It is exactly what I do...I play an mmo just to dress up /sarcasm Really though, the females I know, including myself, play to play. We have fun. Its not most of them, its the minority that does that, you just see them a little more because they don't really move.
Well, in my experience, women are far more interested in novelty pets, and gear that looks good, than men are. As well as being willing to chat about it.
A generalization only means "most" not "all".

Ahh...well, hopefully no female will waste the money to do that so I don't have to see it. Lol. I admit I make my character(in character customization) look pretty but the armor that I go for is the one best suited for me.
Well, i"m a 42 year old reasonably adjusted adult so there is never an issue as to whether or not there is a problem with women playing. I just don't thnk that way. Women always make a nice addition to any gathering as they are interesting and inciteful people.
Inciteful, indeed. Gotta love the Freudian slips.

Thank you - Thank you!!! I am of the female side and have been playing mmo's for a few years. Your right, we balance out the fighting spirits of the males, and bring more chat and fun to the game. This game is one of the better ones I have played since wow, and really look forward to the 18th for start up. I belong to a guild that does have about 5 ladies, and we are really a super group. My char, which I will carry on is a Priest-Chanter. See you all online shortly, that is if your on Zikel server.
ITT: Lonely fags praising women gamers even going as far to say they're glad women are playing mmo's? Claiming they are "interesting" and other nonsense? WTF!? Women don't belong in our manly games, they should be in the kitchen making you a sandwich while you are playing Aion. I am disappoint in you all..

Not sure what you are implying. I mean "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar".
It is true that I don't agree that everyone is the same. I feel that there is a politcially correct movement that seems to want to gloss over people's differences rather than embrace them.
so sure, women are people like men. we are the same species, have the same wants and desires with the exception of personal tastes and should always have the same rights. Women can excel and surpass men and vice versa. they are not aliens or inferior or even superior for that matter. They are just people.
but I also know that many times women are more comfortable with certain subjects and in my experience can be better communicators. Does that mean all women are better communicators? no. Does that mean all women (like someone joked above) go shoe shopping and wear pink? No of course not.
Though if one were to poll the women that I know you would find that most of them own far more shoes than the men i know. To add to that, my girlfriend is not a shoe shopper and probably only owns about 7 pairs of shoes. 3 of them the same shoe different colors. My ex owned LOTs of shoes.
I've known only 3 men with an extremely large shoe collection. But it is what it is. i don't think that makes people with large shoe collections better or worse.
However, as to my comment I have noticed that women can be more open to discussing things, than men. I have completely different conversations with my female friends when we are alone than my male friends.
So yes, they can be quite insightful and offer up suggestions that my male friends would just never do. I don't think that makes my male friends less capable but perhaps they just don't have the interest?
One could say that noting differences is wrong but I personally think that we should revel in our differences and not gloss over them. Does that mean "every" woman is the same? Of course not.
Where it is a bad thing is noting differences and then penalizing or holding back rights because of differences.
Also, societal differences have a huge part to play. Not only from country to country but region to region.
I still think of the day when I was talking with a certain lady from the south (U.S.) and she turned to me and said "I don't see why I have to cater to the judgments of others when it comes to my relationships. all I want to do is to support and cook and clean for my man. That is my right and what's wrong with that?"
And my answer would be nothign. You have your life and your choices and regardless of what society pressures you to be , you can be who and what you want. And should always have that right. Whether a person wants to cook and clean for their significant other (be it male or female) or spend their lives hiking mountains and wrestling gators, they should always be able to freely excercise their choice to do so regardless of what others think.

good call. Touche. I'm not adding the alphas and betas I didn't end up playing, because they don't really count.
Sorry if my gender is misrepresented by girlfriends who were suckered into joining WoW and never bothered to learn how to play.
I will admit Aion is a very -pretty- game, but I think you're lookin' at the anime Otaku demographic for a lot of the statistics, which happens to overlap a bit.
Me, I'm just playing it because I'm bored with everything else.
I also consider myself very inciteful. ><p See you in the Abyss.

I agree. One of the best healers ive ever played with is a lady. She played a holy dark elf priest in wow. She is a player, she leveled her toon in holy spec when others leveled in shadow. I asked her about it and she said holy was more of a challenge. Make no mistake, not all girls use mmo's just to play dress up.
Right. Just most of them.
Aren't we all playing "dress up"? I mean, if you wanted skilled pvp without the "dress up", you'd be playing Couterstrike, Quakewars, or Crysis. C'mon guys, admit it, you like barbie dolls...

true or not I know my G/f is wanting to play (we both did CB and OB)
She is the type who will spend 3 hours in the character gen getting everything just right, then kicking your ass on the battlefield in a pretty pink dress.
me on the other hand I had fun with the game, but it seemed lack luster and just same ole same ole so I will be more than likely passing on the great hype that is Aion for now.
