Theres always a backup plan pay your $19 for the year and get your beta key from ten ton hammer and maybe you'll get into some other upcoming betas also like tera and sw-tor.
I'm not a bot either and managed it, though for as quick as I was.. I was a bit surprised how far down the list i ended up.
I understand high post count members dislike members like me with one post count, but... I have visited this site very often as a non member always reading the articles and watching for new mmos; it just so happens I prefer to post on the game forums usually and have never had the need to be a member of this forum until now.
I don't feel that I'm an evil person for finally getting around to creating an account because of this key giveaway
This is just lame, I agree 90% of these posts are botters. I am done with this lame ars site never win any contests in 5+ years and i cannot even get a beta key.
If he was first on both days that would be suspect to me. They say in the description to only post once making it seem like they want each person to only have one. I would wonder how he knows when to post.
I was sitting here spamming my F5 key since 2:55pm and when they posted it around 3:30 by the time I click comment and posted a quick comment I was already way down. I loaded the comments up and counted down from the top and I am 71 so I hope that means I get one. I just don't see how someone could be first two days in a row. Even if you knew when it was going to be posted there were 70 posts that got in before it took my internet time to load the comment page and then post a comment.
Funny thing is, for everyone complaining how ridiculous this contest was, if you had won a key you wouldn't be complaining would you? I myself have had my account for a couple of years but have never posted anything because all the posts I read were people complaining or bashing other people over this game or that. And you people just continue to enforce my opinion.
With luck they will give the keys to the first 100 that didnt got on yesterday, cleaning the mess, and not allowing to be 2 keys for on person.
But it was funny seing ther was almost 700 person online from 8pm gmt / 3est and in the moment the news come th page completly freezes. i refreshed it from 8:20 only got to open the page at 8:25 could make my thread at 8:27, and it only was posted at 8:30 it was amazing.
When i looked at th online count, there was the same almost 700, never saw the site go so slow like this moment :P

[object Window] hacks! Burn him alive! Haha just playing.
Even if I was #99 or had a key from an event, or had a friend that got a VIP key a while ago I would still make the same post. Ridiculous is as ridiculous does... never understood that.
I was listening to music, with a Monster Energy Can and a cigarrette spamming F5 til I saw it. I posted almost INSTANT. My Firefox got frozen and afterwards my post was #47. I mean, a lot of people was waiting for it and I've been really lucky. But yeah, it has been so hard to be almost an hour (I was from 2.30 EST) spaming F5 here, the Rift Facebook and the Rift Twiter in order to get one. But finally it's done and I'm really sorry for those who havn't got one yet, because I had the same issue the first 2 days.

Haha nice work man. You definitely deserve one. I guess it would have been too lucky for me to get one with what you put in. Enjoy!

Hahaha.
However,i thought they were going to make everyone wait 2 hours.
Nice, only 40 mins of f5 while watching "who shot mr burns part 2 " xD.
Yes, the keys went unbelievably fast (roughly 1.5 minutes!) and even blew up the site for a bit! I can assure you that we are definitely investigating things to make sure there was no foul play involved.
With that said, here are some statistics on new user claims from today's giveaway:
18 users signed up today
17 users signed up yesterday
Total: 35
Everyone else signed up before the giveaway was even announced.
I don't find this ratio of new users to regular users troubling personally, however, we have heard your feedback and I will bring this back to the guys to discuss options here.
Thanks and I apologize if you were not able to get a key. We wish we had thousands to give all of you.

35% is very bad IMO. You have basically taken away 35 codes from people who have been loyal to the site, for a long time.

As I've said previously, this is no different from any of our other giveaways. The only difference is you can see the new users posting their requests as opposed to anonymously signing up and grabbing a key and leaving. With that said, yes thats 35% but it s also 65% users who signed up prior to the event. I'm a glass half full kind of guy.

Nice thanks for the stats. That sheds a lot of light, and the numbers aren't bad at all. The hype is just greater than I expected. Better luck next time right.

And what of the folks, like Drazera(sp?), who managed to post twice on two different days within the first 100? Will he be awarded two?
Hm, and what's the foul play if someone saw post on the official Rift twitter page about giveaway on mmorpg.com and signed up yesterday? What's the point of complaining about registration day if organizators state the rules of giveawy clearly without any word what "you must be the active, old" and so on member of the community? I'm starting to get worried about my VIP key

I ve seen how they feel and theres no way around it. They re only worried about traffic. Screw us the long time users I guess.

Looks like insider trading. Might have to get someone to investigate
How can someone be so fast and lucky xD
Wow they went a lot fastrer than I thought they would glad I got lucky.

Yeah, it seems that the Firefox 4.0 Beta is treating me unfairly with the [object window]. It[object Window]s supposed to be an apostrophe. Oh well.
