solareus I stopped reading your post when you compared SoE to Farlan/NCube. I played Vanguard and while I agree the game wasn't very good, certainly SoE did not go around billing people who quit or bill anyone multiple times in a single month.
Here is what I'm wondering. How can the developers afford to let people play for free? How can they keep the game up making no money? Or is it just for box sales? Seems like at this rate these guys will be making like 40 bucks a month lol.
Yep these guys played on my server (Atlantic) on Ultima Online. They basically had a ton of people and zerged everyone back in the day. On their website they would say stuff like "we greatly outnumbered our enemies but the cause was just". None of …
So it's a trojan on the Istaria Horizons site that looks for World of Warcraft passwords? Thats a bit unusual....
Don't count on the Horizons staff to do anything about it though, I don't even know if they have a staff anymore....
I tried this game out a few months ago and it wasn't necessarily the worst game I've ever played but I saw very few people(if I'm playing MMO's there better be a lot of people!) and the people I did meet didn't seem too happy with SOE. I got bored o…
So let me get this straight. Instead of working on the numerous low subscription (really in need of help) games they have, they are going to add yet another one? Damn I really feel bad for people playing their other MMO's. It doesn't look like they …
I am also trying to put together a decent gaming computer. Nothing over the top, just good enough to run the new MMO's coming out like AoC and Warhammer. I currently have an HP but I have heard that Dells are pretty good? I guess 2 gigs of RAM is go…
Like was said before, I think the fact that EA owns Mythic may be something that will hurt the game. EA has a terrible record with MMO's with plenty of cancellations and game closings. They rush release dates and produce run of the mill games. Lets …
That is a very stupid move on their part. Some people have to quit the game due to financial issues or military obligations. A lot of people would probably not return in their characters were gone. Seems like a bad idea.
I don't know a whole lot about this situation but I can tell you this. ANY guild/corporation/kinship/etc. in ANY game that has that kind of relationship with employees working on that game would make me VERY suspicious. There's a difference between …
Sort of playing Lord of The Rings, I have to agree that none of the games out right now really interest me. Played UO for 8 years and still enjoy logging in once in a while. WoW got WAAAY boring as soon as I hit 70.
What you propose sounds exactly like Ultima Online pre-UO:R. No levels(still aren't any, thank god), you gain skill and stats as you perform actions. No carebear lands for people who can't handle fighting other people. If you don't want to fight, yo…
I will be returning with KR as well. If EA sees the population rise, they will likely be more willing to continue modernizing the game and adding new content. Ultima Online is not a hugely populated game like World of Warcraft but it is certainly no…
Hehe maybe SOE will buy it since they like buying struggling MMO's. I thought the game was pretty decent when I used to play, I don't think it is a failed game, just bad companies have owned it. In the hands of a decent company like Mythic or Turbin…
Holy crap, you say only about 100 people still playing? I can't believe it could possibly be that low! I thought 10,000 subscriptions was borderline for MMO's? Since you seem to know quite a lot menkure, how long do you think Horizons will last?
