so according to your theory the catholic priests who tortured and murdered countles human beings during the spanish inquisition, all in the name and right of god, were better human beings than a modern day gamer who questions a set of principles from over two thousand years ago?
Also, just so you know, atheists are in the minority. the only country with an actual percent of atheists is russia. And that only being 2% of the population. But, I wouldnt base my belief on how to live my life on movies, buts thats just me.

like I said it is only a concept as of right now. But, it would give alot of weight to support an eternal essence in exsistance if it is proven.

Exactly, when people have a Religion that guides their daily lives or things they do, they see things from a perspective of what the Religion tells them. as in good vs. evil. Religion has played a role in many people being murdered, hang, drowned and even mass suicides based on a Religion.
All that to me personally is evil, you could even say i have my own religion, and that is that all things are governed by space itself. And i also believe in helping people out when they need it most, as in helping the old lady across the street or doing what is necessary to help someone in a dire need, that to me would be a good thing. But i always remain scheptical because there are always conartists about. Or helping someone out that was being harrased by a group of people that were trying to force their ideals on them, but in some circles this would make me to be considered evil. I try to see things for the truth based on logic and facts. Thus most mainstream religions are based off of mostly myth. And losely based on facts. Their ideals of good are somewhat twisted in nature or even considered hypocritical.

Which religion is this?
Any religion that makes strict Good and Evil dictations on people. All of them have been in history books and in the news. They are the ones that make the "noise" when it comes to voicing their opinions. All the ones you see in mainstream media are generally the ones i speak of. But of course it is what has transpired in the past. Things are much different now and people are not outright killed over small things. But now we wage wars because of religious differences. But people are still chastised or ostracized because they are not willing to conform. But of course most of this is done by zealots of their perspective religions. But the stem of all zealots is the religion itself.

all relgions have people killed in their "belifs" no need to specify... its just dumb people doing dumb things... cant blame the relgion for it but you can blame retarts for there actions... the world is full of them...

Again. That's not the actual religion. That's the corruptive nature of man.
That in itself is an abomination. Cannibalism is something that is not...well recieved by beliefs set by the Bible to say the least.
What also must be remembered is that the papacy was sometimes filled with even non-catholics. But rather men looking for power, and the papacy going to the highest bidder.

no why do you say that... I dont have an opnion on captail punishment not enough knowledge to have an educated opnion... I would say that I think that it is needed but I did see stats that 10% or so of people put death are afterwards found out to be inescent 30-40 later(the stat could be wrong, correct me if you will)... then again you could be sacastic so what I said really makes no diffrence... I cant tell online...
so you just admitted that organized relgion is inheirntly evil because there is never a way to make sure the people running the organized relgion themselves either belive in it or are "evil" themselves allowing themselves to misues power....
Well by all accounts the Pope is the highest authority of the catholic religion here on earth(the heart of cristianity and the largest religion in the world). So if the highest authority of the largest religion says it is ok to eat the flesh of your enemy because they not cristian is a very good example of how religion can and has been used for evil.

No. I'm admitting that man is inherently evil. And then in the course of that evil if not kept in check, have a tendency for evil men in power to corrupt things around them. Just because you may have a couple bad apples doesn't mean you destroy any type of order.
And no I wasn't being sarcastic about the capital punishment thing. You were just talking about religions killing certain types of people, which for certain types of people that is needed. I mean most governments do the same thing. It's called law & order.

I'm not good with naming names, but i will try to purpose some historical events and you can place the religion with the event.
Salem witch trials?
Spanish Inquisition?
Various mass suicides?
Iran and Iraq wars?
There was a time shortly after King James made Christianity their main religion not sure what it is called. But if you didn't conform you were either killed or ostracized.
The miens sacrificing for what?
Sacrificing was the age old way of many religions and even in todays society there are a couple different religions that still do sacrifices. either it being human or animal. The ones that sacrifice other humans of course which are generalized as satanism, but not all of them have vowed Satan to be their reason.
So many things that have transpired in time that makes religions in general to be considered Evil in one way or another. But that is of course only a perspective.

Well I am not against capital punishment, but I do believe it needs to be revised, along with many laws in our system today. But to kill another man for the murder of productive members of society isnt quit the same as killing another man because he prays differently.

law&order is not slaughter helpless children and women... law and order is not burning people for fun... and also you broguht up the aphorism a few bad apples spoils the bunch but yet you tried to use it diffrently... I dont know... and actually "chaos" is created by a few bad leaders becasue people listen to leaders especially relgious leaders becasue they are "holy" and "infalible" so it screws everybody organized relgion is a horrible thing admit to it... the only way you could possiblely like is if you truely belived you are the right relgion and all others should be killed because if left uncheck by modern society that is what most relgion what stem to... no good has ever come from organized relgion...

What you got to look at is what the actual belief system is based on. And then what it says before making your decision about that religion.
Such as alot of people critisize Christianity as being evil because of what some people have done in the past, and that they proclaimed to be Christians. But yet those same people obviously haven't actually studied their basics or they wouldn't make such ignorant statements such as those.
It's always better to base your thoughts on the religion based on what it actually states, instead of the flawed men who follow it.

good point exxcept two things... church is not needed for people to still belive in the teachings of christinaity second though the historical records are superb they have also destroyed and change lots of historical events... it would have been better if 3rd party memebers sucha as in the time of ROmans/Greeks there were Historians to write down info... though that to would have a biased opnion, however since there would be more then one it would be easier to understand the "middle" ground...
When the great library burnt down we lost the most of any historical information. The laws that bind the church are what most logical thinking people call "common sense". the church is still biased in what it wishes to record as history.
They also Thou shalt not steal as well. But of course no matter how minor or major everyone has had to steal something in their lifetime. And when the time came for you to do it, you justify it to be good in your own perspective. Depending on the cause. Good is in the eye of the beholder.
