Yeah that was one of the worse thing for me.

I was coming from ESO and GW2, and going back to doing nothing except spell rotations killed it for me.

And yeah, the lack of free space killed the housing for me. Especially since Hacker/Gold spammer would auto buy free terrain before anyone could get them.

Heh.  Yeah, the only time I really had to move my Tauren's butt was in LFR.  The funny thing is, I didn't get a fancy mouse (G600) until I started playing ESO.

At least ESO seems to have solved its goldbotter/spammer problems; hopefully it'll stay that way until housing is introduced ... whenever.  Probably about a year from now, after they get the other systems in and ironed out.

It's really funny fighting in cyrodiil against other players who are 1) high level mages who just AOE all the time and don't need to care much about positioning or 2) lower players who haven't really fight this style of MMO combat. I had many fights against people 5 VR higher than me that I win because I'm always hitting their back lol. .... then you have others that just bat swarm me to death, which requires no positioning as well '-.-.

You know what game taught me circle strafing when I was barely 13 years old? OUTWARS :)  learning curve was really steep in that game though.

I don't pvp much, I don't think I'm good at it, so yeah, you could easily trash me, too.  :)   It's just hte build I have, as a templar, I do need to care about where I am (at least in relation to NPCs attacking me - and where they are in relation to me.    One of my "little tricks" is, if I have a group of 3 attacking me but are spread out, I can use binding javelin to "herd" them. ;)  I CAN'T stand still until I stunlock the ... dears ... with that spear spammy move.

I was never really a computer gamer, I came from tabletop RPGs like AD&D 2nd, W:tA 2nd and Earthdawn.

It took me a very long time to understand how and why "gear" is important in computer games (it certainly wasn't in the games I played - Garou barely wear anything, and if the entire pack of cliath puppies has a klaive, you're doing it wrong.   And good gear in our AD&D games basically meant a good pair of boots, a good long loop of  rope, and a grappling hook.)

Lol, at this point, exept for EVE, I voted for the loosing one.

And the DDO vs. EVE is a loss for me either way as they are my two favorite MMO's.

People aren't voting *FOR* LotRO, they're voting *AGAINST* WoW.

It would be nice if some of you people would actually give LotRO a try in its current incarnation, being that it's apparently so much better than WoW and all...

I used to play a lot of GW2, and even if I don't plkay it anymore, it was among the best MMORPG I ever played.

    Pro

    - Uniques Classes : Each classe has a very distinct play style. Unlike Wildstar where each classe played the same. (Loved engineer and Necro)

    - No trinity.

    - Action combat. I saw some hate directed toward it, but I don't get it. It's probably the best combat with Tera. Winning fights wasn't static and dull, it was all about timing, knowledge, strategy ect.. I felt like played a chest match : When to use dodge, when to block ect..

    - Server Technology : Overflow server, Live update, no down time, Big ass fight with no lag (after the culling bug got resolved)

    - Fast leveling, dynamic event, fast action dungeon. I never been a PvE guy, but I rolled Fractal so many time and Liked it. It was challenging and fun!

Sure it's not just about me, but even If I don't like the game type of EVE, I can reconize how it can be fun. I don't get why people attack GW2 like this. Maybe because it didn't follow the same patch as GW1?

    GW2 hater explain me.

I'm not a GW2 hater, but I am someone who no longer plays the game. The big issue with GW2 is that they focus way, way too much on the gem store. It gets 10x the updates of anything else in the game. Not to mention their better devs seems to have left; the 2-3 zones they've added post launch have been both hard on the eyes and a complete pain to navigate.

Also, several of your points above aren't necessarily pros. No trinity means no dedicated healers, which is what I prefer to play, and makes dungeons in this game rather painful at times. The new megaserver system they added was also a huge mess for roleplayers.

And damn its good to see WoW crash and burning.. get it off the list and good riddance! I cannot believe it made it to this level as crappy and dumbed down that game has become.

