Playing: GW2 Waiting on: TESO Next Flop: Planetside 2 Best MMO of all time: Asheron's Call - The first company to recreate AC will be the next greatest MMO.
I will say, I do enjoy the music a lot. The title theme is pretty good imho. While I agree it sorts of gets jumbled at about the 10 or so mark, it manages to regroup itself around the 50 second mark. And, as mentioned, he was trying to keep the GW1 theme in there as well. Plus, while you dislike horns, I think they add a lot to this kind of music. Many times I find strings to lack the power that horns can bring. But maybe that's just me.
Beside the title track, the rest of the music has been incredibly impressive to me. So far a great soundtrack that rivals even WoW's soundtrack (which has some excellent tracks regardless of whether or not you like the game. Orgrimmar and Stormwind are forever ingrained on my mind.)
I think I will take advantage of the games capacity to import music and take the best of the current soundtrack, mix in some Sibelius, Karl Jenkins and Mozart.
Total Annihilation was where I really fell in love with Soules music.
Soule has a little bit of formula to it. For his themes he seems to like a very distinct and strong theme (usually horns) supported by complimentary strings.

I would probably disagree but each to their own opinion.
One thing I may suggest is a bit more volume the GW2 main theme lacks punch at lower volumes but gets that heroic feeling when you are punching it out of your headset a bit more.
also hoooooray for custom environment/combat based playlists!
"you where serious after all" Well as your question, i will remember that each one taste for music its quite different, so Yes its close to it and for some it even surpases those songs you just linked, also a little reminder that each music its made to make the atmosphere of each game, so dont pretend to put the print of another game into another one, or you use your bike wheels on your car?

"Jeremy Soule (composer for GW2) is an American composer of soundtracks for film, television and video games. He has won multiple awards and has been described as the "John Williams of video game music" and "a model of success" for Western composers. He has composed soundtracks for over 60 games and over a dozen other works during his career. He is best known for his work in The Elder Scrolls series, the Guild Wars series, and several other top-selling titles such as Total Annihilation, Neverwinter Nights, Dungeon Siege and Harry Potter." Phaleg31, everything Aerowyn said was spot on.
Green: With regards to video game music, Jeremy Soule is considered one of the best in the industry. Don't take her word, or mine for that matter, click on the above link and just look at all the video games he has composed for; it's no accident that most game developers wants Jeremy Soule. How is this unsubstantiated reasoning??
Orange: Aerowyn is right, music tastes are probably one of the most subjective things out there!! She is acknowledging that music is ultimately relative to each individual... which is true.
What I found funny in Mr Soule's Discograhpy of video games, for all the people linking Cataclysm music, he's doing the soundtrack for MoP. Obviously Blizzard are also impressed with his work.

Yes,Guild Wars 2 music is appealing to me as was the first game music, always lets u enjoy it,and its hardly to get bored from it,cuz its really a music that u dont notice that its there,it doesnt interrupt, but rather change ur mood! and yes Jeremry Soul is one of the best music composers out there :P somtimes its even awsome to listen to GW 1 soundtrack and think ,where did I heard this music ? its pretty awsome, not all u notice in game even cuz ur too busy playing the game !
I can almost hear the struggle and heartbreak. (Break the loop whenever you want to :P)
I have to repost this for it's utter awesomness...
It's maybe not the most complicated piano piece ever, but it grabs you in the gutts and doesn't let you go until the end.
While perhaps not terribly complicated, it was a really fun intermediate piece to learn how to play This song captured my heart the moment I first heard it.

The solution to making all music good. Turn it up so loud that you're completely deaf and are none the wiser.
Some people are so disrespectful for other people it is unbelievable.
In music there is a consensus, if you don't like someone else music, shut the fuck up and go listen what you like. You don't need to trash talk anyone work unless you are the Hitler kind that aim to force their own taste on others because they think they are so vastly superior, which obviously is what some people try to do here. Pure trash talk that mean nothing. Nobody on earth force you to listen any kind of music, unless the few Hitler and company that existed in our history. You can even put your own soundtracks in the GW2 client if i'm not mistaken which is pretty unique to mmo i believe. If you want to listen Britney spear while playing your mmo just do that and keep your trash talk for your own musical taste next time.
Music can make the game I really like Ultimas Midi music and DAOC simple chants. Maybe the Guild wars 2 guy didn't have any balls? Unless they didn't want the music to mess with gameplay?

That should be a good mix.

By far my most favorite GW1 theme. This plays after you finish Nightfall. I used to help people finish the game just to hear this song.
Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play?
All hail the Barn Owl! oh.. and the RED SQUIRREL!!!

I prefered the music to the first Guild Wars, but I don't really find GW2 music that offensive.
It's fine, I've heard better, (some of the Cataclysm music was amazing, Night Elves especially),but it'll do
This looks like a job for....The Riviera Kid!
