So people that got early acess - Are hight resolution textures implemented now , or not ?

  • VortigonVortigon Member UncommonPosts: 723

There are no 'High Res' Textures waiting to be implemented - not sure where you heard that rumour.

What you saw in the beta test weekend is the final version of textures for release.

Those are how the game will be now and forever unfortunately!

Why are you so obsessed with this subject? You're not going to play TOR last time i checked. Why don't you go back to Skyrim and have your character being catapulted into a low orbit trajectory after being hit by a giant or a mamoth. Or spam level destruction by just seting your horse aflame. And many other "groundbreaking" RPG mechanisms which elude me at the moment.

Odd, my client size has always been right around 20 GB. Bioware says to have 40 GB available when you install. Now I have installatioin envy.....yours is bigger then mine. ;)

Let's party like it is 1863!

Now i just wait for fanbois to come up and say "wait for launch" lol

We did get beta client though ;P

I am interested because games are my hobby.

    And Skyrim is cool ;)

Yeah there is no change, unfortunately. Also textures still look a bit better in cutscenes versus in the real world. Why can't we at least have an option to enable those globally?

No hi res, no AA and no you cannot move or adjust the UI yet.  However, it is official not launch day, and if your card can handle you can force AA..if that helps.    No I am not playing...a friend is.

Looks spiffy to me - AA, hi res, or not.

as long as you can still force AA I'm happy I honestly can't play without AA looks like crap to me.. But I'm really sensitive to jagged edges it really bothers me.. But I was able to force it on during the stress test with no issues

Might just be because there's always some people cramming thier harddrives to the last gigabyte, and the game needs space for memory swapping.  Everything will run like crap if you use up all your hd space like that, though.

    When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

I'm not sure how much more can be said on this subject.

The game does not have high-res graphics.  It doesn't have medium-res graphics.  It has low-res textures that are straight out of some single player RPG from 2003...

On the postive side of things... I'm running around Coruscant at about 200 FPS.  Very... very empty and QUIET (another thing that apparently hasn't changed since I stopped playing the betas) game, though.  Must be my server - there are less than 100 Republic online.  I'm level 12... and I bet I've seen less than 12 non-NPCs the entire time.

So you're going to have to find a way of liking a game for the things if offered all along instead of basing your like on a game upgrade that never existed... I'm shocked.... Really... Really...really shocked.

Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it.

Post a video with fraps on. I would love to see those 200 fps. Video or it didn't happen.

How many servers SWTOR will launch with on release?

ShredderSE - Umm how many do they need? Maybe 6.
US, EU, Asian, France, German and Russian.
Subs will be so low there is no need for more
    Snoocky-How many servers?
The first 3 months a lot...after that 2 i guess, one for PVE and 1 for PVP...

Thorbrand - SWTOR doesn't have longevity at all. Might be one of the shortest lived MMOs.

How many times do they have to say "no" before you accept that as the answer?

I guess add one more time?

They keep saying "no, there are no hi - rez graphics in yet"  also "no, the UI customization is not in at launch but will be later"

and how about "no DX10 or 11 at launch"

thats what everyone has been saying.

People who claim its graphics look like its from 2003 have fuzzy memories.  I know because KOTOR 2 came out around then and guess what?  It looks WAAAAY worse.

Really?  Understand a bit of exaggeration?

I'm standing in Black Sun Territory fighting through a 'Bonus' quest... FRAPS is sitting between 120 and 95.  I have every setting at max and 1920x1080...

I could put up a FRAPS video and show you about 70 FPS in the corner?  Does it really matter to you?   The point is the result of the low-res graphics and the instanced engine and the lack of players... right now... is a game that runs very smoothly.  <--  That's the point I was making.

Get your eyes checked son.  If you think they look even remotely similar you either A. didn't watch them or B. need new glasses.

I know you dislike the game so it is matter of taste but screenshot / video doesn't lie.

Sure it can... show us PC graphics run on the same machines at the same resolution with all options turned on.

Otherwise it didn't happen or whatever...
