Originally posted by robbykl1415 Originally posted by Malachi1975 Originally posted by robbykl1415 I really dont know why anyone who is remotly intelligent is surprised by this move....it plays right into the plan of the U.S. gov and its allies. The cards are falling on the table just as the U.S. wants. How much longer can we allow this to go on unchecked? Are we going to allow this facist gov to lead us down this path of destruction? There has to be somthing we can do....And for all you out there who still are in denial about or gov and its intentions please just open up your eyes for a few mins. Just read this post or watch the news with an open mind FOR TWO F****** SECONDS! The news, although being the 4th branch of the gov, gives you all you need to know. All you must do it connect the dots. I know it takes some brain power, but you can do it trust me. Just think about for a sec.....first we get a military stronghold in the Middle East by taking Afghanistan and Iraq. That was justified by a "terrorist" attack by this unseen and unheard of enemy that no one ever knew about till 9/11. Now whether that was an inside job or not does not matter. So we get a foot in the Middle East. Now our allie, more like puppet, Israel has attacked Lebanon over a captured soldier. now come on, WHO THE F*** STARTS A WAR OVER ONE HOSTAGE? This is only the beggining of the bigger plan. Now Israel is in a war with Lebanon, and who does Lebanon gets its weapons from? Iran and Syria!! So why is the American gov so agaisnt a peace treaty with Lebanon and Israel? Because now we have an reason to take one over one of the largest OIL producing countries in the WORLD! Syria is a side note. Although to tell the truth, Lebanon has more Syrian weapons than from any other country. Now the Amercian gov will connect this Hezbollah to Iran just as they did with Iraq and Osama. And then what? Where to next for this fascist, imperialistic, immoral, terrorist gov? I just hope someone will stand up for all the people who die everyday cause of this ignorant gov.
Okay, first, can I suggest you meet a new friend called "the enter key". That mess is as run-on as it gets. Makes it kind of hard to read what your point is.
Now, since you are such a grand intellect here to shine the light down on us all...
Israel is going to fight regardless of our backing or not. While I will concur with you that they HAVE our backing and that may enbolden them a bit, they are a country surrounded by people out for their blood. Sitting in your safe little home it's easy for you to wag a finger around and point blame but until you live a day in that life you really don't have foot one to stand on in the way of judgement.
Now when you say "connect this Hezbollah" that really tells me that you're acting as if we've never heard about them before. I grew UP hearing about Hezbollah. They were the Al Queda of the 80s. They're not some "new" group that's been made up by the media to control the masses into some mass-hypnosis syndrome like you seem to think everyone has fallen under. Ask the Lebonese Government who they are? They don't like them. However, due to exploitation of an open voting system roughly 20% of the Lebonese Government IS Hezbollah. This took place LONG before anything that is going on today. Seems to me you've not read much in the way of history over there. As for whether or not Iran is supporting Hezbollah, most of their weapons DO come from Iran. Iran IS a trouble maker, straight out. Ask Pakistan, Egypt, Lybia, or Suadi Arabia. Iranians are "persians" and think themselves above the "arabs". So it doesn't shock me that they would use arabs to do their dirty work for them.
So Israel is at war with Lebanon now? That's odd, last I heard the declaration was between Israel and Hezbollah. If you're going to point out the targets attacked by Israel, feel free to read up in this thread in one of my previous posts, read Sun Tzu, take a few basic lesson in strategy, then come back to me.
It amazes me how you claim EVERYONE is so under the spell of the current government in the U.S. ( though I would like to point out that Hezbollah has been around since at the VERY least Reagan, which means Bush Sr. and Clinton too. You're brainwashing theory starts getting a little long in the tooth here ) but you are STUCK on oil, oil, oil. Do you even realise just how much oil there is in the REST of the world? Yet you can freely spout out phrases like "One of the largest oil producing countries in the world" without a single point of research to back that up? You are sounding like a broken record with the "oil song" going over and over in your head. Oil may be "A" reason but stop trying to sum it up as "THE" reason for everything. You really may want to think about putting your tinfoil hat on to tune out the CIAs brain-manipulating-waves for a few moments.
Now, where you lost me entirely. Military Strongholds in the Middle East by TAKING Afghanistan and Iraq? Are you implying that we've had no real military presence there until we went into those two countries? Kuwait and Suadi Arabia could tell you otherwise. We've openly had bases in those two countries for at least 15+ years. I guess we were looking for another "Military Stronghold" when we bombed the tar out of old MoMo Gadhafi back in the 80s too?
I guess since we're only in it for oil Venuzeula must be next. I mean, they produce more oil that Iraq and we can't STAND Hugo "I've been funding the import of illegal aliens into the United States for quite some time just to mess with you all" Chavez there. And hell, look how much CLOSER that is. Weeee....
Dont give that BULL about you "living the life" blah blah. Turn off your tv and read.
*EDIT* I had a lengthy rebuttal to your deep minded thoughts you so shared above. But alas, I decided I'd sooner waste my breath screaming at a wall to move than bother conversing with you any further. Good day, sir.

