It doesn't matter if CR only said it would be in the game to drive sales. Only if he super mega pinky swears in front of two+ impartial and certified witnesses.
It ultimately depends on what the meaning of the word is is

Idiots will be the ones who hear a mention of a feature that is put as a possibility for the game, and will proclaim it is a confirmed promised feature instead.

I just want this quote here forever. Never trust anything Chris Roberts says.

Not at all, it's more about the understanding of the English language. Those who do understand the English language, will understand when there is a disclaimer and when there isn't.
The delusion rests with the people that refuse to see what is right in front of them.
Nah, it lies within Selective Perception. You only see what you WANT to see.
When you ignore the point and go on with this "sensationalist" replies, it just shows...
This is ironic since you are failing to see the tracker as a useful tool and instead dismiss the entire thing as troll bait simply because there might be a few things that shouldn't be in there.
Speaking of. Would you care to point out what items are getting you so riled up from that tracker?

There used to be a word for this considering any other game:
Vaporware
But I guess in the case of SC its the fault of backers and enthusiasts that they are gullible idiots and cannot differentiate what will and wont be in the final version based on CRs delicate mimics instead of clear list of features and scrapped features..
Star Ciziten really can get away with anything these days
On Topic:
I just checked the feature list thoroughly along with sources and the emotion which somehow correlates with the amount of money, time excuses and the table is.. disgust
Pure disgust for the company's resource management
I think I actually spent way more time reading and theorycrafting about MMOs than playing them
It ultimately depends on what the meaning of the word is is
There's many things on SC that he indeed promised and confirmed as it will happen, as there is also many others he did not.
It requires someone delusional to grab all the things that were talked about that fall upon both case, merge it together, and call it all the same.
The delusion rests with the people that refuse to see what is right in front of them. The people that are being lied to over and over and over again.
I think that describes the Star Citizen hate campaign really well lol, keep drinking that smart koolaid and making "lists" I'm sure the future is bright lol

If you're one of those people who indeed hears a mention of something and will proclaim it as a promised confirmed feature... Then that's up to you... It doesn't make you right by doing so.
Then let's talk how evil they are when something with a disclaimer does not happen.
Backers seem to know better than you what to expect.
I start to think the same. That the haters seem more delusional on what to expect than the backers.
At least many I know do know what is the confirmed feature-set of SC at this point, what was originally pitched, the stretch goals, and what they have confirmed as features beyond that.
It doesn't matter if CR only said it would be in the game to drive sales.

Doubt if SC got a free pass we would have topic like this every week or so lol.
And your last point is the main problem here, you look at it and see the word promise stuck everywhere and see only x amount done and as you said, you feel disgusted, who wouldn't be, but the problem i'm seeing is many things are being listed as promises when they never were made to be one.
Also it seems many things are being missed out of the completed list. So overall it's giving a false impression of whats happening.
Again having a list is fine, but when purpose of the list is meant to be a helpful tool to keep us updated, but is causing reactions as yours due to it's inaccuracies, then there's a problem.
Backers seem to know better than you what to expect.
For fans there are always expectations that the game has met or they believe will meet. For haters there are always promises that were failed or they believe will be failed. Truly this development offers entertainment for everyone.

At least many I know do know what is the confirmed feature-set of SC at this point, what was originally pitched, the stretch goals, and what they have confirmed as features beyond that.
When will those confirmed features be coming out? Can you guarantee 100% they won't be cut or pushed to the back burner for an indefinite amount of time? No one even knows what limited features will make the cut of the released game because Chris still hasn't announced what his MVP will be or even when that will be coming out
When will those confirmed features be coming out? ... No one even knows what limited features will make the cut of the released game
As the development flows, before and after release (as stated multiple times by now). The release of the game is irrelevant to the sphere and delivery of the confirmed promised features, as even stretch goals (like the total of solar systems) are set to be delivered after the release... And besides the point I made.

No idea if it will 100% be in or what the MVP is, no one can predict that and no is trying to.
The point being made is they should be held accountable for the actual promises, ones made in the stretch goals, than focusing on the "it might be in, it might be not" features.
simply: Should they be held accountable for actual promises, IE stretch goals? Yes. Should they be held accountable for could be's and mights? Thats up to the person, imho it's a waste of time
To the overall topic,
It's kinda weird that in a way we are agreeing with you guys in terms of accountably and promises, but some of you just aren't taking the time to get it and think are just thinking "fanboi".

Correct me if I'm wrong but the official list of accomplished stretch goals are promised to be delivered by the game's launch. Like this one you mentioned as an example:

Its funny ... looks and feels like a game to me. And others seem to enjoy it too.
If this is "just a cry-engine mod", I am sure you can come up with this in a month, right?
