Well you should read his opinion then.

Ok, I read them. He makes valid points. I would never go to a job interview wearing eyeliner. Then again, if I went to the job interview I would obviously care about getting the job. I don't care what the system at school thinks. I can differintiate between school and the workforce. I think it all comes down to what I care about. The technical school I go to doesn't give a care what I wear, a boy over their has blue hair. So, I mean...If they did care, I would definitly kiss their ass making sure that I don't get in trouble. The thing is, I only take 3 classes at my normal school, study hall, English, and U.S history. So them, I don't care what they think. I know that if you do care about something, you should ass kiss the system that that something is under, however. But hey, I'm done man... I've got the opinions I asked for, and it's over for me at least.

Well Somepeople call me Mr. Cleo.. So i'll give you a free tarot reading.... Dont be suprised if Marcas needs to speak to you one day in private, because he has to tell you a "secret"... that he's wanted to tell you for years..

Gender roles? does that mean you are against femanism? (sp?) do you think women should always wear dresses and never blue jeans? because thats how it was! Do you think women should always stay in the house, cook, and clean even if they want to get an education and make something real of their life? (not saying that staying at home isnt real, just saying that if women want to do something else no one should say they can't/shouldn't.
No... You might be alittle young to understand this but gender roles dont mean much for women these days.. But you try being in a healthy relationship while not following some gender roles... Men are held by their roles.. They are expected to provide so Atleast have a job.. They are expected to do more physical work.. and to be a protector... I can't wait for some guy to attack you and your Gf has to beat him up... because you dont want to mess up your make up.. I can bet she wont be with you for much longer....

This isn't about me wearing eyeliner people, its about my friend. I was just messin around, but this is his serious look. He wears the tight girly jeans, girly belt, and wears eyeliner. He isn't gay, and hes a lil emo....But hes one of my best friends and hes honest about who he is. And, I don't think anyone should tell him that he can't wear makeup if he wants to. This has been his look for awhile, its him people...and now they are trying to take it away.
Again.. .Dont be suprised if he has to tell you a "secret" in a couple years.

One more thing, I have a girlfriend...She thought I looked good in it too, and she likes me for who I am as a whole, and has the entire time we've been going out. I don't need attention from girls, I have a girl I care about. I was just making the point that it obviously doesn't look that bad on guys.
Umm it's your Gf's job to support you.... People lie to make each other feel good... And if it's not a lie... See if you can get your Gf and another girl to make out with you in the back of your car... Well ... as long as you dont mess up your eyeliner..

You are emo and you have bade taste in music... tisk tisk

I can respect that your taste in music is different, but since when is black metal considered emo?

I dunno, I'm just giving you a hard time because I don't like eyeliner or cradle of filth... And I'm really bored, but seriously check out trivium or symphony x or apocalyptica or dream theatre or even mudvayne, cradle of filth is just creepy...

Lmao, your cool dude. You remind me of my friend D-wayne. I like to argue too, actually thats pretty much the only reason I come here. I've heard a little of trivium, I tend to lean towards more symphonic bands tho. I like Dark funeral, Dimmu Borgir...stuff with a keyboard, or an organ. See, I like death metal...but I just can't get into it as much as I can black metal and symphonic stuff. Love lamb of god tho, they are considered death metal right?

heh. and to get a few things straight XD:

    Trivium - Complete, utter trash.

Dimmu Borgir - Older stuff is great, newer stuff just kind of... eh.

Cradle of Filth - More trash. I think i've heard 1 song from them I liked.

Lamb of god - Metelcore. Not a bad band for being metalcore, however. One of the few.

    And...

Ildjarn - What black metal should be. Pure, raw brutality .

But, now that i've completly strayed off of this topics purpose...

Ok, nobody cares about your opinion, so go preach it someplace else. I'm not saying I like those bands, but don't insult someone elses interests just because they're, GOD FORBID!!, different!

Excuse me for being ignorant here, but where did I insult him exactly? The bands, yes, I insulted them, but not the person.

Don't worry about it man, I didn't take it personally. I respect your opinions, I will always have my opinions and everyone else will always have theirs. I'm not going to argue anymore, because that's not why I started this thread. Just like I'm not going to defend my relationship to methane up there, I have no reason to.

So what's the point of starting a thread if not for some friendly debate? You wouldn't have my "I'm right you're wrong" attitude if you didn't think you were right on some level.
Don't worry, I'm an asshole, you don't have to use the humble attitude around me. Just say it: "I started this thread because I wore make-up to school and someone told me to take it off. That's BULLSHIT. Am I right? Damn straight I'm right."

Now that you have become honest again, I'll continue calling you a tool.

Oh, and edit: The ?! in the thread title connotates your disturbance with what is being said. If you honestly just wanted opinions you wouldn't have included that.

Oh yes the 1st lessons in life of who has the power.

Public schools can do whatever they want for 1 reason and 1 reason only.

    The reason is this:

Public schools are really just extensions of the Government. My daughter is 3 and i send her to a private school.I pay for it so they do what i say.If i even have a little complaint they jump as high as i say.Public schools on the other hand DENY any parental involvement.

That aside let me say this.

Learn to pick your fights kid.Look at the shit storm that got stirred up for eyeliner.Make it something worthwhile and not only will you be the center of attention but later on in life you wont be remembered as "the kid that wore eyeliner that 1 time and caused a bunch of shit".

You got all your stuff taken away and for what?

    Eyeliner.

oh poor me I can't wear makeup and make myself look like a total freaking moron!!!

Schools have every right according to the constitution to put an end to anything that they deem to be standing in the way of the learning process...and if your stupid looking face makes me not want to learn because I am too busy laughing at you...then yeah, put away the compact.

