Don't feel bad OP you are not alone, I got a free copy of the game so intended to play it until GW2 or TSW released but I can't do it.
I rode the grind to 50 before I threw in the towel, the game is just the same old uninspired rinse and repeat BS at 50 as it was at 25, still fighting the same mobs, just upgraded versions.. instead of noobie pig, I am now fighting leet 2 pig : P
During primetime 6, yes thats right 6 of the 380 members of my guild are online, and we are the 3rd rated guild on our server.
Frankly the game is crap and like I said months ago, most gamers are addicts and need help. Oh and yes I made the drug refererence again so give me a warning and pull this post again mods, but its true and should be talked about.
Gaming is as addictive as any other drug it produces the same endorphins and chemical reactions as some drugs, and some people need to understand that and really think about it and what it does to them.

what did you expect? it's just another hardcore grinder from korea. *shrug*
I expected people like you coming here making up lies =D
son, get to 60, get a good weapon, plus it +9 with 3 stats you want (like 2x8% att speed and 3% pvp dmg), then come back here and tell us tera is not a grinder.
ofc scrubs in the mid twenties won't understand it.

yes, and it doesn't change the fact, that you will have to grind your ass off. believe me, i am 60.
I played GW2 both an elementalist and a thief....im a bit confused are you actually suggesting that GW2 has better combat than Tera? The fact that some classes have an ability that jumps to the side is very very minor...are you sure you played Tera? Running around in a circle trying to get wow players to miss...miss what? an auto attack a cone attack? Why did you even bring wow into this? Its not even close to the same thing. You didn't really PvP in tera did you?
I PvPd in both UO and AC. In my opinion Tera has better combat than both of them. There was dodging spells in AC, melee locked on to people, AC had a lot to do with level not just skill.
And that is why you fail.
If you cant refute it, take it out of context or pretend the example cant apply somehow. Do anything you cant not to refute the points being made since the stance is not defendable.
As for your points about AC PvP...level...At level 78 I could beat someone in their 90s because SPELL LEVEL CAPPED BEFORE THAT and the difference between points in skill wasnt that great. And the very fact that you just compared a game with over 3000 spells to a game where no class has more than 100 skills shows your idea of PvP combat is limited to the derp PvP has become over the years with cookie cutter classes.
More attack options = more possible strategies = more difficult combat.
You go ahead and come at me with your derp class with a few skills, omg what do I do what do I do against such varied forms of attacks ZOMG!!! Oh I know, ill DODGE! its so freaking fantasically hard.
No thanks, I would rather have PvP where the possible amount of ways to attack someone is varied than just a few attack options and super smash dodge button of awesomesauce!
They said it best in Japan LAST YEAR right after the game came out. While dodge is a nice feature and the added stamina also changes combat a little, there is no real depth or anything new provided in the game to make up for a generic story that makes no sense...japan...it doesnt even make sense to them.
BUT IT HAS DODGE SUPER ACTION COMBAT! jebus so does Vindictus and I dont have to pay to have super action combat with a crap story, open world or not, crap is crap, crap in a big world is nothing more than a LOT of crap.

also not forgetting Political, GvG, wars against NPC cities. And soon to come Battlegrounds)

Do you think that suddenly just because it gets released outside of Asia that far more content will be added at a faster rate than before it? Oh wait, going by what you are saying...bragging that it already has a lot of dungeons and what not compared to SWTOR you have NO IDEA that Tera has been live since January of 2011...long before SWTOR.
God damnit...I just sounded like im defending that PoS that is SWTOR.
SWTOR and Tera have a lot in common...fanboys with blinders on. Anyone ever hear of bing able to like a game and still be able to point out its flaws?

Sorry I do not recall the specifics of stats in AC so I cant comment on how far of a level gap people could handle. didn't that vary greatly depending on if the opponent has spec'd into a defense or not and if you had spec'd into life/war or creature or not? I do not recall 3000 spells in AC. However the number of spells in a game does not reflect how good the PvP was. I did enjoy asherons call and I do consider both UO and AC PvP to be top pvp games however I am not going to lie and say I don't think WoW's pvp was any good because it certainly had its moments. I do not think you have PvP'd in Tera before it is actually pretty good you should not knock it without giving it a proper try.
I do not really like the way your post is hinting that I enjoy classes because I actually do not prefer classes and I do prefer a system like UO or AC. Regardless of what you may think I was one of the top duelers in UO.
You are far too focused on the dodge aspect of Tera that is not the highlight of Tera combat. Was AC your first MMORPG?
The elitist will call this "part of the game" and that you lack "patience" and that you should "buck up" and just "persevere" through it to get to the so called "fun part" of the game, which is also known as "end game". I really just do not get this concept.
I dunno about Elitist or not but when you played the old mmorpgs you know what true grinding is. Having to do a lot of quests is a blessing in comparison. Could it be better? of course. Will I tolerate any amount of grind if the end is enjoyable PvP? yes I will

i really wish i could. the combat screams for arenas and battlegrounds with some good pvp. but i just can't stand the grind.

