Anyone who said that Rift servers are always Medium to High at all times or even during peak hours are liers cause I saw for myself that it's not true. 80% of the servers were Low and maybe like 3 or 4 were Medium when I saw them.
And last I checked they were all medium or high, and I didn't see a single low. Which time did you use for your basis, because I looked at around 10AM, 2PM, and 8PM. Did you check at like 2AM or something or right after the servers were being brought up? Regardless I don't play the game anymore so woop de do, still if it has 1 million users, and I can see it having that, its could to see some actual competitors for the MMO market.

This was yesturday at 2PM, 5PM and 8PM. Though how factual is your information if you don't play anymore? They were populated when I played normally but that was 5 months ago. =P That has nothing to do with now.
WoW looses around 900k subs. Rift supposedly has 1 million.
I see a link here perhaps. I think people are really wanting a new quality AAA mmo to play. Im not saying there's anything right or wrong with WoW. But Ive honestly never understood how anyone can play a single game for the better part of a decade. I have a feeling many players are screaming to get out. They just need a good reason.
Looks like Rift might be the new place to go, considering it myself. Blizzard released two horrible expansions which basically told the players to like it or leave it so they actually did leave. I dont think they were expecting RIFT either. I think right now whats going on is a stability test, guilds getting in from old wow guilds, people who had their class or spec ruined on WOW over and over again not to mention the better graphics. Also their is TOR, I think many WOW players are going to wait to see how TOR does, I think TOR is going to suck so when people play tor a few months who are not already playing RIFT and realize EA sucks, which we all know to be true. I think the next year and a half will be great for RIFT. WOW didn't get all those subs over night, it takes a little plant watering.
If you are leaving WoW to go play a game that is an inferior clone of WoW with less content...well, I don't know what to tell ya. Knock yourself out, I guess. And believe me, as long as TOR is polished, even if it doesn't bring anything new to the table, it will gut Rift of players simply due to the fact it's a Star Wars IP. Many of the Rift players are only playing Rift until SWTO and and GW2 are released anyway. WoW will lose subs to both those game, and so will Rift. The only difference is WoW can absorb those losses easier since they have over over times the amount of subs that Rift does.
Don't take my word for it, play it yourself. You'll be bored stiff in a few months.

Wait. What? So you're saying that his information is correct because he doesn't play anymore. Then your next line you say you haven't played in 5 months. So how factual would your information be then?
I'm guessing you are both going off the shard status on the website or maybe the shard select screen, but whom cares. Most MMOers don't want to play with others unless they are raiding anyways. The Dungeons are in a LFG limited cross-shard situation. The PvP is the same for warfronts. Open world PvP isn't that great again, thanks to the cheaters whom got a slap on the wrist from Trion. On the last point I blame the playerbase not the company.

5 months 4 major updates for Rift. You think what? They're going to stop releasing content. 1.4 has done more than anything else to keep the energy of the game hummin'
If you think that TOR is polished, you are out of your mind. They are nowhere near polished yet. They could be at release, but not now. The SWTOR IP will draw some out of Rift, but not as many as you are predicting. The game is setting itself up for similar gamestyle, cut-scenes, rated G entertainment (it's starwars afterall), and concrete IP that has more red tape than any other IP out there. How long you think new content will come with George Lucas approving?
You're right about GW2. I will probably buy the game when it comes out, but I have never seen an MMO with more justified hype about it. Doesn't mean it will be perfect, but their direction is definitely interesting to me.
I'm not taking your word for it. I have played it. I'm not bored. I just don't play it as much since launch. I think a lot of people fall in that category. You build your character up. You get to a raiding point. Then you log in to craft stuff and prepare for scheduled raids with your friends. You raid. You log off and do other stuff. /rinse repeat.
Oh and TONS of people are leaving WoW for this game. I would say about 30% of the people in my guild directly left WoW to come to Rift. Others come from different games after leaving WoW. Most in my guild think that it's like WoW, but does almost everything better.
