Threads like this could/would not exist if people actually read the terms of service and Eula. You can't sue, no BBb report would lead to anything negative over this matter. You want an example of getting away with fraud review mortal online... Company even plays favorites and gma give gear to their buddies... Yet no legal action. You want to make a statement? Quit... Forget the game exists... All your doing now is advertising it as a edgy rebel that punked you out and made you emotional.
Because of this thread I subbed for 6 months. I like how they boldly remove players like you from their game and have you reading the yahoo legal questions forum.
Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it.
No high res textures? After you said it was a bug and being fixed? How can anyone pretend that Bioware knows what they are doing now?
1. No forum search function.
2. No UI customizability.
3. No viable way to consistently play varied builds (No dual spec and uncapped respec costs).
4. No queueing for specific Warzones.
5. No server forums.
6. Phasing still remains throughout the game, while it was said that it was only for the beginning zones and only for a short time after release.
7. No proper LFG feature. Not even a global LFG channel.
8. Many people still have performance issues even with the lowered graphics, especially in 8v8 PvP. 8v8.
9. Unfinished CE shop.
10. No world atmosphere.
11. Tiny draw distance for ground effects.
12. No race variety.
13. No macro or addon support.
14. Ability delay.
15. Simultaneous US and EU maintenance. As if they can't afford two maintenance crews like pretty much every decent MMO on the market right now.
Seriously? Sure, individually these are not gamebreaking but combined they really make you wonder what the budget was spent on.
There seem to be those that believe it is financially possible and physically possible to add every feature from every previous mmo before launch in a polished state in less development time than all previous mmos, although it took some of those games literally over a decade to create and implement these said features.
Gone seem to be the days when an mmo was to 'grow' after its initial release, now we demand a 'complete' ever growing game which already has everything we ever wanted, but magically can still add more of what we want. In short, we are demanding a 'feature', which is unobtainable.
The game is not a month old, could you folks let them spend some time with their families before crying foul and their slow pace of adding features.
If you compare this game's features at release with every other mmo's release features, it may not be at the top of the list, but it is a long way from the bottom. As mmo's go, this game is proving that there is a continuing trend that we as customers are receiving more at release than previously. They made decisions that resulted in a fluid polished, playable game - if they put the lfd tool on the back burner to make that happen, I am happy.
I slogged through EQ with hand drawn maps created while I played - I can certainly be patient for an lfd tool.
true games will grow but rift has almost all those features at launch.. I'd rather them of had most of those at launch and not have to work on them now and concetrate on getting more content out.
Why does everyone always bring up Rift? Look at rift now, its so freaking dead they are giving the game away. Give it a couple of months and it will be F2P.
I also bet, more than half the people complaining on this site about TOR don't even play the game. Oh well, in a couple of months they will all be complaining about GW2.
I cringe whenever I zoom in on some armor the textures are that bad. As a matter of law a company can not shield themselves from liability through an EULA where they have commited an illegal act. I don't advocate it, but if there is a reasonable demonstration of fraud on their part the.Eula's arbitration contract is worthless, but over what 60, thats a bit out of context. Much easier just to boycot their products.
It seems like the Bioware of old is gone and it is just EA now.

Umm if a company like Trion could do it, why on earth can't BioWare with the biggest MMO budget ever?
Also, nobody is demanding ALL of those features. It's the fact that it has NONE of them. I can't think of a recent AAA MMO release that has had this many missing features and issues.
Stop defending the clear problems that a AAA MMO in 2012 should not have.
P.S. If you wanna pay $15/month while SWTOR takes a year catching up to other 2011/2012 MMOs go ahead. I'll save my money.

Lol, if Rift is dieing and it had all those features and more content what do you think is going to happen to SWTOR?
Showing certain graphics in a games trailers and then the actual graphics being worse is a really big deal for video games. I hope people do not allow them to shrug this off as they are trying to do.

same reason people go on to say no other games came out with these features at launch when they did. Also why is rift dying? oh because instead of trying something new the took the same old tired themepark model used forever now and added some flair to it instead of trying some real creativity and tryo to break the mold at the gameplay level.. hmm sounds like a very familiar story...

If that was really an issue for most people, Square Enix would have gone out of business years ago.
Generally, most consumers know the difference between game cinematics and gameplay footage.

