Speaking of getting facts straight. SWG was originally supposed to take place 1000 years before A New Hope. They changed at half way through development. So YES they were supposed to use a different timeframe for THIS product.

I have Empire at War, I play it. Yep they are a part of it. I was being a smartass about adding an actual playable class in it. Once again you seem to not understand sarcasm very well, I will try not to use it in our discussions in the future.

You are still not clear on your question, I think you just wanted more reasons to bash at me personally.

So....anywho, I thought it was good to see the timeline set so we could imagine how things might go should the op's source prove right. Could happen!
For the TV series, who knows better than the creator of the entire saga what happened in those years between Sith and a New Hope? I haven't had any problem with the enhancements George made to the original set of movies. I completely understood that he had in his head a picture that he couldn't show to everyone else all those years ago, and now he could so voila! I think it is interesting, and I'm glad of it, that he still has stories of the Star Wars universe to tell, and he is willing to share them.
Fadeus and Sago. You two do realize you are "arguing" in a thread that was created from, as far as we know, 100% horse shit right? While both of you do have valid points, we shouldnt get to caught up in this, since well like I just typed...until there are offical statements...press releases...whatever, everything in the OP is 100% horse shit..Shayde preety much says that.
"There's no star system Slave I can't reach, and there's no planet I can't find. There's nowhere in the Galaxy for you to run. Might as well give up now." Boba Fett
I think this is a continuation of an argument from another thread.
On the topic - I'd love even half of it to be true but SWG has taught me to be a pessimist until the house falls on top of me. Then I will believe. "SWG2" stands to be Anakin in my book. Who shows up - Vder and SOE's buy and play idea or the Hero with a 3rd party and what we all hope and pray for.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to appologize to everyone in this forum and particually this thread for having to read this BS.
I always try to keep an open mind about everything. I know that MOST every subject has at least two sides. I also believe in at least TRYING to make everyone happy so that all can have fun. Some people do not think as I do. Some people believe that it should be their way or the highway. I believe in putting up with some features that you may not like because there is enough other stuff that you do like. I do not like to impose MY will on someone else and dispise it when I see it happening to others. When someone says you can't, I may very well ask why not and/or propose a compramise.
I also believe in NOT taking away someone else's ability to enjoy themselves. Some people do not view things in a light such as that.
And as you all can see I will fight so that everyone can have the ability to do just that. This may be a character strength or it could be a character weakness. At times I find myself asking that very question.
Anyways, my appologies to those who may have been iritated by this recent exchange.

To be honest id much rather see a Jade Empire MMO than another Star Wars one. I went through the horror of having the best game I had ever played be murdered, I couldnt take it if it happened again down the line.

Even if SWG2 doesn't pan out I'm looking forward to the space mmo that the company "spacetime" or something is supposed to make with NCSoft. Has a JTL dev and a WingCommander Dev running it. Hopefully it'll be a better version of EVE.

NO ... let me give YOU a couple .... Jedi WAS suppose to be in the game from the beginning. SOE failed to deliver this on release date and then added it later. Get your facts straight before you try spouting off. Everyone who played knew that it didn't exist and although people hoped for it and the speculations abounded, we had fun anyway. Those are the facts whether it was "supposed" to be there or not. I can't believe that you actually think the overall fun factor of SWG was lower just because Jedi were not in. If SOE had brought out space, vehicles, smuggling, player bounties, and player cities instead of activating the Jedi slot, nobody would have cared about Jedi. Considering that player cities and vehicles came out the same time (within a couple weeks) as Jedi, and player bounties were implementable then also, if they had spent the Jedi resources on space and smuggling the game would have been better off.
Everyone assumed the ability to open the slot was there... SOE failed to tell everyone that it wasn't as promised. How was it that nobody I knew in game for the first 4 months "assumed" this?
How did holocrons destroy the playerbase. Elaborate. Come on! Do you remember what happened when holocrons came out? Do you remember the hundreds of AFK grinders? Do you remember to FS NPC farming and fights? Do you remember that the only thing people talked about was how many holocron professions they had completed and how many professions they had mastered? For quite some time it killed a major attraction within SWG, the social aspects. And for what? You could AFK grind nearly every profession back then when levels did not exist. It was a joke and people knew it.

