My post on Wow forum got 68 views, 5 replies (few going to vote for Lotro), pushed to 8 page of General forum. So much about campaign, Wow players doesn't care at all.
In the ego driven world of mmorpg, this is big stuff. If your game doesn't win, there is a conspiracy or campaign against it. If it does win, all is right in the world. In the end, is this the most important aspect to a games success? On this site, your damn right it is.
LOTRO is beating WoW? Take that "we all know WoW will win" people. Ultimately things like this are nothing more than a fun little competition, anyone taking it as some sort of MMORPG lifetime achievement award should step back a minute.
Guessing TSW is getting quite desperate if they're bringing in guilds and creating different accounts just to get at first. Oh well they need it more. But well at least is not as bad as ESO'S desperation, i mean they are using every single forum they have to this.
I am wondering where you are getting your information from? any facts or evidence to back this up? To be honest, unless you can actually show something to back this up then it just sounds like you are bitter and upset.
I do know that TSW has mentioned this on their forums and it has been mentioned occasionally in general chat which has caused an influx of new users here (myself included) but I personally cant see the point of making multiple accounts just for a fun survey that has no tangible reward and I suspect that the vast majority of TSW's mature player base would feel the same way (pretty much everyone I meet and play with in TSW are in their 30's and older)
Instead of getting upset and spewing unsubstantiated venom, maybe consider that TSW has a loyal following who really do love the game they play. Maybe you could consider joining us and discover that you may enjoy it as well?
I personally have GW2 and TSW and personally I prefer TSW but I have no hate towards GW2, it simply isn't my cup of tea but I wish it all the best of luck and win or lose, its nice to see people having fun with the survey.
Originally posted by Spinalcore I honestly don't see how so many people can like Eve. I tried it and hated it more than I hated the WoW cataclysm changes that finally drove me away from WoW after that expansion was released. Way too much time wasted travelling to the different sectors when you only have a short time to put into the game. Think I spent something like 30 minutes getting to where it wanted me to go on Eve when I had 45 minutes or so to play last time I tried Eve. When you have very limited time to play DDO, LOTRO, STO and WoW all at least had stuff you could complete in the time frame and not spend most of your playtime in transit. But that is just my opinion of the game. I do know a few friends that liked Eve. I just don't see why myself.
Because people who don't enjoy jumping through space don't choose a playstyle that requires it.
As a long time DDO player, I'm pleased to see we're doing this well.
Yet another one post poster. How many does that make this now? One wonders if this is the work of the same person or two. Is it multiple people trying to get additional votes for their favorite game/s.

Regular here, but I also pleased to see it (even though I wasn't this pleased when DDO kicked out STO in the first round...).

it depends on the person I think. I, for example, expected my games to falling out right at the start, since I don't like to go with the herd - underdogs ftw Most of my votes did fall out, but for some strange reason LotRO and TSW are still here.
Not saying I'm not happy for this, nor that I'll vote against them just to make sure they're staying in the underdog category and falling out But it's strange indeed, even if you count in the wow hate. (or GW2 in TSW's case).
Anyways, I wrote at the quarterfinal's start that I'd be surprised if any of my votes would survive this round - seems I need to prepare for that surprise... (but then it's not a surprise anymore if you prepare for it, I guess. lol.)

It is OK to bring guilds and friends, afterall they are people that like the game and would have voted anyway if they knew about the contest. That's what it is all about, to know who likes what, right?
And it is a bit ironic, since you created your account a few days ago for the sole purpose of voting for GW2

When I was made aware of this vote I made a thread on the TSW forums. A few days later, when TSW made it to the third round one of our community manager put up an announcement on the same forum. In regard to our "campaign" I think that is the extent of it.
It's a fairly simple thing to check the IP of any given forum poster so I would assume that if anyone has made multiple accounts the moderators and/or technical staff of this forum would be able to contain such abuse fairly easily. If there has been any foul play I am sure that I speak for the entire TSW community when I say that we do not accept that. I am confident that the moderators and technical staff on these forums are competent and in full control so that there is no allowance for cheating or other shenanigans.

