Actually I HAVE already played it, and will never again...
Its so funny how people keep saying "something you have not used "... just because you fanbois didn't get into beta doesn't mean the rest of us didn't...
I actually had high hopes for Vanguard, until I played it... and I'm not talking about bugs and whatever that are expected in beta, I'm talking about the core mechanics
Then if you read what I said carefully you will realise my comments have nothing to do with you at all , as I clearly state people who have not used the product , thats point one , point 2 a FANBOI , hmmm how so I also clearly state I have not wished to state a view on said product till I used it , there was no gushing , fawning , pleading for beta key nothing , so what you have yet again proved that trolls react before reading , researching carefully and most of all act before they think...That aside , you have tried it and didnt like it so err dont use it , read my quoted by you post , now it is time for u to try something else , go out , get a hobby or get laid as WHINGING is no replacement for said activities and will never fill your personnel disappointment and failings ..

There is a differance between someone talking shit about a game just because they don't like the company/devs/whatever, and being an anti-fanboi, and a whole other to someone like me who had high hopes for this game then after playing beta saw those hopes dashed on another derivative of EQ

so let me get this straight.....you had high hopes of vanguard not being similar to eq when you should have known beforehand that it was being developed by one of the creators of eq?
and not only that it was explained clearly in the FAQ since before beta even started what the combat and core mechanics of the game would be like.
what exactly were you expecting it to be? i think you are FOS you were ever anticipating vanguard, judging by your posting history you love to hate on numerous games that are not named "age of Conan" now that is rabid fanboism at its worst.
As I said, I didn't expect it to be a DERIVATIVE of EQ, but the next step forward, not just a flashy new grind, taht isn't very flashy (Dilpomacy)

Oh man let go of your sad little hate-on for a minute. Vanguard is just a sweet game and you don't have to hate it for Conan to be a success too. Vanguard is definitely the next step forward, no amount of trolling you do can change that, but hey, whatever plies your pud.
ok anyways. away from all the bickering and crap.. i have high hopes for this thing... i LOVED EQ1.. and im sure the devs can create something to take my breathe away again.. keep up the awsome work is all i gotta say
also dont come here if your gonna diss the game.. wrong topic.. find one that says maybe.. feelings or thoughts of vanguard.. anywho.. its looking like a solid game whether you like it or not.. im sure it'll be a hit and wouldnt be suprised if it lands #1 on the boards

I am one of those players that have played em all, seen some rise and seen some fall, and if theres one thing that I personally feel gives a MMO an advantage and longevity it is within the communication between the player community and the Devs etc. How well they listen, how well they communicate with the players.
Not just when they implement ideas from the community, but even when they say bluntly "we've thought about it, and decided that idea isnt going in" its all good communication and like I say in my experience the games that continue this player interaction are usually the more successfull.
So thanks to Aradune, whatever the motivations were for this post, right or wrong it has given me much hope for this game, never stop the communicaton with the players and I can see this game going far.
I for one look forward to trying open beta with restrained anticipation

Vanguard will be good as a niche game for certain, but their main marked was SOE hating EQers who wanted more of the same without shaking hands with the devil... and now its just more of the same...

I think that a CEO of a MMO company takes the time to address some concerns of the player shows a great deal of respect towards the players.
Would you rather game developers completely ignore online communities?
As previously stated, it really doesn't address concerns from players.
I don't think anything Brad does or says will address the concern in relation to the SOE / Sigil relationship, but thats for another forum.
Realistically, this is a poor PR stunt, trying to save some face and win over some fans following a series of negative blows to the game. As I mentioned, the SOE link up, apparently poor reviews and feedback from the inital testing (of course this could be SOE haters spreading rumors to discredit the game), delays in the launch (wasn't it originally aiming for Q3 2006, and now its Q1 2007?)
I for one was very excited by VSoH, the team putting it together, the plans for crafting, gameplay etc but I'm not rushing out for this one. When it is eventually launched, i'll give it another 6 months and check on the reviews because at present, I think this could be the biggest disappoinment since SWG NGE hit. Claiming to be a WoW killer - thats setting yourself up for a huge fall imho. WoW is far from perfect, but 7 million gamers testify to it being a great game.
where have sigil ever claimed vanguard would be a wow killer? can you please link a post? cause i can't find any.
what I can find is several posts stating the exact opposite though...
