Right, because EVE online is the only game where people vote for what they like

And I doubt there is sticky thread on WoW forums where dev member is rallying people to go vote, if there was this site would choke from lag.

I don't think you realize how many hits this site gets.

On behalph of the fans of ccp...your welcome.
On a serious note tho if anyone doesant want eve to win then by all means vote for your favourate game. Same goes to everyone really and if eve wins again it will be because people who like eve voted for it which is what this is all about.
If you dont vote for your game dont cry over the fact your game didnt win.
I honnestly don't consider these awards fair untill every mmorpg community (Lineage 2, WoW, EQ2 etc etc) is informed of these ratings.
If you ask the question: "Which is better, America or canada? vote now!" and you put a shitload of advertisements of the vote in america, and none in Canada, its not that hard to imagine who would win and have a greater show up.

As it was last year too. So much for mmorpg.com readers choice, since I doubt many of these who read that post at eve-online do anything else than register, vote and while at it could as well rank eve all 10 (because its such great game) and leave for another year.
Wonder how many of these who came from eve-o to vote last year stayed longer than to end of voting and now have forgotten their username and making new one?

As always someone complains... even if it is over something simple like a poll which will have very little effect on them if they're dead set that their game and how supperior it is to everything else that a poll must be broken if it doesn't agree with them.
Well okay a game that your not playing wins an award, this effects you how? How many people subscribe and stick to a game from mmorpg.com simply because of a rating?

Haha yeah. But 2007 really does LOOK better. No guarantee it will deliver better, but at least from this point it has a lot of potential to be much better than 2006. MMOs have such a long production and (hopefully) life cycle, that you do get down years like 06.
Really, what does it matter? Even if EVE wins, no one is going to quit the game they are playing (as long as they are enjoying it, of course) and go plaly EVE just because some web site had a poll and some fans voted EVE to the top.
Overall, I think the votes here are pretty worthless in general as far as conveying anything important.

They all know about the site. How do you think MMORPG.com gets these Free Trial Offers for such things as L2? How do you think they get EQIIs to hand out?
Thing is these forums prove that things aren't balanced. Most of people playing WoW are enjoying themeslves and dont have time to post on any forums other than Blizzards. Meanwhile the EvE fanbois have loads of time while their skills level up by themselves and while they bot mining or whatever, so they post on forums and hype up their boring crappy game. Things arent balanced as illustrated by the ratings.
It's better be hated for who you are, than loved for who you aren't.
I think its pretty pathetic on the part of both CCP and the people playing the game.
Not because of the 'cheating', since this site is a filthy cesspool when it comes to realistic game rankings/awards. But more because now youre on the same level as people whining about crap like this in threads like this.
uhm, well, i play eve, i play it even for a while, but no, i didnt register here for vote only. I think its ok, when some mod or dev announces this, as everyone could do it, and if it wont do them officals some user does it and it gets bumped for the next 3 weeks on the first page of the general forums.
EVE Users are very selfconfident about their game, criticless sometimes, none the less, not every MMO has such a community (when i started 2 years ago, i had a really nice welcome there) and that it has just 150k subs (maybe 95k actual Users, but thats just my thought) and just one server just strongs this. To give an example, yesterday evening was a stress test, the devs called it in one day before, and a lot of people came and made that test, even if they could have earned several million ISK on Tranq in this 3 hours it endured, but we had our fun there and a dev telling later and the feeling of actually improving the game.
This connections in EVE just make it unique from what i experienced and that is what people keeps sticking to and defending CCP and EVE.
