If a PBS system gets put in place, you can count on it. Hopefully that's another lesson for companies to learn:You can't create an alpha class that's forced PVP and expect it to work.

The better lesson to take from that situation was "Never underestimate people's ability to whine when they lose".

Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
    Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
    Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
    Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

Well I think casual Star Wars fans and mmorpg fans will be worried about the geeks. I know some of the hardcore mmorpgs who mostly pvp and havent picked up a SW book are worried that people will be standing around town roleplaying.

I  am in the middle. I love Star Wars, love mmorpgs, but I'm not the hardcore mmo guy on vent everyday and I don't dress up and go to Star Wars conventions. I have read a couple SW books and I am currently reading more and I raid/pvp and use vent a couple times a week.

    No doubt Abe,

Your wittle man-child arse has been whining since we started receiving information pertaining to TOR. I understand your sex life revolves around those mangina ents, but you still have your pure sandbox in Second Life to get ya some "action".

Show some spine, and quite whining already. Listening to your mini-adult arse call out others is the epitome of pot/kettle.

Also, while you are at it, you can take your arse to a forum dedicated to sandbox gaming as well. All you are doing here is attempting to stir chit, since you didnt get SWG2. It will be nice when your maturity level actually matches your age. That way you can realize something isnt intened for you, or that you wont enjoy it. So rather than howling at the moon, you can spare everyone else, and just go find something that does tickle your fancy to talk about.

Until such time I suppose we can point, and laugh at a man-child that wont quit whining about getting their way. This is read "You need to STFU already, as we see your nerdrage for what it is."

They are speaking nothing but truth, I have said the same thing to Abe about his "my way or the highway" attitude.

Yes it is wrong for those of you raging nerdroids to continue to fail to see this game is not for you. Just because it has Star Wars as the main theme does not mean it has to appeal to your intrest. At the same time it means you should move on and stop 'crying' about it. So let me ask this, is it so wrong for there to be a Star Wars game for us, does it have to always be up to you jackasses to decide if its good? Nope, move along sir.

Yet it is mature to kick your feet over a game for over 3 yrs?

THEN...I repeat THEN when you find out that the game you missed, the one you put your hopes into being made by another company was naught but a stupid fracking idea...what does one do?

Well this one(Abe), has taken it upon himself to troll this forum. Sad cause his wittle nerd world is gone.

Which if I am not mistaken is your story as well numnutz.

So before you talk some chit, about those of us saying his sandbox talk doesnt belong here, why dont you kindly remove your head from your arse, and realize this isnt a sandbox game. Thus the BS isnt needed.

This forum is about SW:TOR...not SWG2

As I have said before, those forums are that way ---->

And any peckerhead that doesnt care to play nice here is fair game AFAIAC.  Say I am not mature...that is fine. I say I am sick to death of hearing the same things repeated ad naeseum....and I am not the only one.

SWG PRECioUs is gone, and that beotch of a girlfriend isnt coming back. Either get over it or not...doesnt matter. What does matter is everytime a sick frack mentions her here, they need to be reminded what a skank they had, and GTFO while they are at it.

To which I say if you are on wavelengths with Abe, then you need to go as well. MMORPG.com needs to put a stop to the pricks who wont shut up about sandboxes....especially in forums of games not predicated on it. You guys are like certain religious nutz that are always knocking at the door. And until you quit "knocking", then expect to have the "door" slammed in your face.

Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget.

I'd like to add that we ARE people who want good games. That's why I want this game to be more like KOTOR and less like SWG. Bioware should make the type of game that THEY do best, and SWG is NOT what they do best. (Thank God for that). KOTOR was NOT a game about grinding Bols and hanging around all day in the cantina. It was a story based game with many choices and outcomes that had an actual purpose and they are trying to be different by bringing that type of game into the MMORPG genre. Personally I think that's more daring and inovative than recycling  a game that has already failed.

Telling them that we want a game like KOTOR and not like SWG will not work with them. They are either to stupid or childish to get the difference. Actually I'm starting to think they are both.

Yeah, I know it's blasphemy and heretics to dare to say that but what the hell? If we substituted religion for SWG observers would think this was a discussion ripped straight from the dark ages.

