanguard will be fixed 100% and no1 will care for other...

Thats a rather unusal way of looking at things Branko, there are quite a few good games coming out soon , do you really think the small player base that is in VG will survive when the game hoping players will go else where ? WTG

Well, people enjoy Vanguard for what it is, and to tell the truth, playing today I dont experience more bugs than I experience in games like EQ2 or any other MMO, maybe it is just not your cup of tea, but it is the most immersive and deep fantasy pve MMO on the market, and even the upcoming ones wont have the good details Vanguard have.
A lot of today criticism about Vanguard is just a bunch of cliches ( like the SOE is evil one ), most of people that have the same reaction you have about Vanguard just dont know how the game is today, or just dont like a deeper but not easy gaming experience, or just dont like the lore.
The performance is pretty good now and there is a lot of content ( content that really works ), those are the only real issues at the release, the other things like deep combat, classes, lore, artistc concept are things you can like or not, but if you dont like it is a mistake to think the game is not good, it is the same thing if I say, well, WoW is a crap game just becouse it is not for me....
I know, for a lot of people it is cool to say WoW is for kids, SoE is evil and Vanguard is in eternal beta... but , well, these things are not exacly the truth...
And Yes, Vanguard is fixed, the game can get even bigger and better ( as any other MMO ) but it is for sure not broken... and the new update is pretty good, not only in the big picture ( new Khal, Raids ), but even in the minor details like the new map.
Why you even read posts in this section of the forum is beyond me!
Since you have given up on the game, or are you not 100% sure yet?
Thank you for your input Derbischof.. though I have to admit I'm puzzeled as to why you singled my post out from the rest since it had nothing to do with your own ..but hey its a free world and your allowed your opinions . I dont dislike VG and I repeat I played it , whether it is for me or not is not for you to judge... not once have I said it was a bad game I just do not like the amount of bugs and half fixes that have been passed off as complete on that game .
Vulture I have to admit to a certain wish to see that game live..I enjoyed playing it right up until I could play no more . I loved the crafting in it , the gathering was actuall gathering you chopped trees not little logs on the ground ..etc yes I watch this and read the post to see if anything new has happened and if it was really any different I would buy the game again (also have the added advantage of a friend who still struggles with it ) but so far its the same even before mentioned friend says that and she loves everything about the game .
Im not telling you what is for you and what is not, Im just trying to tell the game is not half fixed now, Im not telling you must play or love the game , you can chose to never play it again, but the aspects you expressed about the game are not real today.
Some critics people made about Vanguard here are not the truth about the game anymore. I only get one bug, a minor quest issue that was fixed 2 hours later by a GM , you see in other MMOS I never got a so efficiet answer for a petition.
Some people dont like the combat, some others dont like the lore or the universe, but the Vanguard is broken or is in beta arguments are not valid anymore.
Anyone that likes the art, concept, gameplay of the game, or just want something deeper and more expressive than lotro, wow ,eq2 or even the upcoming ones ( the main focus on them are not a deeper PVE experience, even the bigger ones, aoc and war have different concepts than Vanguard, so I really dont think people that enjoys Vanguard will stop playing it after the new releases) would like to come back and experience the changes and the new update.
To me VG is doing it for me, there is something about EQ2 that just doesnt sit right with me, so i am more or less stuck with VG as there is not much out there apart from LOTROL which i don't like much either.
I only started playing VG last month and i found little or no bugs and really liked it.
Last night after the patch the performance improved tremendously, and performance goes a long way in improving the overall experience.
Please excuse me for not stating this before or more clearly , I am up to date on the game , I myself havent played it for a while (a very long while ) but in order to talk to my friend I have to sit and watch her struggle with it ... to me and you will please once again have to excuse me for daring to have an opinion it hasnt changed one bit . But I repeat I have no hate for the game , neither do I have any problem to the different aspects of the game ..I just do not like the half fixes and bugs still inherint in the game play available..so if that seems I am saying anything other then what I've typed then so be it
yes Vulture that is exactly what I'm saying, I'm pleased you are enjoying the game .I am waiting for a game that will capture my attention.I am sick of the old style games that are being massed produced but that isnt to say they are worthless everyone likes different aspects of a game.

I think the people that made Vanguard hired people to talk "good" about the game and how good it has become and post it on the forums pure speculation but one starts to wonder when all you see on the forums is :

VANGUARD yadda yadda !
I read the mmorpg forums alot and everyday. Feels more like the people writing these post want to have more people on the servers. And want to tell everyone .. EVERY DAY how good this game is now..
BTW SoE listen to beta testers more and dont release a game with 1000s of buggs and make people PAY to find your buggs in final version.
On the other side of the coin you have people coming on saying that the game is still broken as it was at release. FFS there was a poll about Helmets, whatever has that minor detail got to do with the state of the actual game play!!
I put my hand up and try and promote the game to get more people to play it , as i would like to see more people on the servers!!!
I want people to know that the game is worth playing and is fun.
And I can sleep easy if someone decides to play the game based on my recommendation.
The game is not 100% but what game is?
There is enough there to enjoy the game for many hours on end and if the patches that SOE have released so far are anything to go by then the game will just get better and better quickly.
This game has what i want, a different take on classes, beautiful graphics, aimed at a mature audience, a lot of depth etc etc.
There is no other game out there that "i" enjoy more.
And i want more people to play this game and will continue to promote it as long as people come on here to slag it off.