You know how you read about wars in the annals of history, that lasted so and so many decades, some centuries, and you wonder how the hell was it possible that anyone could act so brutishly with each other across so many generations? I mean, how could anyone be so foolishly proud to do that, right?
Well, it looks like this. It's what's happening, right now.
It is depressing to see people die, period. Now I voice my support for Israel namely because Hezbollah hasn't given them any terms which they can comply to. "Die" isn't what I would call an easy demand to comply with. I really hope that Israel shows a bit of restraint. I know some civilians have died in their attacks but I don't know if that's possible to keep from happening completely. Especially with Hezbollah going out of their way to hide behind civilians.
What saddens me was to watch the Lebanese Prime Minister choked up today when he was asking people to remain calm. I think that poor guy IS stuck between a rock and a hard place as , and I am parahrasing a CNN reporter here, Lebanon is dealing with the problems of a Militia that it can't control because 20% of their legislature belongs to said party that leads that Militia. At this point their options are to let Israel take a crack at Hezbollah or to start an internal revolution within their own government to remove Hezbollah from power. It's probably easier for them to let Israel have a go because they can paint them as the "bad guy" rather than dealing with the chaos that a revolution causes.
With all the wars the U.S. has been involved in I count myself lucky that it's a minor number compared to some countries and their histories. Hell, all French jokes aside, those poor guys had to endure 100 years of war in their past. It's easy for anyone in a country that HASN'T seen war in their front yard to lose perspective a bit.
I DO hope that perhaps with a good UN/Foreign Diplomacy Party showing there that something can be reached, but as much as I think Israel might listen to said party I just don't see Hezbollah really saying "Oh, okay, because the UN said we should stop we will."

In order for us to secure our oil supply we must maintain a military presence in the region. Israel is an excellent strategic ally, without us they will go under. An ally that needs you is the best kind. Military strongholds in Iraq is a factor. Not so much in Afghanistan. After 9/11, Saudi kicked us out. Osama said leave the Holy Land or else. So we started packing our bags. No choice. 9/11 stung and the unrest in Saudi was destabilising the Regime. We need new miltary bases in the region. Iraqs a good one. It's got oil and coastline it's next to our biggest regional bugbear Iran and our strongest regional ally, Turkey. As luck would have it we had just spent the last ten years politically isolating it, fostering revolutions and degrading it's military infrastructure. It's great to be as smart as us. NB when the U.S. bombed Ghaddafi, it was a reprisal. They did not invade. The circumstances are not comparable. "I guess since we're only in it for oil Venuzeula must be next". It was last. The U.S. already tried to overthrow Chavez and has been fomenting dissent and revolution in Venezuala since he came to power. I don't suppose he was a massive fan of the U.S. before you tried to kill him, but he sure doesn't like you now. He is however rather lucky that the U.S. is militarily overstretched right now. He is getting away with more than he might otherwise expect.
*cough cough* Indonesia and Venezuela? As i see it, the military superpower the U.S used to be is fading away. And therefore their bases around the world are now completely irrelevant. Bush thinks America still dominates the world, which is not the case.
The U.S. has undergone a recent period of rapid military expansion. Both in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
Could you elaborate further about Indonesia and Venzuala please. I'm a little to dense to work out your meaning today.
I concur with Malachi's assesment. I think The israeli's are going to end up re-occupying the border in southern Lebanon. i don't see who else has the infrastructure and the will to do it. And I don't see Hesbollah stopping their attacks out of goodwill.