With a fun class its not so bad but even on a slayer mid 30's is ANNOYING. I hated that desert area.

Well, for War magic, the one with the least amount of spells in the game had 7 bolt spells, thats 1 of each damage type wiith the top level having its own name/style = 14 bolts. 14 Arcs, 14 streaks, 14 volleys, 14 blasts, 7 walls and 7 rings = 70 direct damage war spells. Creature had over 1200 and Life was close to that amount. Item magic was in the 400-600 range. Remember that every spell in those had positive effect you, posititve effect other, negative effect you, negative effect other versions of each spell.
Anyway, having its moments, every games PvP will have its moments no matter how ordinary the comabt is and I have done PvP in Tera during beta, it isnt anything great...it had its moments but nothing so vastly different from most games...which was my point. A point further given by the class structure. Limited amount of skills = limited choices in combat = PvP that is not varied enough for ME. It gets old too fast. If I see a "ente class here" coming at me, he isnt going to be able to fight me that much differently from the last time I fought that class. And THAT is why I hinted at you prefer cookie cutter class based PvP...because that is what Tera is.
As for my first MMORPG, it was NWNO, my second was Meridian 59. And for UO I was one of the founding members of LoD a guild I played in across a few too many MMOs. Actually now that I think about it, AC1 was the only MMO I played where we didnt carry the LoD name due to it having no actual guild name, but monarchies named after the character leading it.

i'm not talking about the leveling process. i am already 60. but upping weapons and armor is such an uber grind, it's not bearable.

Ahh well keep in mind that though AC did have many spells people generally played it the same, I can't really think of an MMORPG where I didnt have a good idea of how the player is going to come at me.
Baja's LoD? I am a little familar with it. Who was your best dueler? I am pretty sure one of the people I played with regularly was from your guild but I can not recall who it was. What was your name?

Thats a loaded question. You could ask 50 of us and get a dozen different answers and they wont match up with the next 50 you ask. We had people on 24/7 and for near a full year had squads set to block entrance into the castle at set times...so one squad may say it was me, BK Thunderbird...another squad may say Viper or Thorizdin or Malice...would also come down to what division of LoD they were in. The Black Knight Brigade would not name someone that wasnt in their group as being worth a damn even though Domination was damn good.

Tera just going down in Korea and Aion still beats it. Now people will came and talk "but our is western version, better then Korea's one..." Yeah, right. Same grind crap. Aion also was westernized (but, too late) and it went F2P. Action combat? Why then I can't cast on move? Heck, I had better combat experience with Vindictus crap than Tera. Sorry, but level 20 in Tera was really enough for me (5 levels was pretty enough, but I tried to find reason that will kept me in game, only found that I'm waisting time). I don't need level cap and uber-extra-omfg Bam's to realise that game sux for me. Questing is bored, like any other mmo quests, but at least, in some games quests are interesting in Tera are boring to hell and story is "WTH I'm doing this crap again and again...".
At the end of the day, you can get game out of Korea, but Korea out of game - NOT.

O like thats not what you do in most mmorpg? hit end game grind for gear end game? And ya I been doing that thank you full set +6 having a blast still.

Ever play action combat game? Most of them have root animation, dark soul, demon soul, monster hunter some of the best action combat games all have root. Even street fighter does.
Also only reason Aion beats Tera in korean is because Korean likes grinding for lvl, sorry but they like very different things than we do. If they made Tera's grinding about 10x longer it probably beat Aion easy.
Why then I can't cast on move? Heck, I had better combat experience with Vindictus crap than Tera. Sorry, but level 20 in Tera was really enough for me.
Yeah a lot of people agree with that, Vindictus had way better action combat than Tera...and even that wasnt great...but well worth the price!

i'm not talking about the leveling process. i am already 60. but upping weapons and armor is such an uber grind, it's not bearable.
Is it? I havent done so myself but ive seen alot of +9 enchants come across chat.

Yeah a lot of people agree with that, Vindictus had way better action combat than Tera...and even that wasnt great...but well worth the price!