LOL. Yeah there are similiar nutjobs who think of Star Trek like it's the gospel to life. Stop by any discussion on the next movie and you will see what  I mean. I've called them wackos as well. I'm very consistent that way ;)

William Shatner said "Get a life will you people? For crying out loud, it's just a T.V show"

For these SWG nuts I say "Get a life will you people? For crying out loud, it's just a game"

    KOTOR = single player

    SWG = MMO

Let's see, I want this MMO to be a good MMO, therefore it shouldn't be the same as KotOR.

Why are you even on MMORPG.com if you clearly think its a good idea to start paying subscription fees or buy items from a cash shop for a SINGLE PLAYER game?

So a few things, since like 5 of you responded to me.

First of all, I have this avatar because I like the picture (I haven't even played Force Unleashed)...and ya, you have a Star Trek avatar (and then you go and call them fanatical nuts).

Real mature Mr. I'm So Mature I Want To Pay A Subscription For A Single Player Game.

Second of all, I haven't even mentioned SWG.  When have you ever seen me crying about SWG?  I want this to be a good MMO, aka: more like EQ or UO or SWG or AC etc.  I don't even know why you people are on this site if you clearly don't like MMOs.

Finally, this is a public forum, is it not?  You are saying that Abe is being a "my way or the highway", yet you are saying, "Like it or leave."  Makes sense...about as much as why this game is an MMO instead of a single player game.  There are those of us who want to see PLAYER FREEDOM in MMOs.  If you see this as "trying to force a play style on others"....well, it's clear that you began MMOs at WoW then.  Advocating multiple playstyles is actually the opposite of oppresive, linear, binary design.  It is all of you "Who wants to be Uncle Owen (damn nerdS!!!1111one) when you can be Luke Skywalker!!!! lightsaber GO! swoosh swoooosh!!11"

I know there is going to be so much complaining a month after this game releases - I'd like to play my (extremely miniscule) role in trying to make this game and genre better, not run-of-the-mill shovelware.

I am excited to see how this game pans out. I really excited how the story arcs and how classes and factions co-exsist.

Sure it will be buggy and have glitches. Just usual in a mmo of any calibar.

However, some of the posts have me wondering about some of you people(s) mental state...all i'm going to say.

In the end def looking forward to this game for the said above reasons and plus I love the kotor time-line and hopefully this will give us some type of closure for that saga and new beginning for this one.

I don't like the idea of one Jedi/Sith per server, but I understand hundreds of Jedi/Sith would be ridiculous. Perhaps give all players the option to create a jedi, however upon defeat a jedi would be killed (for good, unless brought back through some type of res). Put a cooldown in place, maybe two days or maybe even a full week. It would definitely cut down on the Jedi/Sith population and promote grouping with your allied Jedi/Sith to protect them as they grow in power.

I think the best option would be to allow all players to create a Jedi/Sith from the start, but upon defeat there would be a 12 or 24 hour period until you could play again as your jedi. Your character would not be deleted, only in a recovery state from being defeated (i.e. Luke gets defeated by Vader, he has to take time to recooperate and heal). Introducing a death penalty as such would keep the Jedi/Sith population down, and prevent players from becoming upset over character deletion on death.

If you care about making this game better then you should make your voice heard on the actual site where developers can see it.. And don't sit here and pretend that you haven't been hostile. You can't stand anyone who disagrees with you and go out of your way to insult them every chance you get. So don't get your panties in a bunch when some of us bite back.

Not going to happen.  This is a game for the masses not for the hardcore Star Wars fans.  Also, why is everyone assuming that Jedi/Sith are the end all be all?  Jedi and Sith are no immortal nor are they all powerful beings.  Sure there are incredibly powerful Jedi and Sith but they are rare and far between.

    It's a Jeep thing. . .

Hundreds of jedi and Sith make perfecct sense in the time frame this game is set in. Therefore restrictions or caps on jedi would be going against the IP. And this might suprise some of you, but not everyone wants to be a jedi (raises hand)so I wouldn't worry too much about jedi filled servers.

Obviously you don't understand. I said a game LIKE KOTOR. Kotor was already a game so its self explainatory I want a MMO game like KOTOR.

    Kotor = Old republic Era

SWG = Empire Era with jedi everywhere for unexplained reasons.

Why are you even on MMORPG.com if you clearly think it's a good idea for every game to be the same.

Here let me hand you the link www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php Here you can make all your suggestions for the game. I'm sure they will be shot down. But its worth a try.

As for my second highlighted remark. Do you know how many people was pissed about not getting a WC4 when WoW was announced. They was pissed about it not being a RTS. Look at the game now, I would say its doing rather well.
