Blizzard is not a dumb company, and i know their next Xpac will ROCK

They know their only worry is warhammer, AOC imo looks like a flop but hey i could be wrong. But warhammer looks like a fierce mmorpg and it looks it can knock WoW off its throne. I know blizzard has a trump card under their sleeve and that card is northrend. The burning crusade is a very nice and well done xpac they could have did better but the xpac was awesome nonetheless. I have a feeling when blizzard releases a northrend xpac its going to be beyond godly. A new xpac according to blizzard will be released every year so a new xpac would be released the same time war comes out.

Cant wait

No doubt That WAR can get Big numbers,  However as long as they don't copy WOW , They will be fine,  They will never have WOW numbers, But they will do fine,  Well, WOW still getting more people, my bet is that They will reach 9 million players soon,  It would be stupid Not to think that Blizzard isn't already developing another MMO, Just think at it,  When WOW starts to loose a high number of players, They will anounce another mmo, it could be a Diablo online, Starcraft,  probably, will be easy to get into it, But have more dept than WOW, and They will dominate again.

Honestly BC was the worst x-pack i ever saw , no free month  (slap in the face).

But really all it did was add 60-70 content. and oh both sides and use pally-shammer, and gemcraft.

    Worst x-pack ever ... EVER .

all of DAOC x-pack (of which they had way too many) gave more than wows first .

JTL the SWG x-pack was amazing , it didn't even effect the real game much but it gave you something else to do , and was fun.

NWN x-pack had level content kinda like bc did , however, they added , new classes and other things that gave people new experience.

BC was the same game same experience ... nothing changed. It all should have been a free patch for what people got.

No offensive but saying bc was good make you a FANBOY, or a person who just has not played a lot of games that have x-packs, which is ok, but look around before asserting it was good.

Yea, let Blizzard add Northrend to the game, allow the Lich King to be beaten, and award somebody with Frostmourne so they game can be even more out of balance than it is now. The lore would be offically cut off and dead.

It is really hard to tell soon there will be alot of competition, you also may want to consider there is stargate worlds and for sci fi fans that probably will be the next big thing for them. Age of conan just looks awesome have you seen any of the videos? And lets not forget chornicles of spell borns new system of leveling that may be very appealing.

I'm not gona say WoW sucks.. blyzzard amde a excellent polished MMORPG's. eventhough i dont liek the game i dont deny that.

Now i wont say either that they dont have to worry about anything else but WAR... people need ot understand that LOT of people jsut keep playing WOW simply because the last monthese  no real MMORPG that could even hope to compet with such a game was released ( i dont blame the dev though.. got to know what your doing with all the money involved).... WAR,  AOC, AION and probably some  unespected surprise ll come and i predict the  MMORPG market will change when those come..

Most of them are trying to explore the  only part where blyzzard really screw up.. the PVP.

I could be wrong.. but we ll see ^^

The winner isn't the one with the most amount of subscribers, WoW is the biggest bomb on that front ever. But WAR I know will be the next big thing that people will talk about.

I don't expect all too many to switch from WoW to WAR because WoW is a game on it's own and there are sooo many fanboys playing it who have put too much time in it they wouldn't ever dream of leaving it. No matter what game that comes.

No matter what happends WAR will not have a positive impact for Blizzard. Since they indeed are going to loose subscribers.

Ofcourse the winner is the one with the most subscribers. when talking about the "Big thing"  in a franchise, it means the game that is the most popular, the most played, and the one that received the most media attention, and WAR will be neither of those. WAR is not a challenger. Fantasy Warhammer setting isn't that popular among video gamers. WAR doesn't have the franchise of Warhammer, and Mythic doesn't have the company recognition of Blizzard. Millions of gamers were actually VERY excited about the announcement of the new alliance race in the Burning Crusade. Loads of gamers were waiting for blizzard to open its mouth and say which race will join the alliance. Only very few people cared when Mythic announced the races.

WAR will do fine, no doubt about that. I'm sure they will reach a nice 150k~250k subscribers, if not a few more. But it will always live in the shadow of World of Warcraft, just like every other MMORPG out there.
  • AoC a flop I doubt. I was waiting on a Northrend expansion but I quit after reaching 70 an seeing where WoW was going. Now even when it does come out I wont buy it. Im done with WoW forever it just isnt fun. I sold my account for 200$ an havent looked back since.

    AoC here I come.

THQ's Warhammer 40,000 will be much more popular, and successful than EA Mythic's base Warhammer.

Nothing can come close to WoW with subs because it's so goddamn centered on being ultra-mega generic. WAR will focus on PvP from the very beginning and that will be what the game is about.

Sub numbers can be so many things, they can be pure coinsedences. I expect WAR to receive a greater SCORE than WoW. If not equally as WoW.

Mythic are not afraid to drop simple stuff that so many people think are obvious to the games. Stuff like dancing and healers. It's very brave and encouraging to see something "new" for once. A company not going mainstream.

Fantasy settings are indeed the most popular setting for gamers today, what are you talking about? WoW is fantasy and so are 90% of all the other games out there.

Mythic I'd say have a GREATER reputation than WoW today. They know what they're doing since they've already made a very successful MMORPG in their past. And now they seem to be doing exactly everything right since they are widely known as "funny people" who cares about their customers. I don't think there are too many out there who doesn't know who Paul Barnett is. And I cannot come up with a company that has had such positive attitude towards devs before.

I doubt WAR will receive the same score as WoW. Mythic has never been able to rival Blizzard in terms of quality.

Maybe in your opinion Mythic has a greater reputation then blizzard, but the general gaming community doesn't agree with you by a long shot. Blizzard has always been known for its high quality RTS games. Starcraft and Warcraft are considered the national sports in Korea for crying out loud, and Blizzards reputation went through the roof with World of Warcraft.

Also, I wat not talking about the fantasy genre, I was talking about Warhammers fantasy setting.

I may sound like a Mythic hater, but honnestly, I'm not. I'm also curious the direction which they are going with WAR. but at the same time, I will also stay realistic.

No, nobody is going to rival wow in its prime when it comes to subs, but by the time WAR comes out with games like The Chronicles of Spellborn, Lord of the Rings Online, Pirates of the Burning Sea, Pirates of the Caribbean, Gods and Heroes, Warhammer, Age of Conan, and even Vanguard getting patched up, you would be ignorant to think that those games wouldn't take a bit of their players.

Hello? EA owns Mythic, there is no "Mythic Team" anymore, might be some of the same people, but EA has already pushed their influence, its a done deal. Mythic couldnt even begin to afford to get the rights to Warhammer, AND completely develop the game in a timely manner without the finantial backing of its parent, EA.

Warhammer is extremely popular. The tabletop game. So was WarCraft the strategy game.

Warhammer is said to have sold about 90 million units per year! You can imagine how many people who play it then.

I don't really understand why you go on and say stuff like "Mythic has never been able to rival Blizzard in terms of quality". Does that mean that they cannot succeed now? And I truly think DAOC is an extremely well done game and for it's time it was pretty advanced indeed.

WAR will be a huge bomb, and a success to that. Nothing indicates otherwise IMO. I doubt that when it comes, it's gonna be seen as a "worse game than WoW". I think that when people will ask which game they're gonna play people will mostly responce with WAR and WoW.

I'm sorry Gameloading,  but I think you're wrong on this one.   You underestimate the power of good PvP.  WoW's pvp = completely meaningless shit.   Warhammer's PvP should be awesome coming from the makers of a great PvP game (DAoC).   I'd be willing to bet a paycheck Warhammer will grab at least 1 million subscribers and you can quote this later if ya want.
