Would you buy the game in its current state?

This is NOT for trolls, this is a question to those who consider themselves hard core Guildwarriors.  Just reading some of the statements on other sites about release made me wonder if there were any other crazies like me, who would take it, as is, and happily wait for updates to get it where Anet think it's ready for release. This is strictly a hypothetical, obviously, so no need to shoot back with, "they would never do that because.......

EDIT:  The question I'm asking is if it were offered to YOU specifically, and not a general release.  Even I wouldn't want them to launch before it's ready..........yes I would..........no...........yes............no.........

We are buying it with the pre-purchases available now =P

But I hope they will polish few more things before release.

I would but Anet is not dumb enough to risk alienating potentially millions of players with a buggy unfinished product.  I think we can all agree that has been a serious issue with most MMO's over the last decade so why exaserbate the problem by following suit.  AFAIK Blizzard and Anet are the only 2 companies that refuse to release unfinished product so in my estimation that makes them worthy of more time to "get it right".

Best MMO of all time: Asheron's Call - The first company to recreate AC will be the next greatest MMO.

Yes.  From experience with GW1, ArenaNet is absolutely a stickler about detail.  Current state is probably more perfect than most release candidates from other games.

I already am on April 10th with pre-purchase.

Basically I'm buying it so I can play it once a month until they finish releasing it, so yeah, I wouldn't mind just buying it normally and playing it buggily until they get it up to snuff, at this this point in time.

Probably be a bad decision on their part to do so though, get a lot of criticism for releasing an incomplete game.

You bet your sweet ass I would.

April 10th pre purchase for sure, that is like buying an unfinished game but I went with no as my answer because release should be as close to finished as they can.

You mean a game without 2 of races, unfinished skills, lack of some of the mechanics in place, not tuned properly, with bugs and glitches?

    Why would I?

As much as I like what I'm seeing so far from GW2 and am going to pre-purchase it, I'd rather wait few months for them to actually finish the core of the game so later they can focus on bugtracking/fixing and further improvements. There is no benefit for players and developers alike to release game before it's actually ready for release.

10th of April I'm buying it

As a gamer, even without the Asura and Sylvari available, yes I would. I've seen enough to make me VERY excited for the eventual launch.  These beta events are just teases.

If it was a minecraft style deal where they essentially carry on developing it, sure.

    True.

Even though I will pre-purchase the game I would rather ArenaNet release Guild Wars 2 with all its core components in place, so that they can perform the necessary bug fixes and balance tweaks that will be required post-launch, instead of trying to finish and unfinished game. Sure the game looks amazing right now but it is definitely not finished.

What about those of us who want to play the Asura or Slyvari first (Sylvari in my case), because we are sick of seeing the Human, Charr and Norn.

    Simple answer YES!

Why? because after playing nearly all games currently available on the market, i've realised there is nothing worth my time at the moment.  Even with Guild wars 2 not being finished I'd much rather play it not finished while they are still finishing it.

Burned out of FPS, Burned out of Linear quest lines, Burned out of gear grinds, and extremely burned out of grind until end game just to play a different game I grew accustomed to playing for countless hours, just fo fight over some loot with elitist jerks.

I'm currently suffering thru a few games a day of LoL and crawling thru forums like this just waiting for more tid bits tossed our way from beta testers or Anet themselves.  Begging them "please sir may I have some more?"

I've accepted broken games even months after they were relased *COUGH* RIFT! and with them even piling more broken content on top of more broken content.   Or SwoTor being released with serious issues.

So far all the beta testers have no major concerns just normal beta issues and I'd be happier then a pig in slop if I could be in GW2 right now even if it is not finished yet because I know they'd be finishing it.

To many people gaming raises their quality of life, I couldn't imagine what life would be like without gaming.  We've been showered with a flood of horrible games, dumbed down games, which have dumbed down the player base.   So yes with what I've seen from Anet in Guild Wars 2 I'd definitely purchase it today, yesterday, last week, month or year.  GIVE ME GW2!!!

What others want has zero bearing on my decision in this case, give me it now

1 million signup for beta in 48 hrs, I bet April 10 1 millions will prepurchase.  This game will have more sub than SWTOR  mark my word.

how will it have more sub then SWTOR if this game does not have a SUB to begin with? Unless you meant box sales.

Well in all fairness, the question was would you buy it in its current state so he answered. I agree that it is worth buying now since I have seen enough to know I'd be satisfied.

I'm with Bill on this one.  I've seen enough videos from the betas to get my mouth watering.  I would be happy just playing the Charr, Human or Norn races until the other ones get patched in.  Plus the caveat of I buy it once and don't have to worry about a sub, they can take their time with patching the other stuff in because they are "free" for the most part.  Unlike a company like Blizzard, who keeps charging for a monthly sub yet refuses to put out content fast enough to warrant it.  ;D

I would buy in the current state. As others have stated it will still be buggy, no complete skill sets etc.

but like gws 1 no subscription so can always put it on the back burner if i play all the incomplete material and just come back to it in a few months to see wat has improved.

In all honetsy I would just like to play the money so I can try beta to see if it will be as good as i think the game will/could  be.
