Winning useless wars and spending our country's way into the most expensive debt ever. Awesome.
He is going for the women Hillary supporters who are not in touch with Obama. Doing this is a smart move because it shows that hes taking a risk. Hes also old and could die which would leave the first women president this women other then Hillary. Could you imagine that LOL!! He would need to get elected first but I see this race to close to say Obama has it in the bag yet.

I just had to ring on this and give a big LOL. Wiki something for a credible source? You have got to be kidding.
Really? Youd be surprised. Wiki is a VERY credible resource because it takes information from all possible creditable sources and compiles them in a nonbiased manner.
The only reason wiki gets a bad rep is because anyone can edit their pages, but the catch is that it is heavily administrated and monitered, and therefore you cant put random BS in there like "I am God.".

Wiki isn't that credible pal. Ask anyone in the academic field and they'll tell just how "credible" it is. In some ways it's a good place to start a search for information but not used as ta primary source of information. Being heavily administrated and monitored is not the same as being certified and validated.

Thats not true. They say you cannot use it as a source in research papers, term papers, etc. I can never use wiki as a source in such reports, because it isnt certified. However, after talking to my professors at college, most of them agree that wiki is a "credible" source, as the information is accurate on there and is DRAWN FROM CREDIBLE, CERTIFIED sources. Theres a reason why most of the information on wiki is true; because it is.

Economics fail.
Jobs are created through increasing demand for products. No demand, no investors.
Investors are more than just the rich, they are the pension funds, the working class stiff's 401K, mutual funds, the central asian banks, and your aging Aunt Gertie's savings account.
In short, jobs are created by investment, and each and every one of us is an investor in some degree.
We work, we earn money, we are supposed to save some of it, and we are supposed to consume to generate market demand which is met with further investment. It is a continuous cycle, simliar to what comes first, the chicken or the egg.
Don't ignore the economical effect on job creation and consumption by including more players in the economic pie, and baking a larger pie. Those economic players are the middle class. Living on the brink of poverty is survival, not a growing economy. Capital is not finite, to be accumulated by a few at the expense of the many. That is not the American Economic Model.
Originally posted by Teala Tell me one thing Obama has done that qualifies him to be a president?
How about he ran a very good primary campaign.
Look, if someone would have told you one year ago that Barack Obama would beat out Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination for President, would you have believed it?
Point one. Just because Obama says "Blah blah blah....alternative fuels...blah blah blah" doesn't mean he knows the first damned thing about the subject. Also, as with every other piece of bullshit he spews forth he does not claim how he will do it, only that he will do it. Yeah lets drill for oil lets keep the oil companies 12billion dollar Quartars rolling in. Lets not drill and have 10 dollar a gallon gasoline Point two. How is it desperation? He chose who he believed to be the best candidate. If the pick was a black you would say he is trying to appeal to black voters - same if the vp pick was gay, Indian, Native American, Muslim, etc. There is always a nutjob theory from the democrats. No he picks a canidate that is a dang Governor of ALASKA. She governs maybe 100,000 people whoopti doo. He wants the female vote its all over his ad when he slams barrack for not picking her. You make no sense and u only want the country to become a Rich and Poor nation nothing in between. Nothing stopped Obama from choosing Hillary now did it?
It isn't a "smart" choice(or at least we don't know if it is or isn't yet), it certainly wasn't a well thought-out choice. It was a choice of desperation pure and simple. He had to shake things up, he absolutely had to, and so he did. It was really his "only" choice. Honestly I don't have anything against her experience. However, I do have issues with her character and her ability to lead. Any candids of her make her appear to be shy, un-sure, and a little over her head. Again, nothing to do with experience, more to do with the way she carries herself on such a large stage and in such important matters. I also take strong issue with her stance on abortion. Normally the issue doesn't mean much to me, and if she was pro-choice or very anti-choice I wouldn't think twice about the issue. What I don't approve of is the fact that she is so anti-choice she would do anything in her power to make abortions illegal(on a federal level) even in the cases of rape or incest. This isn't smear or Rhetoric coming from the left, this is her proud stance. She'll repeat this over and over. She'll say the woman or the 15 year old girl doesn't have to keep the child her father forced on her when he raped her, but she has to carry it for 9 months. She has to go to school every day and face her fellow students every day for 9 months. She has to go through major emotional or physical changes every day for 9 months because it is the law. Yes this is an extreme scenario. Yes it only happens probably a dozen times a year in this country(reported at least). But when this lady won't even skip a beat in saying "No excuses, its the rule of my God!" she doesn't deserve to be Governor let alone Vice President or god Forbid President.
Abortion is at the very bottom of the important issues for me. But this is more about this woman's character than about her religious beliefs or her stance on the issues. I am positive that even if she found herself somehow as president, and even if she was able to put two or three Supreme Court Judges on the bench during this time: the congress, the people, and even the now-stacked Supreme Court would never let it go this far. So I don't fear her stance on the issues, I just have any confidence or respect for her as a person.
I don't get the desperation talk. He was leading Obama in the polls by like 5 points a week or two ago. They where expecting Obama to get a bump from his speech yesterday, but this announcement kind of took the wind out of his sails, imo.
And if there's any question about how much this pick has energized McCain's campaign, just compare how many posts this thread is getting as opposed to the two posted last week about Joe Biden being Obama's VP pick.
As for me, my mind is made up. I'm voting for Palin. Oops, I mean McCain.
Didn't Bill Clinton get in trouble for tapping a young woman?
Yeah, I was thinking "tapped" might not be the best word to describe McCain's pick. But since you mentioned Mr. Bill...after seeing Sarah Palin, I wouldn't be surprised if he is angling to find a way to get back into the Whitehouse should McCain get elected. I can see it now, a late night call to the Oval Office - "Hey John, this is Bill Clinton, you know I was thinking, I'd be happy to give you some advice on International policy. You never can have too many advisors. Oh and by the way, why don't you invite Vice-president Palin join me, ugh, I mean us. After all, she is just a heartbeat away from your job. I'm sure I could teach her a thing or two as well."
Uhh, don't people understand how speculators work? They put the price on oil based on what the supply will be in the future. Due to China and India starting to boom in technology and potentially using more gas, combined with the multiple hurricanes we were hit with last year, they have decided it would be best to increase the price since in the future there may be less oil. By drilling now and building a new refinery that turns it around since in the future there will be a surplus.
I agree that drilling isn't the only solution but if we don't then we will be paying $5+/gallon for 30 years gambling on alternative fuels. I don't think people are convinced on fuel cell yet because it has been tested under reality for only a short while. It may have a devastating effect on life much like Ethanol had.
Also we didn't spend $1 trillion on the war. We spent $1 trillion on our military, the single biggest entity in the US giving jobs and contracts to 1/3rd the working population and is at the forefront of technology. The war costs were included in that spending. However, its spun like its all on Iraq.
I am surprised it took so long for Bill Clinton to tap an aide in the white house. This considering he was tapping women as the Governer of Arkansas.

You sound like you are opposed to living in an Amish paradise.....
At least she is pleasing the religious right, she wants creationism taught in schools.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
I am still voting for McCain over Obama, and I hope that his gut choice for VP will turn out to be a good one. She is a good speaker and is very appealing to the middle ( and maybe lower) class suburban family.
It is nice to have someone "normal" in the running, all of these stuck up old male politicians are irritating.
McCain - Palin 08, Lets hope we see that on Dec 1.