These types of threads shouldn't be posted at a sensitive time. And not on a game forum.
I have reported this to the admin.
I know people will flame me and say I'm foolish and other things, and if I don't like it, don't post. But we don't need to know about it all the time. It's on the news enough.
I come to MMORPG.com to read about games and other crap, not current world events about people dying. Sorry.
Nice topic for a MMO forum, thx for blasting in your 1.25 cents and dragging a real world set of events into a place we all try to go to escape the very same events
I'd suggest avoiding the OT sections then. While we may be gamers not ALL of us think solely about games. This is the venue for those of us who think about world events to discuss. As long as the conversations stay civil (and I will be the first to admit some have not) then there's no reason to run around screaming "censorship".
The arguement "I don't want to read this type of stuff" is pretty easily rebutted by...don't.

when wars are fought by the poor, and started by the rich who can afford to run for office, wars never end because the people negatively impacted have no power, and the people positively impacted have nothing to lose and everything to gain.(those who seize the oil fields after it's done, those who build the walmarts later)

the hezbollah were forced from their homelands and left to suffer economic deprevation as a result.
it's a bunch of disaffected members of the working class who got screwed over by israels theft of their land.
obviously israel has no desire to meet their demands, else they wouldnt have stolen their stuff in the first place
can you really say the hezbollah havent given reasonable terms? it's like having someone walk into your home with guns, toss you out, kill some of your family while they're at, and then asking the person who just got robbed to conjure 'reasonable' demands.
wtf. it's obvious what they want, it's obvious what they are justly owed.

When all the OT are the major topics, it gets quite annoying to log on and see "Many deaths... or this or some other stupid topic"
It might not be stupid to some people, but politics, wars and religion only lead to flaming. It's a fact and they always get closed sooner then later.
I knew someone like you would say "Don't like it, don't read", but I'm sick and tired of seeing this shit here. If you want to post topics or think it's cool and awesome to talk about war... post on MSNBC.com or some other forum.
There's TONS of people JUST-LIKE-YOU! who could talk for days about this.
I personally do not think it should be allowed here on MMORPG.com. You might be right, and I agree that I don't always talk about games, but on a GAME FORUM, that usually is what is talked about.
SO please take your war crap somewhere else.
This is where you're lost. THIS section ISN'T a GAME FORUM. While it may be part of a Gaming Site many OTHER topics go on here. If I am supposed to be offended that someone "just like me" could talk about World Problems instead of burying my head in the sands of a video game, I'm not. I don't think it's "cool" nor "awesome" to talk about war, but I think it's stupid to play the typical westerner role of "If I pretend it doesn't exist it will all go away!".
Gaming is a diversified community. You get to hear the commentary and opinions of people all over the world how many not have come in contact with one another if it weren't FOR gaming. So it only seems natural that we're going to discuss real life problems amongst ourselves. What you are asking for is censorship. You don't want to see people talking about what YOU don't want to read. I suppose you called you cable company up today and asked them to block CNN while you were at it because you couldn't be bothered to make the conscious decision to skip that channel.
But again, you've made a conscious effort and decision to come right back into this very thread, which you could just as easily ignore, and post. That's part of the joys of liberties and freedom. I can choose what I want to listen to and what I don't want to listen to. No one is forcing me at gunpoint to discuss any of this, I just respect some of my fellow members of the gaming community and enjoy discussing things from other viewpoints. I'm not going to "go away" because *you* don't like what we're talking about here. There's absolutely ZERO justification in your reasoning that you think that couple dozen of us who want to discuss real world issues should leave to suit YOU. That's pretty self-centered.
Now, if the title of a given thread were to be misleading so as to rope people into reading something they didn't want to, I would agree with you. But if you see "We're talking about war in here." Do yourself a favour, don't click it. Anything else would be considered an obsessive compulsion.

who's marching in to kill israel? they're just dropping bombs, and then claiming the bodies belong to hezbollah leadership, since dead bodies cant repudiate that argument.

