And that is training only Spaceship Command Skills constantly and non stop. So as soon as one skill is doe you immediatly have to start the next in order to achive Titan in that amount of time. And honestly your not going to train only Spaceship command for two years there are other skills in the game you need above spaceship command to function properly.

I've been playing for about 2 weeks, and I've been playing almost the entire time. Taking time to sleep and eat and what not but I've been paying as much as I possibly can and the game does get a little boring because you have to sit around wait for your skills so much. You just kind of get bored like you do in real life you know. You can't just sit around and mine all day or go kill NPC's just to pass time. This game makes you wait plain and simple.

You're getting that 760days from EVE mon.

You forget to add in the fact that the Titan is the most uber ship in the game and there is only 1 in existance. (that I know of). So, only 1 pilot can fly it at 1 time in the entire 1 server.
There are ppl who can fly them and that's all that matters. Even if you could fly one, you will never fly one unless you play 2.5yrs anyway. Nobody is going to give you one and they are priceless.
That's like saying: "You could go to school to be a doctor for 8yrs, be in practice for 35yrs and be the best in your feild... but you still won't be able to drive a gold plated Bently."

But anyway. The ppl with those skills didn't take that long. They have maxed out all Learning skills and can probably afford +5 implants.

Yeah... I just checked it on EVE mon and you're using Newbie Stats. I almost have all my learning skills maxed, yet only 4.5mil SP. (which isn't crap). I can't even fly a Dread. It would only take me
Total time: 252 days, 9 hours, 14 minutes, 15 seconds
That's with hardly any SP compared to most ppl in EVE. That and my Perceptioni and Willpower is very low.

    13 Perception
    16 Willpower

Without my implants but with my learning skills. There are people who have 20+ perception and willpower without implants, then you add +5 implants to that......

Lets take a look if I had 25 percep and 25 willpower and 15 memory and 13 Int.

Total time: 137 days, 8 hours, 34 minutes, 39 seconds

623days or 1.7yrs sooner than your original "760d"

EVE will never die. This game is quite complex. EVE is a game for intelligent and some what patient people. Its not your typical mmo for 15 year old kids. Im not saying there arent young people playing, i just mean in general. Alot of people are turned off by the tutorial and dont even give the game a fair shake. The system/interface is wonderful and works almost flawlessly when you consider the complexity of the game. As for the new players being target practice for the vets... wtf do you mean? Do you people really think that there are players with Titans sitting at every jump gate just waiting to pwn each and every new player that comes through? The reality is that there will always be a BIGGER FISH!  I dont care what you play. Get a grip and tone down your egos. Most of the people whining are the power levelers who cant just go to ebay and become Uber players over night. Who cares if you cant catch the vets when there is a constant flow of new players comming into EVE that you will be able to interact with? WTF are you thinking?   I like this game because there is no real way to power level. It keeps things fairly honest.  On top of that it gives people with lives the chance to be fairly competitive as well. Not everyone can sit in front of their PC for 9 hours straight after they get home from work or school. Most people who whine about eve are the p lvlers who cant just go to ebay and instantly become uber over night. If thats who you are just stay the hell out of eve. From what I have seen most players in EVE are very very helpful. There is a place in every Corporation for players of every level.  If you came into the game and soloed for 2 months then thats your own fault for being so unsocial. Its an MMO! MMO games are made for interaction and teamwork man. As for the time between jump gates and stations you need to use Instas. An insta is a bookmark that you make right at a station or gate which allows you to jump directly to it. That way you dont have to spend the extra minute flying towards the things. Also if you were playing for 2 months you should have been able to use Micro Warps and Nice afterburners. Did you ever level any skills? You do know thta you can buy new skill books from the market right? Did you spend the time on the tutorial? Probably not. You new people who are thinking about trying EVE here is the deal. If you ar a HAck n Slash kinda person then just dont bother. If you like games that are VERY strategic and fairly complex that will keep your chracter growing for years then give it a shot. If you want some help then drop me an email. I would be happy to show any new players the ropes. In game name is Rylynn.

In some respects, don't all MMO's make you wait? Sure, you can reduce your waiting by personal effort in most MMOs, but generally, it takes so many hours of your life to hit a good lvl over so many days.

