The whole point of give aways such as this, is to bring in new traffic. I remember that mmolecule or whatever it was, had 1000? or 500? AoC keys. Needless to say, it was just people got picked randomly. So people created tons of accounts to win, and win they did. The way they did it was terrible. This way is slightly better.
It favors those who are on here at the random time, who get lucky with the couple thousand people spamming refresh, and can post if the site allows.
I do dislike that people who JUST registered this week are allowed to get the keys, and it seems about 75% or more is just that. And these are not people who will use this website, they just made one post to get the key, and we never see them again.
Well by the time it showed up on the front page under 'News' there were already 200-300 posts. It probably took 1-2 minutes to hit over the 300 mark. I noticed the delay between the news forum and the main page earlier today so I just refreshed that. I ignored the main page.
I guess there could be enough people refreshing it to make it seem like bots, and that is cool. Maybe just mass hype and a crapload of people.
I came off a bit angry, and i'm not so sorry about that in OP. Just think it's a bit ridiculous. Usually sites reward membership or have some way of curbing things like this. After day 1 of people finding out that no posts and a new user could come back day after day brought in the crowds when all the other sites who got to give out 500 keys did it in one surprise post.
Whatever though, just saying it is a bit off.
Anyone who thinks they can check in every hour or twenty minutes or even five minutes shouldn't get their hopes up. This was what happened to me when I happened to check 3 seconds after it went up.
Hey for a guy who's been here since 03 and had close to 3K posts, you deserve a key. They should just give you one because you've been around so long and theres a record of you coming back willingly! Understand that willingly is the key word here.
I tried getting one too but I'm not so disappointed if I don't get in. Especially with the crazy amount of people we've seen...
I guess that getting the error: deadlock must be situational. It locked me out, but not tons of other people. Seems like there aren't bots just a f load of people.

Who's to say who is a bot, perhaps your seeing alot of veteran members create new accounts to enhance their chances of winning, which yes is unfair but obviously not against the policy of this site otherwise they would have lost their VIP ticker win.
So it's a case of grin and bear it and either wait for another round of tickets to go up or wait on the release to try out the game, no need to lose any sleep over it though .

And i was, just like you, waiting for the thing to begin.
I had the time to click on "reply", and type :
"I would like to have one of those please"
But the answer was : The subject you're looking for has been locked or moved ...
I hate those idiots who are proud of having grab 5 or 7 keys as i've read so they can sell them at 40 to 60 $ on the net.
I am starting to be angry against TRION for not being able to manage a real beta, but they truly have a wonderfull success awaking low instincts of greedy "gamers".
Still hoping to have one of those, but really getting upset.
