Has there been a single game that hasn't missed their date on kickstarter?
To be fair, a lot of AAA backed titles missed their deadlines as well, or put out bad rushed games to make their deadlines. Which has lead to companies not giving exact dates anymore, and deferring that Expansions and Updates will happen, when they are ready, so they don't put out half done products to meet dead lines.
Most of those (any other than Caspien?) did not go out of their way to mock people that questioned the timeline... One of the great rules about life: You wanna talk the talk you need to walk the walk.
Do you know that for sure? Or are you making an assumption pulled straight out of your ass again? ANd when exactly did Caspian mock someone I'm curious?
Do you follow every kickstarter game feverishly? Do you hang out in all the discords? Do you watch every single Q&A? Or again are you making a baseless claim based on the minimal research you've obviously done?

Without Fail, SOP of every major game developer is to defer their critics/haters to the PR department or ignore them entirely.
They almost always without fail, put up a fluff piece to apologize for the delay to their loyal fans, offer them something as a reward for inconvenience if the situation merits it, refund the butthut as appropriate, and move on with the game.
I fully agree that it was a total mistake for Caspian to go slogging in the trenches and try to engage his haters at all, very bad form to do that.
Egotism is the anesthetic that dullens the pain of stupidity, this is why when I try to beat my head against the stupidity of other people, I only hurt myself.
So a studio that raised 4 million, that had to lay off 3 people, missed its initial release date by what looks like a couple years, cancelled its partnership with spatialOS touted as the fabric of the game, sold pay 2 king for 10k and vote tokens, that thought it was a good idea to make a MUD and can't find a publisher or additional investors since April...
Thats the horse you got your money on?
Has there been a single game that hasn't missed their date on kickstarter? Crowfall originally was I believe estimated December 2016. Star Citizen's originally 2015. Ashes of Creation claims 2018, which everyone knows is bullshit.
SHenmue 3 claimed December of 2017. Like honestly I don't know a single game that has ever hit the estimated release date given on kickstarter.
And they have found publishers. THey could easily change the payment model and get a publisher, but they don't want to, and hopefully they don't have to, because even adding sell able cosmetics in CoE effects the ultimate vision of the game.
The main problem isn't missed deadlines. It's that they only raised 4M when they probably need 5 times what they have raised so far and things don't look promising for the rest of what they need.
All these claims about people being too negative without facts, and who don't know shit about shit and all naysayer's and harbingers being ignorant. but the math just isn't there folks.
As far as I can tell Nilden's post above was entirely factual...
So a studio that raised 4 million (check) that had to lay off 3 people,(check) missed its initial release date by what looks like a couple years,(check) cancelled its partnership with spatialOS touted as the fabric of the game,(check) sold pay 2 king for 10k(check) and vote tokens(check) , that thought it was a good idea to make a MUD(check) and can't find a publisher(check) or additional investors since April...(check)
Yet all they can do is complain that other people complain. They simply fail to understand that CoE is not the first game to go through this. We have seen it over and over again. This so closely resembles Pathfinder Online that isn't not even funny. Even some of the same players are involved. You would think they would learn from history and not repeat the echo chamber.

No I didn't read every page of this forum, and I've already said that. I know you convinced yourself I'm someone else, but I really am not. I've read a couple posts on this forum from time to time, but for the most part steered clear.
I think it's fairly obvious with CoE, you've done minimal research, and most relied on puff pieces from terrible website such as this one and MMOs.com. I doubt you've read 5 dev journals of CoE.
And BTW, I don't doubt that he has mocked people. I just doubt that you have the knowledge to decisively claim that none of these other devs have done the same.
Also by the way the MUD was always part of the plan, and it's a vital part of testing. It's not just a game for people to play, it has a reason beyond that. It's a safe testing environment for certain features. Just seems like a weird thing to bitch about.
I think it's fairly obvious with CoE, you've done minimal research, and most relied on puff pieces from terrible website such as this one and MMOs.com.
The fact that you would make such a statement simply shows ignorance. Which will be plain to anyone reading it that actually DOES frequent these forums
And BTW, I don't doubt that he has mocked people. I just doubt that you have the knowledge to decisively claim that none of these other devs have done the same.
See now... go read what I wrote and then read what you wrote. That difference is the source of your confusion.
Good Luck!

He doesn't because I have seen it done several times in other games where Devs have publicly mocked and burned their critics.
But, most studios have a very strict policy against their team even talking about the game with players in general, as while "Transparency" might be a modern day buzzword, candor regarding how you feel about the jerks that criticize your game, is not.\

That post was so fuckin cringe. I feel like you just basically say "ask around im a big deal around here". The douche chills are so strong right now.

You can absolutely say you think I'm wrong about a whole slew of things. Heck you can even follow others and call me names (and you will get a lot of people agreeing with that!)... but the second you make silly claims about "minimal research" you will be laughed off the stage.