Israel hasn't denied that some civilian have been killed. That's kind of impossible to achieve when your enemy hides among them. However, looking at Southern Beruit, and area which the Sonora govenment has openly admitted is the headquarters area of Hezbollah in Lebanon I can see why Israel is aiming there.
I will be the first to admit that blasting randomly into a countries lands is stupid, but Israel is by far the lesser of two evils here since they can at least direct their munitions. Unlike Hezbollah who is using the "light fuse, point rocket that way, run" method. Hell, their last attack was so well aimed that they killed dozens of shrubs in the fields.

Who, huh, wha? Are you even watching something like CNN? They list out the deathtolls daily on both sides. They've even gone out of their way to point out that the Lebanese Deathtolls GRAVELY outnumber the Israeli deathtolls. And I've yet ONCE to hear Wolf Blitzer call them anything BUT Lebanese deaths. He's not implying that they are all Hezbollah.
Meanwhile they are pushing sites like BloggingBeruit along with Israel Blogs. I am starting to wonder if you are actually watching the news, Robby, or just acusing us of watching something you've never even seen. Sometimes you make sense, other times you go Jim Jones on me.

Originally posted by cloudoffire I doubt Israel will fail. They have the backing of too many powerful countries. This isnt the first time Israels gone to war either, they fended off 5 other countries including Lebanon. ( with the backing of Britain and USA and the UN, but nothing lasts forever my friend )
Israel is going pretty extreme here but considering all that they have been through it doesnt suprise me. ( it's our fate :} )
30% of the second largest religion is a very big number. Also the hamas are Sunni but they still use suicide bombing and talk about the destruction of Israel ( hamas have quit suicide bombing, if not, they do it way less than before, because they now are manufacturing their own weapons and ammo, and it is their right to say they want to wipe israel as israel says they want to wipe all of Islam ). But if im not mistaken doesnt the Qur'an say that Judaism and Christianity are brothers of the book? Doesnt it say to respect fellow religions? ( of course, but not brothers, but PEOPLE of the book, the people of the book, and yes it says to respect them as they do believe in the same God, but little twists here and there and other major ones here and there, but the Sunni section of Islam does respect, but the problem is, sadly, it is the She'a section of Islam that doesn't, and it is the She'a ( shiite ) who have more power than the Sunni, ironically, and the She'a ( shiite ) respect no other muslims either )
Persoanly i dont think Israel is treating this war the best they should but i believe that they will win it. ( they might win initially, they might win all of Pelistine, but they will not prevail against all muslims, and that is for sure :} )
I dont think that their plan is to take over the entire middle east and eradicate the entire muslim religion(they would be pretty big hypocrites if they did that). They seem to be just fed up with the bombings and the talk of eradication of their people.
But you do know that Hamas are Sunni, or at least claim to be, but they still speak of the eradication of Israel. And that answers your question to the reason why the western world views all islams as Shiite, they control more power.
They are both great religions if they actually follow their beliefs but it seems as if alot of them stray from that.
it's pretty hard to make these vast overgeneralizations of religious entities.
it's like suggesting that all christians are racist, sexist, chavinist, abortion clinic bombing, anti science, hypocritical, kkk, nra supporting land owning white aristocrats who profess religion ostentatiously while really eradicating the rights and status of the working class who mindlessly follows them.