Once again I hear this same topic. I agree that we have the right to exspress ourselves, only when the person who see us expressing ourselves, is our self. Even though everyone says America has the most freedum. We dont. There is so many laws, rules, or regulations that doesnt allow us to live by the constitution.

This is all based on technicallity. If you want to be yourself and be who you want to be. The only place you can, is in the privacy of your own home. Its the only place where you will not be discriminated by the outside world.

I dont care if you dressed like a women and tried to be one, doesnt make you gay. Makes you kinda weird, but who isnt in there own way? Just keep in mind. Most Americans label, discriminate, judge, and hate from appearances.

I personally believe it is better to be who you are and not someone your not. Sucking up and kissing ass will only get you so far in life. Half the time, "pretending" too be something your not, kicks you right back in the ass.

Ok, my friend perry wears eyeliner. He isn't gay or anything, but if he was it realy isn't relevant to this thread. Well the principal has got on to him in the past for wearing it, saying he can't and stuff. We have a dress code at school, and nowhere does it say that guys, or people can't wear eyeliner.
Well, one day I decided I would wear eyeliner. I didn't even know the principal had gotten on to my friend about this before. I just did it for the heck of it. Well anyways, I come to school and the principal calls me over the the teachers table at lunch. He tells me that I can't wear it again. I didn't even think for a second it would be against the dress code. So, I politely responded, without a tone or raising my voice "ok, well...can you tell all of the girls that too?" He and a teacher sitting in front of him begin to mauck me and the female teacher says "what are you going to do wear a dress next?". Remember, I did nothing disrespectful and they are saying this stuff to me? I just said no to this and asked why I can't wear it if girls can. He said its a disruption, and at this point he begins taking an aggresive tone with me. I once again without a tone reply...."well isnt that a little sexist? Saying that girls can and guys can't?" The female teachers starts yelling "Just drop it Robby!" and the principal begins threataning me. He says If i want to "push it" any further that he can suspend me or something like that.  So, i just back away and said "Ok, I was just asking a question."
Ok, so then perry gets in line for lunch and everyone is talking about how the principal was getting onto me about the eyeliner. Someone tells him to go put it on, because for some reason he wasn't wearing any on this peticular day. So, he goes to the bathroom and a teacher evidentally overhears and goes to tell Mr. Dodge, the principal.
Mr. Dodge comes literally stomping down the hallways (hes a very tall man mind you, at least 6 feet.) and starts screaming at perry at the top of his lungs. He comes out, gets in my face and yells "if you wanna make a big issue about this, well make a big issue about this!" (and he pointed his finger one inch away from my face) and then he stomps off.
Get this, he calls my parents with the message. "Yeah, I was wanting to talk to you about Robby....We had some trouble at school today, I talked to him about wearing the eyeliner and he practically incited a riot. And I wanted to talk about his hair being in his eyes, teachers want to see his face in class"
My parents were enraged at me, they about took away everything I own untill I told them the real story. Its kind of funny, he didnt even say anything to me about my hair being in my eyes. And, this is the first time it was ever in my eyes, and it was only covering one eye. And, I hadn't had any classes with my high school teachers because I go to another school for half the day, come back for lunch, then go to class. So, what he said implied that teachers were complaining about it, when that is impossible. He was trying to exaggerate things, and manipulate my parents against me. Wth is this? Having hair in your eyes isn't even against any rules.
Anyways, yesterday they called my friend perry down to the office again, and lecture him about it, and say they can punish him now. Is this fair? Isnt there some sort of constitutional right saying they can't discriminate like this? Well, he was going to have his mom come in and fight for him. But guess what they did? They called his step-dad, who is in another state (hes a crop duster, hes all around the place. And he isnt even perrys legal guardian.) and tell him about it, when they could easily have called his mom. See though, the thing is perrys mom has been in school for many things before, defending perry against teachers harassing him and what not. Well, they call his step dad, and his step dad was infuriated because he believes you should kiss authorities ass. And now hes got his mom turned against him, because he pulls in the money and if she fights for him then the money wont anymore apparently, so she has to keep him happy. Isn't that dirty? the fact they would call his stepdad who is in another state? Now he can't wear eyeliner or anything, his mom just told him to take it off because she doesn't want to deal with this.
CAN SCHOOLS DO THIS? CAN THEY DISCRIMINATE LIKE THIS? It's eyeliner for gods sake, and they treat it like its terrorism. What do you all think?

Why make yourself stand out in public if you do not want to deal with all of the attention that is surely going to come along with it?  It just takes a little bit of common sense.

I just wanted to say I applaud you for not conforming to the social construct that are gender roles. Nothing biological dictates men to wear jeans, and women to wear skirts. Nothing biological is instructing women to wear makeup and have long hair. The people who dislike you outfitting yourself like you do have been indoctrinated by social norms. They could use a sociology lesson or two.

Keep it up and incite that riot. I would. If the females at your school are allowed, so should you. Remember - this is the type of stuff that, if you persevere, could make the news and change the way people think about issues like these.

*edit* your principal seems to have something taught to him while growing up and now he's passing it on to all the chidlren in his school.

Big deal, there's boys wearing makeup. Big f-in deal. But if he's gonna be a bully about it, then just stop. Take the high road and stop wearing the stuff.

    Amen.

To the Thanatosx33 [hope your still reading], I say stick it to tha man . You've got a right to be your own person. If they press it try threatening them with legal action on the grounds of sexual discrimination (mind you it could end up that everyone is banned from wearing makeup, but I doubt the girls would let that happen).

To all the shitpickers getting on this kids back, for many species out there its the males that do the dressing up and showing off, and men have been wearing skirts/dresses far longer than trousers so quit bitching.
