Its not a matter of WAR this and WoW that, its a matter of FACT's: FACT - Vast majority of players are tired of the same level based grind fest, kill X and rinse repeat Y amount of times before you may proceed. FACT - The majority of WoW player base WILL NOT leave their fully developed characters just to start another level based grind all over again. FACT - WAR lacks innovation and creativity, the vast majority of players want something new, not the same fantasy setting killing animals for X amount of times just to advance in levels. FACT - The MMO market is starting to realize the lack of innovation and creativity and some of the new upcoming titles are proof, This will make WAR and any other WoW cookie-cut level based clone a short lived shelf life! Im sure all the Warhammer fanbui's will enjoy the game, but to fill your mind with pure fantasies about how WAR is the next WoW killer is not only ridiculous but naive. Although i applaud your "faith" the fact of the matter is, WAR wil not make much of a dent in an already dull and boaring genre that the fantasy MMO has become!
I couldn't agree more. There is no innovation in any of the hot and new MMORPG's. I'm tired of this fantasy hack and slash bull crap. I don't understand how any of it is fun? Are people really this naive in seeing that WoW, Warhammer, LoTRO, AoC, etc. are all the same fricken game!? These companies are ridiculous too.
What I want to know is how come gta games have crazy and involved quests with relation to plot, yet most mmos have very few quests like that? Like here's a typical gta mission:
-Danny has been shortchanging Ralf on drug money, Danny wants you to sneak into Ralf's mansion and find the safe where he hides his money, blow up the safe, take the money, sneak back out the mansion, and make it back to Danny without the cops following you. Oh and to sneak into the mansion you need to attack a janitor and steal his clothes.
A typical mmo quest:
-Mrs. Silverstar is baking a pie and those durn wolves have been stealing her spices(wtf kind of wolf steals spices...), please go kill 50 wolves and bring back a jar of spices.
Seriously, why can't mmos have more cool quests like GTA that are real involved and can have lots of relation to the plot and at least try to make sense? Why on Earth would a hero in charge of saving the world have people demanding they kill sewer rats and wolves to retrieve crap like spices and candy and pasta sauces and beer? This isn't an attack on WAR(from what I heard WAR quests at least make sense and flow with the story), but just these bad mmo quests in general. Why can't we sneak into castles and shacks and steal items from people and kill guards and or ride getaway horses for criminals or vigilantes or something instead of slaughtering squirrels cuz one supposedly stole some guy's socks?