Yes, the gallentee titan training time does seem daunting. Heh. But honestly, it's not really a big deal if you look at it. While very powerful, they can also be very vulnerable if they are caught by an enemy fleet.

But honestly, there are so many ways to have fun with the smaller ships, each can have a valuable role in a PVP fight and can offer challenges with NPCing.

It also seems from your post that you are not part of a corp. Go and find a good group of people, it'll help with your enjoyment a lot.

    Hope that helps, God Bless

ps...Demonknight, I would very much like for you answer my post about the metrics of success so we may have an effective base for dialogue.

pps...for those who oppose that post, well, I respectfully disagree.

Guess what , CCP merge with White wolf so guess what eveonline is here to stay and also any mmo with at least 100k subcribers is a sucess games dont need millions to be good .

this thread really has to close down stop feeding the trolls they only grow more and more hungry.

Not sure how you calculated that but it's totally wrong. If you want just the skills needed to fly the titan and nothing else it will only take you around 260 days (avg attributes, no implants). Sure there are a lot of other skills you should get too to fly it ok, but even if you add them I very much doubt you come to 760 days.

Yep you may be pretty much right here but you would have to be an ideot to just train those skills and not do anything else. Even if you did do this you still wont get that titan because  all you would be able to do is fly it. And you wont be able to afford one. And finally the corps who you could join that can get one wont get you one because you would be a virtuall nobody.

I dunno how you can rebuff that site. The person they are interviewing, Helmar, is the CEO of CCP. He owns the dang company. No, he doesn't have a spreadsheet giving the exactly number of subscribers at that exact minute; So he's going to say about 150,000. I'm looking at the Eve Login screen and there are 24,865 players online right now.

CCP is doing great, as someone already mentioned CCP is merging with White Wolf. White Wolf is a company who has been doing pen and paper RPGS for 20 years. THey're taking over all of Eve's offline stuff, so they'll be working on the CCG, novels, graphic novels, art books, pen & paper rpgs, board games, and maybe even some models. This will introduce Eve to quite a large crowd. All your manga junkies can go to barnes & noble, and see Eve Online by Naruto and Bleach manga. We might start seeing novels in librarys based on the Eve Universe. Hobby shops will be carying strategy Eve board games. So we should be seeing Eve's financial status increase along with its fanbase.

I just had this wild idea.... What if the game is actually popular. O.O And it actually isn't some well planned "mmorpg.com.... THEN THE WORLD" conspiracy. But then it being popular is not possible according to yall, so it must be world domination ccp is after.

That is if WW is not in such financials woes that it brings CCP down with them. WW has been floundering and dying for a long time now. The management was lousy and they ran off all their best developers. Everyone I know that still plays WW games are playing the 1st and 2nd editions and not buying any of their new releases.

I'm no fan of EVE, but I hope for CCP's sake that they didn't make a bad decision "merging" with WW.

Well, I've never played anything by White Wolf... Heck I've never played pen and paper rpgs. But from what I know CCP is taking control of White Wolf, and will remain in control of their IP. And since CCP has been quite sucessful so far, they probably will head off anythign stupid White Wolf might try and do.

The general opinion of the small subset of the EVE population that even knows this site exists is that its a cesspit of idiocy. Nobody is bothing to come spam the ratings.

The amount of people playing any MMOG is up for debate. The number of accounts, especially when you have week-old official data, is not. I'm not sure what your point is, or even if you have one other then being sad that you were just terrible at EVE.

that would be a good thing. they've really gone downhill in the last ten years or so - in spite of the video games released based on their IP and the multiple attempts at optioning the same IP for films.

the pen & paper RPG industry is dying as a whole (everyone plays MMOs!). the only company making any money is Wizards of the Coast (they publish D&D). WW has made a number of changes that ran off their customer based (changed the entire setting and game style), their staff for the last few years have been less than capable (for instance the chick in charge of shipping the final versions of the books to the publisher just didn't - and still didn't get fired), and their management has frittered away the company resources on themselves.

if they were still doing well, they wouldn't have been on the market. hell, maybe the guys at CCP played their pen & paper games back in the day and decided they'd keep the company around for old times sake.
