    I think it's horrible.

Unless of course they are tyring to insinuate that anyone can be force sensitive.

But then "if everyone is special then no one is special".

In today's gaming world, "everyone is a GODLY HERO!" is pure gold...in financial terms of course.

Being force sensitive is no more special than having Blue eyes...

How strong you are with the force is determaned by Midi-Chlorians

"Midi-chlorians were intelligent microscopic life forms that lived symbiotically inside the cells of all living things. When present in sufficient numbers, they could allow their symbiont to detect the pervasive energy field known as the Force."  - Wookiepedia.

Its a genetic trait to an extent.

And to what extent? It appears it's going to be completely generic now...which makes nobody special. Or a hero.

Again, at this time in the Star Wars univers, it is EXTREMELY common for someone to have a lot of Midi-chlorians.  Its like we went back in time to the land of the red heads.

If you don't get that reference, red heads are going to be extinct soon, seriously, because their recessive gene's are being bred out of the global gene pool  in less than 100 years there wont' be any natural red heads left.

So no being force sensitive doesn't make you special, but neither does being a red head, or having blue eyes, or curly hair.

The point is, the gaming industry on the whole caved in to the theory that "everyone should be gods and heroes" and that's exactly what you're going to get with SWTOR. Everyone is going to have these powers so if you think that an entire universe of force-choking people running around is "Star Warsy" then by all means, have at it. Personally, I find the idea revolting, just as choosing a Jedi from start in NGE was.

Perhaps one day MMOs will just let you start at max level, max powers, max gear and max money. Why not? They're almost there as it is, getting to max level in a week is common practice in this down-trodden industry.

So when exactly did this change take place?  I remember it being that way since my little fighter scored millions of kills in asteroids, and let's not forget the plumber who started a gaming revolution or how about the two foot tall elf who put together the tri force, saved the princess and the land of Hyrule.

Sorry guys but gaming didn't being with SWG (the best known example of a game where it's fans tout)"it's great because you aren't some hero but some average joe.

There are also the witches of Dathomir (remembered them out of the blue) who have never been trained as sith or jedi but they have as ful access to the force as those two orders did.

What exactly a bounty hunter is getting I am unsure but there is nothing lore breaking about a bounty hunter able to use force choke especially in the way it is currently implemented, you can only use the legacy power with a companion out and ona twenty minute timer.

To be honest this isn't all that exciting. I doubt I'll ever use this "once in a twenty minute" power on any of my toons. I do like the opening up of races, but being that your race options in this game are limited to begin with, again, nothing all that exciting.

Most of the time I felt like I was an agent on a mission, and only a few people in the whole galaxy even knows that I exist. I really really like that post Kuinn. I saw this thread on the front page and came to your post.

I like how you described how the game felt.

Kuinn's feelings are perfectly correct and valid...until you talk to the other agent that is.  Once you talk to another player playing an agent, it will become all too clear that he is doing the exact same missions as you are, and your efforts have no real effect on the world.

The immersion of SWTOR is exactly the immersion of a single player game.  It works fine when you are the only player in the universe, but once you introduce someone else...it falls apart.

Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?

Creslin's exactly right. It's a great game, but my problem was no matter what class I played, I really couldn't find the difference in "story immersion" between this game and any of the other MMO's I've played. It just felt like....gulp....WoW, with a few changes and of course dialogue wheels.

Actually, I watched a video this morning and laughed my ass off. Reminded me exactly how I felt back in beta. Meh, still a good game though. A really good single player game with some fun battleground / flashpoint diversions.

For instance a Bounty Hunter will be able to unlock Force Choke.

Why would they do this?   Doesn't this totally go against lore?   Bioware was all ready playing lose with the lore, but isn't this going a little over the top.  Also, if they do this, what will Force Users get?   Will they get the ability to use blasters?

For someone like me that has yet decide if they are going to play the game someday, this is not helping to put me into the mood of doing so.   So what does everyone else think about this?

So you've been trashig the game all this time, yet you have NEVER played it? Interesting...

Didnt she also write a review or such about the game and gave it something like 5/10. Kinda funny from someone who has yet to decide if they are going to play the game, oh well, nothing new around here.

She certainly did. I always thought that reviews should be written from first hand experience, not what you read on message boards.

My beta experience was enough for me to say what I said about the game back before it was released.   Funny that the things I said about my in game experience is being mirrored by other players that have spent countless hours in the game.  Many of them are former huge fans of the game.   Those same fans that lasted less than month after the games release.  Fans that said this game would have 6 million subs and crush WoW.   LOL!

Disagreeing with fellow posters and/or providing info to back up claims is fine. However, making a post simply to call other users out is not. Refute some points in a civil manner and don't make it the sole reason for your post and these posts are always decided case by case.

I agree...even in my weekend betas I could tell what the game was going to be like.

I think they thought you never played the game at all though...they were confusing "never purchased" with "never played."

I would trust Teala's observations in beta as a MMO vet over 99% of the pretend players we see posting on these boards.  I may not always agree with her unlike most of the posts here she tries to make rational arguments rather than most of the emotional and I am right because I say I am posts we see here.

If we only had more posters like her this forum would almost be readable.
