Not to nitpick, but it must be pointed out that nobody can "purchase" Star Citizen. It is not a product for sale. You cannot "buy" it.
They make it quite clear that any money SC raises is "pledges" not "sales". You can pledge money to a project that is trying to develop a game. You are not buying a game. If the project fails and no game is produced, you do not get your money back.
Star Citizen is not a released product, it is a continuous alpha in development. You can pledge money towards that development. You cannot buy it as a released game. If you pledge money, you can play whatever they have at the time.
Gamespot literally quoted Chris Roberts calling them purchases.

Both of my comments were said partly in jest, (based on some underlying beliefs) but not everyone "gets" my humor, difficult to do as text can't convey voice tone and facial expressions that I have or think while typing these.
At this point I cannot fathom why SC backers have given as much as they have, continuing to do so, with no promised or foreseeable end in sight.
Seems like irrational behavior caused by what? Insanity? Stupidity? Cult? There's lots of choices, take your pick.
I mean look, they are all smiling in those photos, instead of carrying pitchfork, tar and feathers as one might expect.

Sure, like a golf course with only 7 holes finished out of a promised 2 course 36 total can be fun to a point...but until it's finished makes little sense to spend much time or money on such. (But check out our 4 clubhouses (offices), pretty sweet, right?)