So umm... Why do you think you accept that stuff filled. With lines like "game can change at anytime" "game is in continous development and all changes are at the discretion of the developer"
reading is a fundamental concept that has answered questions and spread knowledge for thousands of years.
Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it.
I have everything on high and TBH the cutscenes to me were not noticably amazing compared to general gameplay.
There are definitely texture in custsenes that look relatively crappy and not what I would call high res.
If I hadnt already stopped playing SWTOR I might be mildly annoyed but lets face it, this is EA we are talking about and their marketting folks do like to tell lies. Best one of 2011 had to be "We are developing BF3 with PC as the primary platform" followed a month after release by "well we did that for the first little bit of development then switched to PS3 for primary platform after that, we just forgot to tell marketting so they kept saying PC was primary" lol.
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (also referred to simply as E.T.) is a 1982 adventure video game developed and published by Atari, Inc. for the Atari 2600 video game console. It is based on the film of the same name, and was designed by Howard Scott Warshaw. The objective of the game is to guide the eponymous character through various screens to collect three pieces of an interplanetary telephone that will allow him to contact his home planet.
Warshaw intended the game to be an innovative adaptation of the film, and Atari thought it would achieve high sales figures based on its connection with the film, which was extremely popular throughout the world. Negotiations to secure the rights to make the game ended in late July 1982, giving Warshaw only five weeks to develop the game in time for the 1982 Christmas season. The end result is often cited as one of the worst video games released and was one of the biggest commercial failures in video gaming history.
E.T. is frequently cited as a contributing factor to Atari's massive financial losses during 1983 and 1984. As a result of overproduction and returns, millions of unsold cartridges were buried in an Alamogordo, New Mexico landfill. The game's commercial failure and resulting effects on Atari are frequently cited as a contributing factor to the video game industry crash of 1983.
Maybe we are looking at the sunset for mmorpg's. It does not seem to be getting any better only worse. I mean now there are mmorpg for EVERYTHING. This same shyte happened in the big crash back then. People were thinking that video games were cool and then all of a sudden the McDonald's Grimace games came out and they were all like whaaaaaat?

How many people play these games zoomed that far in at all times? I like to actually look at the game world around me sometimes. Zooming in doesn't accomplish that.
Also, any internet lawyering about fraud over any of this would get laughed out of a real attorney's office. You'd spend more money paying that lawyer to laugh at you than what you paid for the game box. If it bothers someone that much, just quit and move on. Simple as that.
Wow. This thread is pretty noisy for something that has zero impact on gameplay. The things we complain about these days.
Except that gameplay is far from perfect....
Nothing is perfect in any game... Period... Perfection doesn't exist or there would be no room for innovation. Also your dis like is an opinion. Opinions are not solid point of views that strengthen arguments because opinions are not facts.

Well in a sense they have a point but not the one they were trying to make.
Forum outrage really doesn't do anything. The response given by SR was given because they believe no matter how mad and noisy the forums are... people will continue to pay.
If many people are actually upset they don't have to post anything. They can simply unsubscribe from the game... If BioWare actually saw a massive loss of subscribers... you would get a very fast response/fix to the issue.
Forum noise just brings out the trolls (fanboi/hater) and gets non sense responses from developers.

Qazaam it does your not in the majority no one knows who's the majority yet so accept the fact that they fucked up and deal with it, yes even BW can mess up and yes they are false advertising the game it's reality.

No one has proven anything about this false advertisement claim. It's speculation. Many sets of gear in the game have better textures than others. They could be referring to bh pvp gear as Omg high quality textures and then sage robes as low quality. That's still the case, nothing has changed so please... Show me these hq videos and screenshots then show me the same locations with same character/gear and identical pc setup post launch. Sounds like a lot of work huh? Well that's what proving your facts are so if you're going to call facts... Get to work.

well said sir. and for the record, the features that are not there are kinda rediculous for any AAA MMO at launch. It is hard to see into the development team and understand where trade offs were however...
For example, if they left out space and put it in during an expansion or something and got some of the basic stuff working ( listed above ) i think there would be less headscratching.
Amazes me however to think how much they spent on development and this is the result ? I guess that voice stuff did cost a ton because it came at the expense of other standard MMO features
So they built SWTOR on a terrible graphics engine that crumbles when high volume of players are on the screen and try to tell their players it's working as intended, they are just confused?
This isn't a tech issue on the user end. There are far better looking MMO's currently out and being developed, than SWTOR. They messed up and would have more respect for them if they didn't try to pin their bad design on the user, but instead just out right say "our engine can not handle the load the game will crash".
This is the first time I agree with detractors of the game. This issue is a big deal and Bioware will lose customers over it. The hero engine is flawed. For me personally, it is not that bad.... still loving the game for now.... hope they fix it come expansion time.

But nah, mmorpg put what 8/10 on graphics ? And when we complained about it we got a warning for trolling ?
Anywayz, unsubbed yesterday, BH story was pretty ok even for a reroll but still doesn't cut it, this game's at a F2P standard, not a 13€ a month.
