I'm currently working for a company which makes security products. From my colleagues who have been there since the company's grounding over 15 years ago I've heared about time, when in the past, when they had about 15 developers and have been developing next version of their product from scratch, they had been working on last two months of development cycle... for two years. Enthusiastically, during weekends... and for two years. And they were telling their boss that "it will be only two months, we swear, it is nearly done".
Development process is very difficult; those who do not do programming can hardly understand how complicated things start to get when many people work on a program for few years. Especially in smaller companies which do not have strong processes in place. Trust me with this, I'm currently past my deadline and that last 10% is a damn big chunk

If you were smart IF I wouldn't be crowing so hard till actual players get their hands on DF.

AoC lied by marketing features and saying it was in game, only to have it not in game.
DF saying there will be an update next week and not getting it till later is missing a deadline. DF giving beta invites then admitting they arent ready for it, is missing a deadline or making a development mistake. It is not lieing.
I wouldn't call that missing deadlines I'd call that misleading in a effort to drum up hype. If you don't think misrepresenting yourself is lying that is your choice.
DF features have yet to be touched by actual players. Crowing about DFs features that have yet to be touch will make the fanbois look really stupid if it does pull a AoC.
If you want to rose color that glass that is your choice to possible set yourself up. I have 0 faith in these developers.

Darkfall Developers havent lied to there fans, its something thats been made up by nay-sayers and haters to miscredit them. I asked for quotes of Darkfall developers lying to there fans and still i havent seen one.
Who cares about developers quotes from years ago anymore, they have all been provided many times over the years, if you don’t think they were lies or at least dishonest or misleading that’s fine, I do.
I think it would be rather redundant to continue to argue about things from years ago when they have officially committed themselves to starting beta and launching by the end of this year.
They have less then 4 months left, thats if they are planning to launch on the 31st of December.
After waiting for over 7 years, we will finally find out if they have or have not been lying sometime in the next 4 months.
I hope they have not, but I wont exactly be surprised if they have been.
But if they fail to meet this deadline, and I genuinely hope they will meet it, you can be rest assured I and many other people will be rubbing your nose in it by posting all the relevant and numerous quotes from Tasos about their official beta and launch schedule for this year, and present them to you as evidence of what I think constitutes lying.
And I’m quite sure you will still be claiming they were not all lies but where missed deadlines and development mistakes.
So don’t you think its best to just wait at least till beta and release starts some time “soon” over the next 4 months, and you have actually played Darkfall yourself before claiming the developers of Darkfall have definitely not lied ever, especially considering their past history and the claims they have made.

The 17 min video is precisely a marketing exercise showing game features, and the developers have been saying what’s in the game for years, so just like AOC or any other game, we will not know the truth about Darkfall until beta and then launch.

Just to say more, I'm tired of people who make it sound like giving no proof whatsoever is good. Just because AoC showed what wasn't in the game, who is to say DF will do the same? At least we know that AoC is working on it...but as for DF, we really don't know.
Showing videos isn't what brought AoC down, it was the lies and hype. Showing videos of what would/is in the game is NOT what brought them down.
Stop making it sound like PR is bad; that's rediculous. Every game needs PR (I don't care which way you try to spin it, PR is important four months from release) and without it DF won't become nearly as popular as you would hope.
So go on, keep saying that videos are bad, keep saying they should keep things a secret; it's only your point of view. Some of us who want to, but can't, believe some of the great claims made by Aventurine want them to be PROVEN .
Just stop saying that PR is bad...Proving features is a good thing if you can actually implement them in game (which we have no proof that DF can).
