It's not a 140 mil game. It's a "few million" dollar art project, for which they've bilked the public of 140 mil. People conveniently get this confused
Yup, 370 developers just sitting in the studios all day.

There's zero evidence of this. The claim has never been substantiated. It's not reflected in any legitimate documentation. Show me company tax reports depicting 370 employees "sitting in any studio any day" associated with CIG.
Ah yes, all the journalists and fans that did studio tours are lying bastards. All the people they saw and spoke to were actors.

There is zero evidence if you IGNORE all the evidence.

Here is just one example (use Google Translator if you do not understand German)

    " Star Citizen - Besuch bei Foundry 42 /

Star Citizen - visiting Foundry 42"

Does not depict 370 employees sitting in any studio, anywhere. It depicts "some" employees sitting in a studio, somewhere.

Why do you not ask our MMORPG.com staff here if CIG is faking the number of employees?

    They have been there ;-)

Video depicts about 8-10 employees. Only 360 to go.

"Das neue und angenehm licht und leicht eingerichtete Studio Foundry 42 befindet sich mitten im ebenfalls noch jungen Europaviertel in Frankfurt am Main. Momentan sind dort rund 40 Mitarbeiter beschäftigt, insbesondere Engine-Speziallisten, Programmierer und Designer sind stark vertreten und nicht wenige haben bereits Erfahrung mit der Cryengine sammeln können, nicht selten in früheren Jobs bei Crytek selbst."

Good to know ... that means all those hundreds of employees (confirmed by journalists) have worked for free these last years and NOT received a share of those 140 mil (the crowdfunding sum of SC  is confirmed every year by Guinness Book of World Records). Despite a monthly burn rate of approx. 3.5 M$. I salute these works ethics and dedication.

Gotta hope that all those folks can push things through, despite the major drag of Roberts and his clique of croneys.  'Cause Roberts will always be there to demand important things like sandworms and sandpeople from his exhausted teams.  Now that is innovation!

Don't doubt that they will manage to get something out, eventually.   But even at the time of the kickstarter I was warning that it was not going to be the smooth sailing that the teeming fans were singing praises about.   Chris Roberts is his own worst enemy.  He does have the PTBarnum skills at raising money though, gotta give him that.
Someone please enlighten me, how people came to conclusion, that they are late, and more troubled development than any other games?

So IMHO they are not by any means late as of now.
Read Chris Roberts and his constant saying that the game is just around the corner or that such and such will be released by this date. Even pushing the release date back again and again it's still constantly late.

I'm not asking you to disprove a negative, here.

I'm asking for any kind of proof those are full or even part-time employees sitting at desks in studios. That kind of evidence is very easy to show. Some of those could walk on a couple months as advisors. Some of those could be freelance artists who produce a portfolio of concept drawing and are paid a $1k to $3k premium. Some of those could be receptionists, janitors, people who work in the coffee bar or building security.

The statement made is "370 developers just sitting in the studios all day". The onus of proof is on you, not me.

Ah I see what you are saying, it is a bit like how you need to prove to us that your mother and father are not also brother and sister being as it is easy for us to assume that they are?
I never made the claim they are or are not for proof to be relevant. You're making the claim they are, now you need to cite proof, and that, also, is easy to establish.

It's difficult to tell the difference in concept. I understand.

yet provide no proof, then you go on to suggest that we should provide proof that your claim is not true. just like my statement :)

That Derek Smart is worse than CIG, seriously. I've played Star Citizen, It's a huge mess, lag, bug etc. (as expected from an alpha game). Then I've played Derek Smart's game and it's worse than Star Citizen, the funny thing is this guy writes huge article about how Star Citizen is a scam, while he does the same thing in his games. The guy just writes articles about Star Citizen, instead of fixing his scam games.

I was more addressing just them being late. In relation to other games they are going to be very late at the rate they are going.

SC may have had new ideas when it was first announced but other games will implement the features before CIG can and they most likely do it better and for less money

You already show a legit leadership skill, full extremist negative bias vs full extremist positive bias, the war of darkness and light!

If not even Christmas can make people stop fighting over Star Citizen on random internet forums, nothing can. The obsession can no longer be controlled.

I find any of that very difficult to believe. If 4.0 has not arrived within 2 years I will agree that they are starting to be on the late side though.