Yeah, I've found that it's a way for people to try to get others to gang up with them on someone. They try to label you as someone hated in the community in order to disengeniously invalidate your points. Seems like a tactic of the desperate and uninformed.
And I totally agree that Caspian needs to ignore that shit, but I also can't judge him with the amount of negativity that seems to follow every game nowadays in development. And 99% of devs don't interact with their communites half as much as Caspian does. But who the fuck cares you know what I mean? It's such a meaningless point. He's just reaching to find something where can say "only chronicles of elyria has ever... ". He's trying to construct a perfect box where he can fit his negativity in.
Yup and if I ever said I was going to make a game I'd really expect you to hold me accountable to what I said.
You guys are really funny. It's like you ignore the game and the company entirely and just want to talk about Slapshot... maybe I should just get my own twitch show or something.
Got anything else to add about the State of Studio?

I talk about CoE daily on the forums/CoE Discord. When I have a problem with something I go to the developers for an explanation. I don't bitch and moan on a forum that is no way involved with the product.

LOL.. Nope.
Not sure how many times I will need to say. I haven't bet a cent on this 'horse', but it seems like it always just one more time.
So let me see.. my choices are, a game company that is behind schedule vs a bunch of formites that can't read.
I am sure you can understand that It's a difficult choice.. no doubt.
Wait so you're just here because you think we're all bullies for trash talking a company that's going to end up taking $3+ million from fans and never giving them a product all because of hubris? HAHA

Just because I haven't been heavily involved with COE doesn't mean I wasn't calling it out since the beginning of Kickstarter.
Small development teams need to be comprised of seriously talented or experienced individuals neither of which COE posses. They didn't get the amount of money they needed to attract someone that can build this game for them, and they lack the ability to do it internally. That's just a fact, take it or leave it.

Wait them not having the ability is a fact? How are you privied to this information? You know the skill level of their staff? Huh? Do you know what a fact is? Yeah I'll think I'll leave it, sense that statement was stupid as fuck.
What do you mean "attract someone to build this game for them". THey've hired very experienced programmers and offered them interest in the company. How is that not an attractive offer? The work you're putting in has a direct effect on how much you will get payed when it's all said and done. Release the ground breaking game, that you claim to be, and you will get a fat payday at the end of the road.
And what exactly does you having a consistently shitty opinion have to do with anything? You sound like ever other pessimistic person in gaming (not that I necessarily blame you with how shitty PC gaming has been over the last 5+ years). A gamer who is overly negative about a game in development? Oh wow, what a rare person you are friend! People like you exist for every game, whether they end up successful or not. If anything this is more proof to me of your own motivated reasoning. Which honestly this forum (and the internet in general). As Bill Burr says you go to www.imright.com and mimmick the negative opinion you already concluded on before any reasearch. That's why you say stupid shit you can't possibly know like "they lack the ability to make the game" and somehow convince yourself that this is a fact.
Now that, is truly remarkable, especially the BDSM chain mail. This is probably the best argument for the "Harbringers" or anyone who knows where this is going.
Forget the Gantt charts, lack of publishers, and etc, this is your penultimate insight right here on what state the studio is in lol

Oh I'm sorry I must have missed where they internally built a game.. It's a fact they haven't done it, and it's a fact that people still work there. So what exactly are they doing? If they have the ability they should get to work, and people like me won't have a word to say now will we?
As for the company stock pitch.. That's irrelevant as it's not a publicly traded company and therefore that percentage of the company means nothing unless it succeeds. Another newsflash for ya, game developers don't typically work for a company long enough to care about owning a piece of it. They want to make their money and move on to the next project. No one cares about owning a piece of a company that's not worth anything. So no it's not an attractive offer.
Good companies don't blame the people buying their product for delays. Good companies actually WORK and come up with something to show for it. So far I've seen nothing come of that initial Kickstarter that resembles the ability to come anywhere close to the pitch of the idea.
Don't worry I've been here a long time, and I have no problem telling you I told you so when this game inevitably becomes a part of forum history.

It doesn't have to end with a train going off a cliff with no tracks... even now it's not too late... but the more the enablers live in fantasyland the harder it will be to turn the train away from the cliff.

Do you even read these forums at all?
You can't.. because if you did you would know the answers to all the questions you just posed.

See now... go read what I wrote and then read what you wrote. That difference is the source of your confusion.
Good Luck!

But, most studios have a very strict policy against their team even talking about the game with players in general, as while "Transparency" might be a modern day buzzword, candor regarding how you feel about the jerks that criticize your game, is not.\
and, join the club, they mistook me as someone else as well.

After all you said.
But I am gonna bet.. while this Caspian guy is out there trying to make this dream game a reality.. you.. are just gonna sit around and talk.
You guys are really funny. It's like you ignore the game and the company entirely and just want to talk about Slapshot... maybe I should just get my own twitch show or something.
Got anything else to add about the State of Studio?

Instead you decided we needed to hear you say all the things we've heard and refuted a million times already.
