The first deal breaker was discovered for me and I will not be playing GW2 unless it is fixed. Apparently you will be unable to use modifiers with keybinds. Which means no more Shift 1-5 or Ctrl 1-5.
I can not nor will I play a game that forces me to use 6,7,8,9,0,-,or = keys. Its unnatural and very bad. I was seriously hoping to change my keybinds to be able to play the way I want to play that felt most comfortable for me.
Call me picky but I think my post history will show ive been an avid GW2 fanboy but I will not play this game without being able to use modifier keys for keybinds. HUGE DEAL BREAKER FOR ME!

10 skills, from 1 to 5 can reach easily, for the others there could be q e r t f g or whatever keybinds you are good with. Also - razer naga. Nuff said. Not a gamebreaker at all.
get a Razer Naga or a decent keyboard and the problem is solved.

No I use a 9 button mouse with Ctrl and Shift bound to thumb buttons that way all i ever use is 1-5, sht 1-5, ctrl 1-5, ~ key, Q, E, R,F,C, and V. I will not train into muscle memory a new set of keybinds especially considering that the ability to use modifiers are a core concept as old as the genre itself.

On a more serious note, you only need 10 binds. I used to bind my skills to QERT and stuff like that, much easier and you only push one button instead of a two button combo (slower). I think they will patch it in the game if it isn't in the game anyway.

What are you retarded or something? you like the game and the playstyle and everything, but when you read you can't change the keys to your liking you will not play it? haha go play Tetris... and Im sure you be back even then to complain that the tetris cubes comes in the color red.
OMG if you find the link I would be happy, really would hate to lose my fan card before release.

It will take less then two days to train yourself the new keybinds. All I hear is crying about a game because its not EXACTLY like what you are used to. Well boo hoo. Why don't you try something new for a change.
I have to agree that no modifier is just so silly , you just don't understand how it can be. Its not a deal breaker to me, i hope they will put them very very fast, i don't think its that hard to code.
Its just a beta man ,beta is atest phase not by any mean is a finish product

Imagine if a new fighting game came out that didn't allow the use of an arcade stick. A lot of people would blow it off right away. Hell, I won't be getting Diablo 3 for the sole reason that you can't have keyboard movement.

1. It's in BETA, people will complain about this and Anet will likely fix it.
2. If they don't fix it, there's plenty of software you can use to macro it yourself.
This shouldn't really be an issue to begin with. A lot of MMO players use modifers and that is well known and its strange that Anet would leave such a feature out. You shouldn't really make the statement "Dude, its only beta" because if these issues was left alone, they wouldn't be aware of the problem at all.
I hope they do add them.

I used modifiers in wow, but that was because you HAD to. I had my most used and important abilities on single buttons such as 1-5 E Q V B R C and one extra mouse button (got 2 extra plus wheel but my wheel sucks to click and one is mandatory for autorun!)
That should be enough for GW2, it's hardly a deal breaker but it should indeed be in the game imo, such a basic functionality just seems odd to leave out but it shouldn't bother someone to the point of being unplayable.. that's just silly.
It can be a big issue. If you aren't comfortable playing, it becomes almost impossible to enjoy the game no matter how good it may be.

I dont use the shift+12345, or ctrl+12345 only because I game on laptops and the way most game developers set there key mapping up is such so it doesnt work at all on my gaming laptops, so for me I probably dont need to give my answer on this subject.
I would say though if there was any game to buy in the next decade, if I was only given one game to buy, it would be GW2 hands down also Id be thrilled if Arenanet stopped this gross misuse of key mapping and included laptop gamers in there scheme by making all there binds laptop friendly and work!