Just the vocal minority in my opinion. I experienced only a handful of "broken" quests that weren't actually broken. Just the number of people in the area made respawn times hiccup at launch. There were 1 or 2 from lvl 1-VR that needed devs to actually fix. Some big issues with the bank system, but everything was fixed in a month or two. It's really the adrenalin gamers that pushed through content as fast as possible or the players who don't care for the lore of TES games that had the issues.

You should play ESO and figure it out for yourself. Right now the issue is class balance, but even WoW never perfected that... especially since a year after launch it was still in bad shape (programming wise).

I have played both ESO and Planets side 2... and I voted Planet Side 2.. it was more fun.. The ESO joke didnt do it for me.. sure they may have fixed some of the bugs, but as with most games out and coming out... EQN included They are all the same... Nothing new and exciting, just rehashing the same crap over the last 15 years.

So Planet Side 2 gets my vote on this one. Its different and better P2W settings aside I like the style of game play and the MMO feel of it. Matter of fact just how many MMORPGs still feel like MMOS? with all the auto services like LFG and Raid finder doesnt anyone else feel that most MMORPGs are more coop than MMO?

Played: UO, LotR, WoW, SWG, DDO, AoC, EVE, Warhammer, TF2, EQ2, SWTOR, TSW, CSS, KF, L4D, AoW, WoT

Playing: The Secret World until Citadel of Sorcery goes into Alpha testing.

Tired of: Linear quest games, dailies, and dumbed down games

    Anticipating:Citadel of Sorcery

The cash shop gets updated once every 2 weeks, just like the game is. Systems are regularly optimized, latest being the daily/monthly revamp. Also the cash shop mostly rehashes old content that is considered exclusive, E.g.  marjory's daggers or kasmeer's staff. Just because a game has a cash shop it doesnt mean the game is heavily focused on it, like, Perfect World Entertainment.

And those new 2 maps are called, in general, the maguuma wastes(it should look depressing). Not to mention that those are probably the best desert landscape in a MMO. Most MMOs (if not all) just replace the same flat texture for their deserts.

Also there is no trinity, correct. There are roles though, just not the ones you are used to from WoW/EQ.

And dungeons are only painful if you don't know how to synergize the available classes.

I do get the megaserver rant though. But IMO it has more pros than cons, coming from a non-roleplayer. But yeah i get that point!

I voted for LotRO, simply because I felt bad for their 3 team layoffs this year. this game deserves to make it to Mordor before hitting maintenance mode.

Woot! LotRO! There might be a day when the LotRO community turns into a bigger pile of trash than WoW's, but it is not this day!

One does not simply play WoW for the great community.

"Fly, you fools!" -Gandalf, warning the Fellowship about how awful the Balrog (or WoW, perhaps) is

No, but seriously, the LotRO community is great, if for nothing than because it's been wittled down to the players who simply love the game because of what it is, and no more. On my server, we have '*The* Troll (anyone who is from Arkenstone knows who this is),' and that's it.

Okay, that's all I have to say ^-^

I've been playing WoW since vanilla, but I'm so happy to see LOTRO is beating it so far in this round (knowck on wood). It's gone downhill and the game is such a ghost of it's former self.

Uh, have you actually ever played LotRO? "gone downhill and the game is such a ghost of it's former self." Currently describes LotRO better than any other game.

I didn't vote for ESO vs PS2 or GW2 vsTSW because I've never played any of those games, and therefore I 'm not fit to comment on any of them(though I suspect that TSW is great ). I'td be nice if the same thing were happening in the LotRO vs WoW poll.

LotRO/Turbine is being suffocated to death by WB, and they kicked out all of the raiders. I'm "that guy" on the LotRO forums that's still begging them to make raids again, and in endless battle against the solo-only Turbine syncophants there that should not be emboldened by a poll like this letting them pretend that their Hobbit Pie Simulator is somehow "better" than the game that still does raids.

You guys are voting for LotRO just to take WoW down a peg, yet you won't even download the client and maybe give it a much needed boost. Please put your money where your mouth is.

Glad to see TSW > GW2. I do believe it is the better game of the two.ESO vs TSW would be an interesting final.
