dude, people have been having gay sex forever. so have other species as a matter of fact.
the way i see it is one group is going to get p.o.ed in this little drama: the religious types because it's in the game, or the gay rights types if it's not. simple. bioware has said they're going to put it in though so if you want wail and gnash your teeth, whatever. that's your right. just don't go thinking that it's something weird that humans came up with just now to piss you off. 'cause it's not.

Personally I think the increase in homosexuality is a direct biological result of overpopulation. It's mother nature trying to thin our number because the disease and natural disasters aren't working

Kids learn about the real conqeunces of pain and suffering that they know that is not right So that is a different issue. However the idea of sex is not easy to restrict to a kid willing to try it out when threre is no physical harm involved, and they learn it is alright to try out from the media/soceity. So one is obviously wrong, while the other has not been experimented most likely while not being a harmful actiivity other than of course a kid doing it and ruining what other consider destroying their youthfulness.

Contrary to what you may think, marriage wasn't somehow 'invented' by christians. A marriage is a social or legal union in whatever shape, differing from culture to culture. It is therefore very directly linked with the beliefs of these cultures. To say that marriage is simply defined as being a union between man and woman is being blind to cultural history.
I'm 100% for 100% freedom in video games. If you have a bro-mance with another player, why not marry them...I mean if you marry a female character 99.9% chance they're a dude anyways lol. I was mad when the ESRB was created to give games "Ratings". Video Games are a form of art (upheld in the Supreme Court numerous times), and as such, developers have the right to design and release any content they want. Like it or not, you have a right to your opinion and expressing it, but you have no right to ban it.
Some say it's unnatural, but if you want to go natural, the whole institution is unnatural. We can go back to natural, having nomadic groups of women and men roaming the earth without houses, cars, money, or marriage...that's being a natural human being...but noone wants that right? lol

Also other soceities have a purpose for drawing up marriage contracts between two people. That purpose is mostly due to the conservative nature of people assuming that a man with a woman will take her, as his wife when living with her, and of course to organize any legal issues between them when sharing asstes, and of course having kids. If a soceity allows gay people to adopt, then you can justify marriage for hetero and homo.
If gay couples can't adopt, then what is the point of a marriage contract? The benefits of lviing together? Whats stopping everyone else sharing a living space doing the same thing?

First of all isnt this game rated like... not for kids or something.
Secondly if a kids experiments sexually... which all kids do... usually alot younger than we think... why does it matter what sex the person is experimenting with.
According to study... alot of boys have their first sexual experience with other males... usually masturbating in front of each other... watching porn together... that kind of thing. People take the idea of sex way WAYYYY to seriously... no one is gonna die because little timmy is gonna grow up to like men.... who cares... its not like we have a people shortage.
If anything maybe he will do what alot of gay people do that straight people refuse too.... adopt unwanted children.
That way there is at least someone to take care of all the unwanted children that the "Normal" people can't be bothered with.... they are too busy having more to give away.

So now it's wrong for kids to develop their sexual identity? Or is it only wrong because they might find out that they're gay, and it instead of suppressing it, they embrace it? Is that what you mean? That gay-relationships in games show that there is no taboo anymore on homosexuality? You're probably right, but I'd say that is a good thing.

The point is that what a marriage actually means is a result of the cultural beliefs in which that marriage is held. You're desperately holding to a notion of marriage that has been the standard for a long time, and blind to the fact that that notion is too narrow for the world we live in.

Ive been with my girl happily for over seven years... not married. No plans to get married. No plans to ever leave. But the option is always there for both of us. So i make sure to do my fair share of the house work and she is sure not to eat too much cheese and bacon. It works out.
Marriage was invented in a time when people were two hairs from being baboons. It was a tool for order... well we as a species arn't that retarded anymore... we dont need marriage. I was born from an unmarried couple and do not percieve myself as any different... if anything I have an advantage because I wasnt born into a preconcieved notion of how this shit works. If a game has a romance/marriagae theme aka like TOR then put in straight/gay, don't wait for people to tell you to do it, it shouldn't even be an issue, it should be an automatic implenmentation into the game, end of story.
I'm not gonna list 5, you can find them yourselves (if you were genuinely interested in developing your views, which I'm not so sure about). But personally, I'm from the Netherlands. Marriage here is no longer defined ( it never was an exhaustive definition, by the way) as a union between man and woman, as also people from the same sex can marry.

The game is rated teen in the states. Now you are generalizing without considering the facts. Also your wierd facts are wierd. That is not a jsutification for what the standards are, for the wierd things that you are saying. People do not experiement as much as you think they do.
So the next only important issue is how families, and societies will reflect and react to this rise and change in soceity. Change can be good, or bad.
However, humans are naturally hetero which means they are naturally against homosexual behavior as being a turn off and not necessarily homophobic. It is also non tolerant of homosexuals to expect hetoers to also masterbate to thier lifestyle and not be considerate of tohers as well. It seems they are manipulating peoploe into feeling guilty as being bigots and making them other people become more accepant of thier lifedtyle and making them ignoring thier own, as a majority. When this can all be njoyed in the privacy of peoples lives as adults.
And its not about religion as well, and therefore a rise in making homosexaulity more in the fore front as exposing everyone to gay porn, then you will get more of a back lash from those as a majority who are not necessarily homophobic but simply heterosexual. That is why it goes against the norms by making it more mainstream than it should be... and all this pro gay agenda is all in the name of tolerance and against the wicked ways of religion. When its not really about religion and is not equal about tolerance. But I do see the issue and the suffering of someone in thier situation being a minority. But bringing it to a game, might wake up some people to realize that the gay movement guilting everyone to care for them, does not care about other people as well and will take this agenda as far as possible looking into thier own interests.

Nothnig you say makes sense... humans are naturally hetero? There are contless documented studies on our closest biological cousins that show that they are almost "exclusively" bisexual at the very least.
Also how is putting the option of gay marriage in a game "guilting" people to care about gays? It's an option... like it has been in all bioware games. You don't even have to see it unless you specifically follow that path in the story.

And yet..it wasn't someone religious who brought up the subject, it was someone looking for a fight. yeah....but of course everyone blames the religious youtube channel for this thread. If all of you truly said you don't care what people do then you shouldn't care what the youtube channel says either.
I dont beleive in arranged marriage per se, but you cant just generalize. It is only wrong when the parties feel forced into the situaiton but if the situation is normal... then what is the issue? The issue then becomes the western world rediculing it, and making it seem wrong, when dating people can be very harsh and people get hurt over it. So arranged marriages has its faults, but at least it gives people a chance to find love.
Where as in a society where no one can help you find a mate, not even those websites, which are like arranged marriages finding the right match up without knowing the person becomes a very problematic situaiotn for some.
Thats a whole different situation since either 'tradition' have ways of making people live happily together, and both can result in problems.
The question then becomes which is better. That is the point, it is situational. Why force someone to not try for an arranged marriage if either party agrees. Or force someone to be forever alone becuase they are in capable of finding someone to your surivial of the fittest tradition.
