I don't try to be endgame, it just happens . I guess if you play a while in any game, you will be close to the "endgame". Until a new expansion comes out that is.
CC+Pulling was marginalised in newer MMO it seems. I remember Vanguard having ok CC though. My main reason for playing EQ is the difficulty of some of the group content and pulling and CC is definitely part of that.

1)How did EQ manage to get Sandbox to switch over to Theme Park mmos, back in the day?
2) Was EQ hated on by Sandbox fans, like they currently do now when it comes to WoW?
3) What do you think made the MMORPG industry…

I think that it would certainly bring in new players, but the type of players a F2P deal would probably bring in would most likely hate EQ and the veterans of the community would hate them.
Hate is a st…
I don't see that happening. EQ has expansions and updates, on a much larger scale than F2P games. It's not that costly to play, if you want to join EQ. I don't think making EQ F2P would benefit either the game or the playerbase though. It's certainl…

To me, as been into the MMO world for around 10 years now, has seen that MMO's which forced people into grouping to be able to play the game, have been either a failure OR has been deserted (epsecially after WoW rele…
I prefer the hardest content and best items to be only available to the most dedicated raiders. It builds character and it nice to be in a community where good gear often denotes a good player (not always, but often).

I don't believe it would have mattered. People are either content or not, you can only become content with a game if you learn to accept it's flaws. I think UO players have done just that, and so did I for EQ and so did many others for WoW. It takes…

First of all, I never said EQ1 was dead. I don't have the numbers, but the last time I played EQ (early June), the game still had a substantial number of subscribers, but they were mostly all in raiding guilds, …

"Whose idea was it to tune the classes to be too weak to solo?"
That's a valid question, but as someone that played EQ from '99 to '04 and only returned to the game this year I can say:
*Any class can solo now*. …
The most important thing for me. I can play a game with mediocre graphics if the gameplay is good, I can't play a pretty game with bad gameplay. I might be persuaded to try it because I like the graphics though.
Sometimes it saddened me because a friend wasn't playing anymore, but once I joined a good guild again I forgot about the former friends and made new ones. So no, it doesn't sadden me at all now, I'm happy.
