Isn't that interesting? Like it was some sort of Damage Control that is being done; because everything about SC is and shall forever be negative.

But shhh, don't tell anyone, it's all a conspiracy, after all.
Right, there's no correlation between the rampant, sick propagandandizing of a facade of a product, fleecing of gaming customers, and comments providing insightful counterpoint.

Oh yeah keep telling yourself that, valid arguments are not discussion of conspiracies and opinions that are far beyond confirmation by facts. Now this? Walls of text will not be what gives you credibility.

Again it's preferable to talk with people who can have neutral standpoints, then with walls of bias that pretend they have a neutral standpoint towards SC/CIG.

Yes, of course we realize it's easier to discuss in an echo chamber, as SC subreddit and the RSI official site.

Oh lol! Legit discussions are made by both sides of a story, don't come here acting like I'm some random idiot and I'm not aware of some people around here who only put effort towards negativity, that's not any legit discussion; it's people doing the opposite here of what you complain about that happens there. ;)

It is well possible to have balanced discussions here, just not with the users who are pursuing one agenda.

I will NOT have discussions with people like him; as he claims he is ALWAYS RIGHT; idk about you but I'd prefer not having discussions with someone else's ego. lol

Actually its not the update its the spin of this whole Amazon thing. I have an idea theyre not mutually exclusive, along with the timing...Christmas Eve? Really?

I never said it was negative per se. I said the engine still wont do what they claim it will do. Thats not negative thats holding to the same claim.

As for being right or wrong I have certainly been more right than wrong and the only things I can accused of being 'wrong' about are simply things I have said wouldnt happen havent happened.

The NEXT time they do something I claim they couldnt do, they actually do do and implement in the game(and not some faked video) it will be the FIRST time.

Look at the stuff they HAVE actually implemented and were 'big deals'...Persistence...put in but only at a bare bones minimum and hasnt been added to since. Procedural planets...how many do they have? One? Or is that one even in the game yet? Star Marine? Ready to release 18 months ago, scrapped, no reincarnated in some random FPS nonsense where lag (and despite Amazon tech still massive lag) is the determining factor in 99% of encounters.  Those are the big 3. I am sure there are many more that they have tried to put in just to say they exist and spin it like its a great achievement.

I said it was good news on one hand, but bad and neutral news on the other.

But this update looks like more of the same old same old. Everyone is waiting for 3.0 and all the stuff they claimed that would have. SO a year from now maybe. Lets hope they dont have another secret deal and announce that on Christmas Eve as well.

For me this is not bad or good news, it's the same thing we have now that turned with a platform change with the potential to be good news to the game as long they make good use of it.

Remember the whole "Gamescon faked" tech demo thing? You were literally the only one who were defending it as such, and you still are  "I AM RIGHT!" about that topic, you keep telling yourself you were the one right and would spin anything as something else to ever dodge the POSSIBILITY of being wrong, it is why no even trying I could take you seriously.

Quicker I could take DS seriously than you, at least he has some bases to stand on, independent of how much he overblows things out of proportion and manipulates things as he sees fit to transmit the narrative he intends.

It was faked. WHEN they pout that in the game and someone does it LIVE then I will say its possible. But that still wont mean that video wasnt faked.

There are so many cut shots and 'glitches' and changes of point of view and pahntom movements with people not pushing a mouse moving a  joystick or touching a keyboard its hilarious, and of course the views from inside or the guy (and ship) sitting their motionless even though theyre moving on the other view. Or even the whole mounting the dragonfly in the first place with the floating debris not in the same spot between shots.

When they have it so you can unpack a dragonfly (or any 'mount'), get on it, take off, fly through a debris field to another ship, fly INTO that ship, land it, dismount and walk around and close a hatch. THEN I will believe it. I doubt they will ever be able to do all that, despite them showing a video of it that everyone but me apparently thinks is real.

    When is that coming again? Is all that supposed to be delivered in 3.0? Or just some of it? Why isnt it in the game now? They showed it in what Sept?window.post_1482601147109_8 = function(win,msg){ win.postMessage(msg,"*"); }window.post_1482601147910_23 = function(win,msg){ win.postMessage(msg,"*"); }

And that is when I won't even bother anymore. Keep telling yourself whatever you want, as you have the right to your opinions after all, without the need to throw them down everyone else's throats into acceptance of what YOU think.

You will make your own conclusions and call them the facts; hence discuss anything with you is an attempt to have a discussion with one wall; anything that isn't the reply YOU WANT is "excuses"; the ego is just too much for me to even attempt to deal with, as you always have to be on the rightfulness and will put labels on people who do not agree with you.

Merry Christmas, I "salty" one I would assume but still.

If Erillion had prettier hair, and was a little less rabbity, and perhaps removed the rose-tinted goggles, she would be very attractive.

Is there a game, that in anyway reflects the promised game in toto, non in parte?

    No. Not "in toto".

Yes to "in parte".  Still in development, still in Alpha phase.

The closed thing at the moment is the gameplay on the "Crusader" map.

The upcoming Alpha 3.0 should be a vertical slice of the gameplay, centered on the Stanton system and its four settled planets.

You are obviously a huge  SC supporter. Honestly, do you see it releasing in a form approaching the pledges in the next 2 years... or 5 years?

Absolutely no way it'll be released (in a form approaching the pledges) in 2 years.

all I want to know is when I can fly down to any planets surface.  That's all...

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

"Any" planets surface .... that will take some time (as in .. years).

Star Citizen planets are not procedurally generated like those in NMS or E:D ... PG is only used in designing the planets in a first iteration, but then a developer reworks the basic PG generated planet. That is why you do not have 100 billion planets in Star Citizen.

Selected planets   (e.g. the planets in the Stanton system that will be the first fully fleshed out system) ... i would personally expect that sometime in 2017.

There is no official announcement w.r.t. to that ... so we can only speculate.
