In theory is it the best idea in a long time. No full quest journals, no doing 10 quests at the same time, no running on and off to the same questgiver 15 times to be asked to kill 10 of a slightl…

If it truly scales like they say it will, then I think it will be fabulous. Dynamic events that can actually be done solo / duo / trio all the way up to raid sized and rewarded fairly for it will be a nice change of pace. Rift attempted to do this…
They're already showing a focus on raid content, expected, but very disappointing. I don't understand this concept when you consider that the majority of the playerbase of any game doesn't care for or participate in raiding. Considering the horrib…
Originally posted by spades07 still yet to come across it. Everquest was the sort of visionary mmorpg but it really went off the path with Luclin, and PoP. In the end it was an almorgation (sp?) of ideas. So yeah still to come across it.

World of Warcraft. The only MMO I"ve played since I started with EverQuest back in 1999, that I actually enjoyed for more than two years, because it was fun and not because I was addicted.
Originally posted by Kalfer Well, I would also say, that Star Wars itself is not what it used to be. To me the magic is long gone... Even for the old movies. My patience is spend, and I think the prequels are fine. It's all the other stuff Lucas % F…
I do business with Time Warner Cable and they pride themselves for fast gaming connections. As far as I can tell, they don't throttle a damn thing and I get my 10Mbit throughput no matter what it is I'm doing. If they changed that policy, I'd not …

Today's developers either don't get it or are just really, really lazy. Housing that is integral to the virtual world has an enormous impact on immersion. This instancing, apatrment style housing just isn't even worth the effort to implement. Mos…
I'm getting tired of raiders having their feedback given more credence than that of other play styles. Most people don't raid at all, yet we have so much of our gameplay dictated by this very segment of the player base and it needs to stop.
By the way, when I explained this on my cancelllation questionaire, their advice as to group up more as they admitted this was a game much more geared towards grouping than soloing. Which is fine, but I prefer a lot of soloable content in my games …
The only two classes I had any interest in playing were the Tempest of Set and the Ranger. I had a lot of issues with adds and supposed soloable instances and quests that forced me to run through packs of mobs. It was bad enough that I didn't care…
That's the whole community. Halgar is European and Telon is American. If you like a more hardcore, group centric game, then you'll like Vanguard. Be aware that grouping can be difficult unless it's peak time.
If you have a mid to high level…

agreed. I think if you are bored of this type of game (mmo's) then Rift will not convince you but if you still love mmo's then you will probably love Rift for what it is and not…
I'm not burned out on MMOs, I'm burned out on crappy ones and yes, there are plenty of MMOs out there that do not even remotely meet my criteria of fun.
By the way, I'm very much looking forward to Star Wars The Old Republic. It has a nice mix of…
I just can't stand the simon says approach to combat. 5 or more clicks to get off a single attack, I mean really? I'd much rather have the feedom to press my attacks in any order I please and switch them up when I get bored with the same pattern a…
