Ok I want to try and make a point here about a FANTASY game trying to excapsulate the innocence of childhood.
Children do not think of things in an overtly sexual manner, the innocence of childhood has to be the best part. When I was a lad and you forgot your PE kit you had to play in your pants and socks, it was a tadd embarrassing but not sexual. Parents let their children (albiet very young) go naked on the beech, because they are chilren and it is not sexual. Children going skinny dipping or just in their underwear, because they are just having fun swimming, not being sexual. Stripping off down to your underwear to have epic supersoaker (water gun) fights in the back garden. BECAUSE YOU ARE A CHILD, you are innocent of such things.
It is you the people that want this feature of the game changed that make is sexual. You see a child not fully clothed head to toe and think "dear god this is sexual!" No its a child being a child and not caring about modesty not being sexual. I would love to go into some pyscology (Freud leaps to mind) but if the Elin freak you out, Freud would kill you.
And finally if you politely disagree with everything I have said. Fair enough, because:

They look like children but are wise spirits, fierce protectors of nature. They have deceptice cute appearences ,why? Ask the god that dreamed them into existence. What? You can't? Oh yes its a FANTASY GAME.
If it makes you sleep better at night all the Elin in that are dressed in skimpy outfits are over 21, they because of the magic of the race (Its a fantasy game people!) simply remain looking youthful, lucky them.

I see nothing sexually atractive about them. People need to grow up and get their minds out of the gutter.
I think they're cute, but they can be cuter with a better variety of outfits. If a few of those outfits covers a bit more skin, I am not against that, but if they start sensoring just for the sake of sensoring, that is where the line should be drawn.
I've checked screens and you tubes and besides thinking most of the outfits seem kinda dumb I don't have a problem with them.
I am however one of those that do consider video games an art, and I do not think game companies need to appease anyone.(cept maybe investors I guess, but that's a whole other thing)
Basically what's happening to video games is the same as book burning. Shame on those "lighting fires" on anything they don't like and shame on the video game industry for being so submissive while chasing dollars.
Really I don't see why Tera doesn't sell a "rated" and unrated version since they already have the models and animations the the latter.
I don't even see a big difference between what this is all about and this screen shot I saw today from Aion.

Not only are they not children but they are cartoons. I don't get it. I don't mind having them fully clothed though, they are still just as pretty and appealing without skin showing.

I'd be surprized if in the Westernization process, they don't give Elin huge tits, too. They seem to do that for every other game.
American liberal organizations sure are quick to jump to attack other cultures and and use hypocrisy to defend their meaningless standings.
First of all, why did Tera get rated M? This game has violence that isn't too different from any other MMO, there aren't any expletive words, no sexual content and barely any implied sexual content. Yes, the females have many revealing armor models, but they do not reveal anything expletive. Most men enjoy seeing women in revealing cloths, which is why this idea is present everywhere in the entertainment today. The movies, TV, music and many aspects of social life. Sexual images are thrown at teens everywhere these days, games such as Tera are nowhere near as prominent in this role as other forms of media.
It has also been clearly stated that Ellins are adults, their bodies simply resemble younger teens. In US the age of consent is clearly stated at 18, other than that no one cares how old you look or how mature your personality is. So why would this simple rule be violated in a video game? Worried that some sick person will be whacking off to Ellins while self role playing them as kids? They could also do that with random internet pictures of kids at the beach: how people play the Ellins is irrelevant, it only matters what they actually are according to the game.
And to once again state the obvious, the armor models are the way they are because the majority WANTS them to be like that. No one is forcing you to play this game, if you have too much of an issue with it you can simply leave and never return. If you actually look at some statistics in sociology you would see that the relation between video games and sex offenders is non-existent. A common outlook at video games in US is that you can go and mercilessly murder thousands of people, but a sex scene is a NO NO. It is just pure hypocrisy and it is unfortunate that even games like Tera get affected by it.
That, and it turns out that there is a statue that's partially nude.

And if you're going to call attraction to the Elin paedophilia you're defending paedophilia and trivializing the term beyond any meaning. Paedophiles are people who are a threat to kids, not people who are attracted to flat chested characters with big eyes.
Look at the characters on Dragon Nest and then look at the Elin. And tell me the difference. It's boobs, isn't it? [b]It's just boobs.[/b] So don't tell me it's not okay to sexualize the Elin.

It is a fantasy game, keyword fantasy. It is not real, it is not based on anything real. Why would they care what churches or people who will never play the game think about it.
Last thing I am not likely to play Tera, it is very low on my list right now but reactionary misguided censorship always bothers me.
Personally, I prefer products to be shown in their intended state, censoring the Elin doesn't seem like abig deal one way or another though. Now I will admit to one thing where I tend to blur the line a bit. In most games I pretty much will not kill things like dogs, elephants, bunnies

That could be the case, I will say that after having played the Korean version of Tera - the Elin are dressed like nuns compared to the other races.

Glad I looked at a few vids before I posted. I was about to rage about censorship and the damnable religious faction stirring up trouble again. But right now, those elin seem just way too borderline pre-pubescent for some of those outfits.
I'm an unapologetic atheist and I think the skimpier the armor and the bigger the boobs are in games (or the real world for that matter), the better. But on adults. This race looks just too childlike for me to be comfortable with it. I don't know what the lore is, but if they are supposed to be some kind of faeri or sprite, I don't think they have been designed to portray it.
It's just way too Jon-Benet Ramsey for me.