First of all let me congratulate you on creating an account here. I've played both GW2 and TSW but neither of them atm and for me TSW tops GW2 in every single aspect. Actually GW2 is (for me ofc) the prime example of an MMO I don't want to play because of watered down classes, no proper roles and combat depending on barrel rolls. I don't play Asian F2P crap so my frame of reference includes Western games. I'm not even stopping on copy paste rectangular zones in GW2 and story that sounds like written by 12 year olds.
That's my opinion and gratz again on your fresh account GW2 fan.
I bet there are some people who didn't vote for LotRO but voted against WoW. But people stating that this is a vast majority of LotRO voters either are reffering to their behaviour or never played LotRO. The reason LotRO is winning is because it's better in every term but PvP. The reason WoW is loosing are Orcs with sniper rifles mounting dinosaurs. The reason LotRO has more votes than WoW is because they have more commited community which happens to be way more mature as well. I play both games because my neighbourhood friends are playing WoW and my University friends are playing LotRO. From people I've met WoWs avarage on age is around 15 while LotROs at 25 (I'm 22 and I'm the youngest in my LotRO kinship).
I've also spent a while on EVE (not much though - on my kin mates account) and based on what I've seen I might admit it could win against LotRO in the next round but I'm sure it won't outvote LotRO as might be assumed from what people are talking about LotRO voters. If EVE will win against LotRO 70-30 I will admit that LotRO voters were just against-WoW voters. But so far I'm gonna stand my ground and say that LotRO is before WoW only because it's better.
Congrats to all the winners and thanks to everyone who came out and voted, even if it didn't make it to the finals. Yeah, this is all for fun, but it's still cool to see the communities come out and support their games. If nothing else, these polls are great for discussion and a chance to hear people's reasons for like and dislike.
But if people are going to complain about conspiracies I guess TSW players are probably the best target for that. /.
That is a very good point. If someone else has done a conspiracy here and it turns out us Illuminati and friends have played by the book then we will look very silly indeed.

Looks like my Guild Wars 2 has been defeated. All the games I have played have been voted out. I don't think I'll be voting anymore since none of them made it through.
If I do choose to vote I will probably be going with the Sandbox game just because it is a Sandbox. Never played Eve Online, but it may get my vote in a close race.
This is not even a popularity contest, it's about what game got more fanboys and antis. Waste of time.
My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion.

I agree with your assessment, its is absolutely a popularity contest. As I said before, when people create new accounts to simply post on here, vote and give the appearance of a games popularity based upon how much hype they can create for a game, that speaks for itself. however to each their own.

You thought perhaps this was going to be some kind of earth-shaking research of great import to the gaming industry instead?
At best, it's a snapshot in time of how well motivated (and tuned into internet forums) the fan bases are. It's fun and friendly competition (most of the time) -- how seriously one takes it is perhaps related to how snarky the commenter is (or isn't).

Welcome to MMORPG.com. The longer you hang around these forums and see just how long people hold grudges, you wouldn't be as surprised about the notion of people making accounts just to make negative posts or to influence votes just for the sake of doing it. However, the best thing to do is to just keep it to yourself because the whole argument isn't worth fighting over anyways.

Damn, DDO lost, barely. I'm saddened.
Good luck LotRO, you are our only hope.

Been a fun deal. Thanks MMORPG
Hurray for ESO!
It is a fun game, and will be a better game post 1.6.
Can't stand third person tab-targeting any more.
And grats, LOTRO, for booting WoW out of the running. I'm impressed!
But ESO still have "tab targeting", maybe not exactly tab-targeting but still kind of.
Btw nice to see that Zenimax finnaly looked to Secret World how to improve skill system - Major/minor buffs.