Originally posted by hatebreed0 What I'm about to say is probably going to get me ban, but IDC. I totally hate Muslims. They are cold blooded killers. They have little to no care about themselves or those around them. All they want to do is kill. I don't have to know you and you don't have to know me. All I know is that you hate me and I loathe you. This was mention several times before this goes all the way back to Issac and Ishmael. Hezbollah wanted to go to war. When they kidnapped those soliders, they drew the line. If somebody comes up to you and slaps you in the face. Are you going to turn the other cheek and cry about it, or are you going to grow a set and destroy the aggressor. Granted it is sad that innocent people are being killed. Israel warned them. Either get out now, or you're going to be caught in a cross fire. regardless, when you have civil unrest, war, or whatever, it's the innocent people that suffer the wrath of both sides. I hope this conflict is over soon, cause once Syria and Iran, jumps on the band wagon, the Middle east is gong to explode. Once this does, North korea is going to see this as a chance to flex their muscle and Assist them. So i hope Israel, mops the floor with Hezbollah, infact i hope Israel kills every single of of Hezbollah, Militants. If lebanon wants this to be over, they need to srat killing Hezbollah militants, instead cowering in the corner.

"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."

Israel can probably kick the asses of everyone in the middle east and I'd love to see them do it so we'd stop hearing crap from them. Frankly I could careless about the middle east, it's a jumped up mess of raging lunatics.
Darfur and any number of areas in Africa have my sympathies. The world ignores it and continues to ignore it yet most of the people being killed are civilians.
Good luck placing the blame on Israel, the whole area is a black pit.

I have reported this to the admin.
I know people will flame me and say I'm foolish and other things, and if I don't like it, don't post. But we don't need to know about it all the time. It's on the news enough.
I come to MMORPG.com to read about games and other crap, not current world events about people dying. Sorry.
I'd suggest avoiding the OT sections then. While we may be gamers not ALL of us think solely about games. This is the venue for those of us who think about world events to discuss. As long as the conversations stay civil (and I will be the first to admit some have not) then there's no reason to run around screaming "censorship".
The arguement "I don't want to read this type of stuff" is pretty easily rebutted by...don't.

when wars are fought by the poor, and started by the rich who can afford to run for office, wars never end because the people negatively impacted have no power, and the people positively impacted have nothing to lose and everything to gain.(those who seize the oil fields after it's done, those who build the walmarts later)
we are forever slaves to the will of the wealthy.

the hezbollah were forced from their homelands and left to suffer economic deprevation as a result.
it's a bunch of disaffected members of the working class who got screwed over by israels theft of their land.
obviously israel has no desire to meet their demands, else they wouldnt have stolen their stuff in the first place
can you really say the hezbollah havent given reasonable terms? it's like having someone walk into your home with guns, toss you out, kill some of your family while they're at, and then asking the person who just got robbed to conjure 'reasonable' demands.
wtf. it's obvious what they want, it's obvious what they are justly owed.

Anything else would be considered an obsessive compulsion.

he makes a good point.
when saddam invaded kuwait, we were more than happy to march in and kill back.
who's marching in to kill israel? they're just dropping bombs, and then claiming the bodies belong to hezbollah leadership, since dead bodies cant repudiate that argument.
serious, we suffer from some serious hypocrisy.

I have a good feeling one or more of my post will be deleted due to "trolling" in a forum where I have every right as the next person.
This might be off-topic, but it does NOT belong here.
What if I went to MSNBC and made tons of threads about games... people would think I'm nuts.

I l ove to sit back a nd see all this support for Israel. And its all because you are ignorant. I dont blame you, I blame our news. But I do blame you because you still sit and let with FLITH be fed to you. But I guess thats how you like your news, sppon fed.
Watch the news sometime with an OPEN MIND! Watch how they spin everything in Israels favor. They never say how many civs Israels bombs have killed today. All they talk about is how bad is Hezbollah and his people.

If you could actually go 5 seconds without namecalling your plea for "respect" might actually carry a little more warrant. It's not a twist when I specifically answer something you said. So far, you're the ONLY one here violating MMORPG.com forum rules left and right.