No I only call you out when you belittle people on these boards because you cannot accept that someone thinks differently than you. You say you are objective and then call people stupid, or lacking XXX quality, those are pretty subjective. But we have had all these discussions before, you cannot accept that your opinion is not accepted by others. It makes it quite easy to push your buttons actually.
But carry on ..... carry on especially if it makes you feel better.
BTW ... you mentioned time frame ... So what are game developers suppose to do? Make a different SW game for each time period regarding SW? No, they needed to keep the timeframe without Jedi. Try and look at it "objectively". What were the biggest complaints in the game centered around? Was it crafting? Resources? Smuggling? CH pets? Dot weapons? Doc buffs? Last Ditch? Flame Dots? No. The largest problems with balance, weapons, resources, skills, bugs, etc, etc were always with Jedi. Eliminate Jedi from the equation and the entire game balance changes along with a much more reasonable system to balance and debug.
Oh... Well I decided to read on through a little bit of this. Yes there is a SW game for every era. Or less we forget all the millions of Starwars games out there. Personally I like what Battlefront 2 did. Made the 'Hero' Class playable for a short amount of time. Being a Jedi is just way too powerful for any exstended period of time. Obviously you couldn't possably implament this system in an MMO. Playing a jedi loses its nastalga very quickly cause you're very powerful. So giving a player just a slight taste should be more then enough for them.
Siehst du mich Erkennst du mich Ganz tief in meinem Herz ist noch ein Platz f?r dich Ich suche dich Ich sehne mich nach dem was ich geliebt hab doch ich find es nicht
That's not actually a bad idea. Imagine if Jedi became an independent faction. You could do quests for them and gain faction points or just grind faction for them. When you hit a certain rank you can spend a huge chunk of faction for a single use "Jedi Bodyguard" NPC. He'd stay spawned with you for like an hour or somethin, they could be programmed so that in PvP, they automatically prefer other Jedi Bodyguard targets, so they cancel each other out and don't ruin PvP. Or the game automatically detects an unbalanced fight with too many NPC Jedi on one side and sends some in to equalize. It would give the cool feeling of fighting along side Jedi without giving HUGE advantages to certain players.

OK when you can get a grip and quit with the insults maybe we will try again.
I have Empire at War, I play it. Yep they are a part of it. I was being a smartass about adding an actual playable class in it. Once again you seem to not understand sarcasm very well, I will try not to use it in our discussions in the future.
Yep, jedi are a part of SWG currently and have been since about half a year after launch. What exactly does that have to do with making all Star Wars games in more then one timeline for the jedi fanatics? You are still not clear on your question, I think you just wanted more reasons to bash at me personally.
Discussion over, you have no point.

Maybe what you need to do Fadeus is go back to the beginning and reread all the posts. You started this flame war with your attacks.
You were being sarcastic? I guess that is one way out of it ... claim you were being sarcastic.
That was jedi are apart of Star Wars.
You can't even keep your own chain of thought straight. You asked 2 seperate questions in your previous post and I answered both seperately.
Your last reply seems to be combining both questions and answers. NIIIIICE.
Have a good rest of the weekend ... seriously.

We are all entitled to dream...

Even if only the changing company fact is true, the fact that Bioware is taking over really says it all, i woudln't dream of a better company than the creatores of Knights old of the republic ... I've played verious Bioware games and i've never been dissatisfied.
I decide who lives or who dies!
But ... /sigh (unfortunately) .... we don't know officially if LA/LEC is going with BioWare for SWG2 development yet ... One can only hope LOL
What i do hope is that BioWare and LA/LEC will come out with a press release soon so we aren't sitting on the edge of our seats.
