The Vanguard-haters are truly undermining the integrity of MMORPG. The Vanguard-haters I do not believe are impacting Vanguard at all; they believe they are. I imagine if they used this angst for something constructive (as opposed to destructive) they would be not so moody and emotional on the web page. The reality of the game in its current state is so far removed than what it was at release (and what Vanguard-flamers/haters/trollers/losers claim). It was a fluke that I resubscribed to play Vanguard again, and I am astonished with how much the game has improved, how much content was added, bugs fixed, performance improved, and so forth! I would be dishonest if I did not mention what a turnaround the game is taking. However, as one who enjoys MMORPG a great deal, I find that the Vanguard-haters will engage in viral marketing, flaming, and even personal attacks to sustain the idea that Vanguard is not making (remarkable) progress.
I am also very concerned with SOE's involvement; but I also find it encouraging. However, it is crucial for Brad to remain creative direct control and the majority shares of SIGIL. In the game, I have found that there are three people: (1) those who hate SOE; (2) those encouraged by SOE's involvement; (3) and those that are indifferent.

For all the finger wagging you do about haters but one could easily argue that you are displaying the exact opposite side of the spectrum and neither does the gaming industry any good (part of the reason why vanguard is in the shape it is now is the rabid fan support). While it is great that you rediscovered Vanguard by accident and enjoy the game. That doesn't mean anyone should put aside their anger at what Sigil has sold them. They knowingly released an unfinished and broken product with all the best intentions of fixing it. Nothing that can be said excuses that and certainly doesn't prohibit anyone from being angry over it. It sucks that they ran out of money, but that doesn't mean the gaming community should pick up the tab to finish development. It is strange how this wasn't a SOE IP, but yet it has all the traditional markings of a SOE launch.
While I thought Vanguard has massive potential and enjoyed what I did play, it is long past time for companies to stop releasing games with promises of potential. For similar reasons I hope LOTRO is a smashing success because it launched in very great shape even though the game isn't personally for my tastes.
In the end people supported this game because they had faith in Brad and he broke that trust. People have a right to complain about it.
Absolutely, and I condemn (and I continue to condemn) the early release of Vanguard, viral marketing, and other issues.
However, I am referring to the (daily) dishonest and disrespectful posts I read from Vanguard haters/trolls. I know they are deceiving this community in addition to undermining the quality of discussion here and the standards we hold ourselves to. I have already been accused of being a "shill" a "vanboi" and so forth because I am reporting what the game is currently like. However, if you are honest, the Vanguard haters/flamers will try to back you into a corner and shout-you-down to prevent any reasoned and meaningful discussion on the strengths, weaknesses of Vanguard in its current state.
I believe many (most) people realize this but have given-up on trying to do anything about it. I have not (will not).
