Ok, my friend perry wears eyeliner. He isn't gay or anything, but if he was it realy isn't relevant to this thread. Well the principal has got on to him in the past for wearing it, saying he can't and stuff. We have a dress code at school, and nowhere does it say that guys, or people can't wear eyeliner.
Well, one day I decided I would wear eyeliner. I didn't even know the principal had gotten on to my friend about this before. I just did it for the heck of it. Well anyways, I come to school and the principal calls me over the the teachers table at lunch. He tells me that I can't wear it again. I didn't even think for a second it would be against the dress code. So, I politely responded, without a tone or raising my voice "ok, well...can you tell all of the girls that too?" He and a teacher sitting in front of him begin to mauck me and the female teacher says "what are you going to do wear a dress next?". Remember, I did nothing disrespectful and they are saying this stuff to me? I just said no to this and asked why I can't wear it if girls can. He said its a disruption, and at this point he begins taking an aggresive tone with me. I once again without a tone reply...."well isnt that a little sexist? Saying that girls can and guys can't?" The female teachers starts yelling "Just drop it Robby!" and the principal begins threataning me. He says If i want to "push it" any further that he can suspend me or something like that. So, i just back away and said "Ok, I was just asking a question."
Ok, so then perry gets in line for lunch and everyone is talking about how the principal was getting onto me about the eyeliner. Someone tells him to go put it on, because for some reason he wasn't wearing any on this peticular day. So, he goes to the bathroom and a teacher evidentally overhears and goes to tell Mr. Dodge, the principal.
Mr. Dodge comes literally stomping down the hallways (hes a very tall man mind you, at least 6 feet.) and starts screaming at perry at the top of his lungs. He comes out, gets in my face and yells "if you wanna make a big issue about this, well make a big issue about this!" (and he pointed his finger one inch away from my face) and then he stomps off.
Get this, he calls my parents with the message. "Yeah, I was wanting to talk to you about Robby....We had some trouble at school today, I talked to him about wearing the eyeliner and he practically incited a riot. And I wanted to talk about his hair being in his eyes, teachers want to see his face in class"
My parents were enraged at me, they about took away everything I own untill I told them the real story. Its kind of funny, he didnt even say anything to me about my hair being in my eyes. And, this is the first time it was ever in my eyes, and it was only covering one eye. And, I hadn't had any classes with my high school teachers because I go to another school for half the day, come back for lunch, then go to class. So, what he said implied that teachers were complaining about it, when that is impossible. He was trying to exaggerate things, and manipulate my parents against me. Wth is this? Having hair in your eyes isn't even against any rules.
Anyways, yesterday they called my friend perry down to the office again, and lecture him about it, and say they can punish him now. Is this fair? Isnt there some sort of constitutional right saying they can't discriminate like this? Well, he was going to have his mom come in and fight for him. But guess what they did? They called his step-dad, who is in another state (hes a crop duster, hes all around the place. And he isnt even perrys legal guardian.) and tell him about it, when they could easily have called his mom. See though, the thing is perrys mom has been in school for many things before, defending perry against teachers harassing him and what not. Well, they call his step dad, and his step dad was infuriated because he believes you should kiss authorities ass. And now hes got his mom turned against him, because he pulls in the money and if she fights for him then the money wont anymore apparently, so she has to keep him happy. Isn't that dirty? the fact they would call his stepdad who is in another state? Now he can't wear eyeliner or anything, his mom just told him to take it off because she doesn't want to deal with this.
CAN SCHOOLS DO THIS? CAN THEY DISCRIMINATE LIKE THIS? It's eyeliner for gods sake, and they treat it like its terrorism. What do you all think?

Because you act like you're 2. Drop it and wait until you get home to play transgender.
Guy's should be severly punished for wearing eyeliner...
Unless it can get you the premium split-tail...then by all means, have at it!
But if you're doing it just to be rebellious then perhaps you need to be stuffed in a sack and beat with a ball bat!
In the end there can be only one. (highlander)
The fact that you're making such a big deal of it implies that your priorities are not in order: You should want to placate the principal, not question his ideals. What do you behind closed doors is not his business, but what you do on the grounds that he is responsible for is.
Getting into a good college requires that you kiss ass and suck up to others; it's the sad law of the land, but unless you're in a seat of power you are in no position to question others. Go get a job and see how tolerant your boss will be of your attire.
He is obviously overreacting, but for you to rouse him in such a manner is not only immature, but stupid: This year should be the busiest year in your highschool career; you should be busy researching colleges, taking SATs and studying for AP exams. The time that you are using to make your life more difficult could be spent otherwise.

Bah, better the kid rebel with eyeliner than take a knife or a gun into school like some do these days... looks like some perspective is required from all parties.

You know that other school I am going too? It's a technical school. I'm taking a computer Networking class and studying to get my A+ and Net+ certifications. I'm not going to college, I'm going to study at my technical school and get certified, get a job that pays about $15 right out of highschool.
Btw, I didn't do it to rouse my school principal, I didn't even know you could get in trouble for it and wasn't even aware he had got on to my friend about it. And btw I have the right to question someone if they tell me to do something, its my right as a human being.
Oh, and as for the person who said that I should quit wearing womens attire....men wore makeup long before women did. Egyptian royalty wore it, and later women were ALLOWED to wear it.
Also, I quit wearing it after he told me too, it was just a one time thing for me, to see if I liked it. But for my friend perry, its his look and I don't think its right what the principal is doing.
One more thing, chicks dig guys with long hair and eyeliner. I had chicks say that I was hot that never noticed me before.

Freedom to express themselves has always been looked down apon the American people. If you aren't a "cookie cutter" like the rest of the lemmings, people will point and try to punish that person for such a reason.
I understand what the OP is saying because I too was once "different" then the other people. Wearing bright plastic beads and whatnot (I was a candy raver).
People always are so quick to make a snap judgement. To me, I applaud the OP for being just that... different and not like the rest of the lemmings who thinks a tee-shirt and jeans is suppose to be on everyone in the world.
15$/hr ...
Don't even bother going to school to work for 15$/hr. Just drop out and cut lawns.
You'll make more... seriously.
Please, forgive me for mistaking you for college material and give my salutations to the mobile home community.

Yes, because people who set up cables and networks and repair computers make SOOOOOO little money. $15 /hr right out of high school is great. and, If i can get a job working for the local cable company, I get free phone, cable, and broadband. Also, with my certs I could get a job with computer repair eventually and make tons of money. Don't make fun of computer people, its thanks to people like me that your even able to reply to me on this forum.
