That's 1 out of 3. The shuttle waits were an inevitable time sink... but a legitimate one IMHO because they fostered the sense of community so lacking now. 10 minutes was too long, 5 minutes was good.
The repetitive lair killing and buff line waits are purely a consequence of how you chose to play. I was endlessly annoyed by the eternal whine of "But you had to get buffed to do anything!" No, if you didn't insist on soloing everything, wearing 80% Composite full armor and using weapons built for max damage regardless of HAM costs, you didn't need buffs.
Time sinks are time sinks, regardless if they're compulsory or not -- 3 out of 3. If you want to nitpick, by your definition, it wasn't even necessary to use shuttles depending on how you chose to play.
You thought time sinks were community builders, that's great. Apparently, more people thought they were just too boring to be worth it.

You have NEVER given ONE SINGLE VALID EXAMPLE or ANY example for that matter of why jedi "didn't belong in the game". ANY examples of compromise, trying to make all people happy with in SWG on this subject was met by you with the exact same attitude you present above.
I'll give you a couple: Originally Jedi were not in the game and everyone was pretty damned happy playing. Guess what, people didn't even expect it either. Secondly, the timeline was set so that people were happy with the concept of only Vader and Luke. Then holocrons came along and literally destroyed a segment of the playerbase. Once that happened, people who had resigned their dreams of becoming a Jedi and were having fun in their chosen template decided that they needed to try, since everyone else was.
If you had been in these forums longer than 2.5 months you would know that Fadeus used to be an avid defender of the game and a voice of reason in these forums. You, on the other hand, have done nothing but bitch. I suggest you look in the mirror when you call people selfish.

LOL and the most fun I had was going 23-0 agaisnt asshole BHs 1v1 ... I kept a list in my bio for people to read, listng names and dates .... even killed someone twice .... he had a 2 next to his name.
Tho there were like maybe 5 BHs that were REAL good and came DAMN near close to taking me out.
I was also killed once .... but it took 2 of them to do it. And as I recall .... I never got pissed. ... it was just the way it was .... part of the game.

I loved Carbineer. I never really got far in CM...i think I gave up on it at around 3/2/2/2 or something.
CM was absolutely great! I could never find friggin enchancers cause no one wanted to make them but I had a blast with it. I could kite stuff like mad betwee the carbineer specials and the CM dot's and debuffs.

I was merely stating that his having been here 2.5 months means he did not see the time when Fadeus was still playing SWG and posting here regularly.

No. The largest problems with balance, weapons, resources, skills, bugs, etc, etc were always with Jedi. Eliminate Jedi from the equation and the entire game balance changes along with a much more reasonable system to balance and debug.

Your case uses a lot of assumption. You're assuming that everyone knew there were no Jedi available at the start, although the game states that you can follow the path of the Jedi right on the box. You're also assuming people would have been happy had Jedi never been included, even though a huge segment gravitated towards pursuing that profession as soon as it was introduced. I would think the contrary, and that the forums would be constantly seeded with posts asking how people are supposed to expect to believe this was a Star Wars game if there isn't a single lightsaber to be found. But this is the problem with theories.
I can only agree with the people who say, "there are no hordes of Jedi in this timeline." But even without actual "Jedi" I would argue that the game must find some way to introduce the force as a playable factor. If you pull the fantasy element out of Star Wars it just becomes a glorified Battlestar Galactica, IMHO.

It was a joke and people knew it. BTW ... you mentioned time frame ... So what are game developers suppose to do? Make a different SW game for each time period regarding SW? No, they needed to keep the timeframe without Jedi. Try and look at it "objectively". What were the biggest complaints in the game centered around? Was it crafting? Resources? Smuggling? CH pets? Dot weapons? Doc buffs? Last Ditch? Flame Dots? No. The largest problems with balance, weapons, resources, skills, bugs, etc, etc were always with Jedi. Eliminate Jedi from the equation and the entire game balance changes along with a much more reasonable system to balance and debug.

But they SHOULDN'T be an alpha class. What game has survived with an alpha class? WoW, CoH/V and EQ2 have NO alpha class... and from WoW alone, it proves it is a good idea.
Yes, give the kids their glowsticks, but also teach them what general order 66 is all about.

IMO, it his how it is implemented and maintained. You keep the visible numbers down. I will agree that Jedi should not be running all over the place killing everyone.

The repetitive lair killing and buff line waits are purely a consequence of how you chose to play. I was endlessly annoyed by the eternal whine of "But you had to get buffed to do anything!" No, if you didn't insist on soloing everything, wearing 80% Composite full armor and using weapons built for max damage regardless of HAM costs, you didn't need buffs.
Time sinks are time sinks, regardless if they're compulsory or not -- 3 out of 3. If you want to nitpick, by your definition, it wasn't even necessary to use shuttles depending on how you chose to play.
You thought time sinks were community builders, that's great. Apparently, more people thought they were just too boring to be worth it.

Some of the most fun I had was hunting glowstick wielding assholes. Most fun was when they thought they were uberleetdoods all "if the FPS worked I'd be master".. and I'd get 4 friends to pull the same bounty. Oh that was richeous-fury fun right there.
Then the anonymous bounty made it harder..
Then the anonymous totals made it damn well impossible.

I'll give you a couple: Originally Jedi were not in the game and everyone was pretty damned happy playing. Guess what, people didn't even expect it either. Secondly, the timeline was set so that people were happy with the concept of only Vader and Luke. Then holocrons came along and literally destroyed a segment of the playerbase. Once that happened, people who had resigned their dreams of becoming a Jedi and were having fun in their chosen template decided that they needed to try, since everyone else was.
If you had been in these forums longer than 2.5 months you would know that Fadeus used to be an avid defender of the game and a voice of reason in these forums. You, on the other hand, have done nothing but bitch. I suggest you look in the mirror when you call people selfish.
What?? The playerbase was destroyed because everyone flocked towards the path to Jedi once it was introduced? Gee, sure sounds like "everyone was pretty damned happy playing" without Jedi.
Either people were happy without 'em or the player base was ruined 'cause people couldn't wait to get 'em. It can't be both ways, can it?

Since you seem to obsess over it so much, you decline to recognize that your "objectivism" is not so and your "open mind" is very much closed. The best part was blowing their AV-21's while they were incaped, so they would get it in the ass twice. I loved doing that.

LOL and the most fun I had was going 23-0 agaisnt asshole BHs 1v1 ... I kept a list in my bio for people to read, listng names and dates .... even killed someone twice .... he had a 2 next to his name.
Tho there were like maybe 5 BHs that were REAL good and came DAMN near close to taking me out.
I was also killed once .... but it took 2 of them to do it. And as I recall .... I never got pissed. ... it was just the way it was .... part of the game.

I loved Carbineer. I never really got far in CM...i think I gave up on it at around 3/2/2/2 or something.
CM was absolutely great! I could never find friggin enchancers cause no one wanted to make them but I had a blast with it. I could kite stuff like mad betwee the carbineer specials and the CM dot's and debuffs.

Actually, I posted my post with ideas on how jedi can work in SWG. I did not flame you in any way shape or form. But here is what you had replied with:
