I'm gonna laugh when the outrage hits over this game.
I see what this game is.
the anger is gonna be epic....
over instanced, cartoonish, theme park, boring crap.
I can't wait for the shit to hit the fan.
I am guessing there will be a lot of outrage. . and loud complaining and people screaming about the death of the genre. . I am also guessing there will be a lot of people who play it who are . . . well a lot younger than me <---likley will not like the game.
If they have to pick fans over a larger playerbase they will pick the larger player base and hope that they get some fans as well. And honestly someone like me is not likely to play for too long anyway. How long can a company continue to market to the original StarWars fans. . I am 36 and expect to be playing games for a long time to come. . but not as much as a 20 year old.
Its like an old geezer telling kids how much their music sucks. . or how washed out he sound is when it is compressed. . how they should listen to a symphony to hear all the rich tones. . .
Kids want fast cheap easy cake. .and starwars has become a twinkie.
The game looks a little bad graphically (character models only, sceneries look great), but as long as it doesn't look like gutter trash, who cares? Only thing I'm worried about right now is the combat system, as it looks kinda rigid and not fluid. Also, the PvP...wondering what that'll be like.
They took Star Wars, put cartoon graphics and then watered down the Star Wars look even more.
If it doesn't look like / resemble this, then it isn't Star Wars to me. ( And why would you want to change the Star Wars Image / Style anyway, it's the perfect look for it's setting regardless. ) Now that we're in a next-gen graphics era, for them to make it cartoony is a major let down.
I could understand if they made something similar to Super Star Wars for the Super Nintendo with next-gen graphics, but instead we get this cartoony, watered down garbage.

You mean when Jestor and the rest of the nutjobs at lunat...errr mmofringe do what they have been doing for the past five years? Yeah that will be new and exciting. /smirk
This sword here at my side dont act the way it should Keeps calling me its master, but I feel like its slave Hauling me faster and faster to an early, early grave And it howls! it howls like hell!
Doesn't matter to me, I refuse to play another mmorpg based on the Star Wars IP. My idealized version of the world from watching it as a kid is still intact and no creator of video games could ever match it. Just being honest. Sony almost killed it for me with SWG.
A man or "gamer" should look for what is, and not for what he thinks should be.
Almost. Hope I'm not breaking it to ya, but, umm, SWG is dead.
Since AoC is crap to me, and anything by Funcom is nothing more than broke, I'm looking forward to a studio that can actually deliver on a game, particularly SWTOR; Bioware.
I wonder how great some will think the BW eye-candy is when their characters run into those invisible walls and restricted travel paths that BW loves to put in their games. I don't care how pretty the background is if it isn't explorable.

like youl play a mmo based on the graphics... sure eye candy is sweet but it alone wont keep you for long. I care more about the story, voice acting and end game. As for graphics being un-star-wars-ish.. isnt there some animated SW series on TV? Anyway Il drink to Lucas & CO. selling out the IP a long time ago.

That or the day the other side is wrong. Silently disapear into the night returning the following day on new accounts trying to forget how incredibly wrong they really were while bashing the next so called "fail" game in hopes that they might finally be correct this time.
That just is not true . More detail means more workload on your PC. The length of the code to activate an action will be the same. The graphics and executable will all be held locally on your PC.
More items in the environment = more lag / More people in the environment = more lag. But more detailed graphics just nails your PC nothing to do with the network latency.

TOR is like a slighty more detailed and smooth looking WoW with star wars characters.
Edit: I am not talking about anything more than graphics when I make the comparison to WoW btw.

So did Lucas.
At least Bioware had a good story behind it.
Well said.

Phew. Glad the weeding out of the deranged is starting early.

Agreed. Nothing more to be said.
