You people need to get over it for gods sake.
While I am mad about what Lucas Arts Made SOE do to SWG back in 2005 and 2004, moaning and whining over it and w/e else you're doing is a waste of time.
You kids and adults seem to forget that LEC controls what SoE develops for SW:G.
You blame and flame and scream at SOE....but one in a thousand complains that it was Lucas Arts/LEC fault for wanting to attract the Numbers that WoW draws.
I am just soooo tired of you people harping on what SOE did to your game. One would think by reading the threads in the Veteran's Refuge that you people have no life away from the Computer.
So...there is the Gauntlet.

When was the last time anyone here actually Logged INTO SW:G?
Pre-2006?
Expertise for Spy or Smuggler?
Chapter 6 AI Combat adjustment?
Chapter 7 The Return of Aurilla, Dathomir, Heroics and Collections?
Chapter 8 Space Collections and ISD Heroic?
Anyone here take advantage of the 14 or 21 Day Trials? Or the Buddy Program?
Anyone actually Log in to see how active Bria or Starsider or Chilastra or Gorath or Intrepid is currently?
Or are all of you so bitter that your too chicken to log in and find that you might actually enoy it?
I Am a 9 Time Elder on Intrepid. I have the ORH. I have Completed the fate of the galaxy quest for the Shard of Retribution. I also have over 120 Badges.
I am sick of seeing you people not move on or grow a clue.
Play SW:G or play something else. Quit complaining about something that happend Over 2 years and 2 months about at minimum. And if some of you are still pi55ed over the Cu....well....Log in....the game is difficult and takes thought.

It's not just that they need to move on.
There is a lot of cool CONTENT that they are missing out on because they can't take a minute and give it a try.
99% of the People that played SW:G and left because of the CURB or NGE or whatever the reason was can afford to Blow 15 bucks to try this game now for 30 days or until they get bored with it.
2 new Jedi Crystals, New specials and procs, SEA's are back in stackable ways...
I will admit to being an Elder Ranger for Life....but after over 1100 days on my main server I am still having Fun with the game.
And I still catch a forum ban for telling Sony what I think.
Come back...its Fun again.

Am in game right now waiting to finish buffing for an ImpStar Quest run.
I earned 1million xp today with my Pilot grinding out Duty Missions in Dant space for Vortex squadron to get L8.
Right now I have my second account dual logged for afk grinding at the escaped wookiee camp in the High Ground of the Ryatt Trail....macro looting and leveling to 90.
My Trader made 25m selling a Shard of Retailation today among other sundries.
I needed a breath of air and to Eat dinner.

I think the SOE fanbois need to get over the fact that we haven't gotten over it.
I suppose I qualify as one of those angry forum vets, though I don't really say much on these forums because I just don't care to waste my breath anymore. SWG has failed on its own just fine.
For the record, I have a station access pass, and about a month ago, I logged into SWG to see what's left. The crafting system is more or less intact, which is good. But the NGE is still in full force, and despite my efforts, I just can't get into it.
I'm still upset about how the game changed, though I won't go into it because obviously those reasons have been repeatedly stated here.
MMORPG.com created a separate forum for us former SWG players to remember the good times as we see them. Or perhaps, the better times, as no time was really that good no matter how much we would like to remember it.
So why come to this forum just to stir up trouble? Why throw a rock at the hornet's nest?
Most of us, like myself, have moved on. We just sometimes like to come here and talk about our former SWG days. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
After all, we certainly aren't the first posters on MMORPG.com to bitch about something we don't like.

You just dont get it. I logged in about a month ago and played for an hour I couldnt stand the bugginess or the crappy UI. Not to mention the one thing (Skill tree style) that would cause me to sub is no longer there. Instead its a poorly done wow rip-off, and the combat is rediculous I have to hit three different buttons in order to lock on and auto attack what lame crap is that. At least in TR they did it right.

I last logged in in Sept. on my main account as it was free, but I made a trial account in early December.
First, the way I see it is both logos are on the box I bought so both companies are responsible. I just care who gets the job done, and so far neither company has made the intiative to further the MMO industry.
Second, I will say this. SWG is on the SOE station pass, and that makes SOE the obvious target for critisim
Third, I personally don't know what others consider a "life", but I'm content with my own.
As I've said I made a trial account in December. I forced myself to level a toon as far as I could, and that was to 16. At that time not a single person talked to me. I found that there was little to no social interactivity with anyone as everything I needed was given to me by the game(i.e. armor, cash, vehicle...etc). I found my toon to be uninteresting and uninspiring as virtual ever other person of the same class was a clone of each other - but that's not to say that there were many other people around anyway.
You claim that the game is different, and I will grant you that it is different from the NGE's inception, but it is still based on the core NGE system of levels and loot, and that simply doesn't work for me. It's an antiquated system that is stuck in stagnation. As a matter of fact I'm starting to think that 90 levels are too much and that there should be only 1 level, seeing how that system works for Counterstrike and TFC so why not SWG?
One of the things the NGE represents to me is the lowering of the bar in terms of what an MMO can be. In doing what SOE/LA has done they've both set this industry back several years IMO, and that I believe is what all of us should be concerned about.

the fact that it is gone a long time ago. honestly most of us wouldn't return to any version of the game hosted by soe. i for one feel it is my duty to let others know about the terrible history of the game/companies involved

I know I tried one of the trial accounts... I played it for a couple hours and that was it. I hated the space apsect (which you couldn't avoid) and the combat was not in my style.
As for angry? No, I'm not angry. I just want to make sure no other developer EVER considers such a 'revamp' of a mature and established game ever again.

I've yet to find this "active" server you speak of... I mean ya people still buy stuff off my vendor.. but the server hasn't been what I'd call active in a long time.
So please do share.. where all these hundreds of people are... so I can take a screen shot.

I played since release I came back in chpt 5, the game is better now than any of the slash and hack games I'm enjoying the game again! So grow up, you comments are flame bait good night to you please have bad dreams.

Right, I was trying not to bring the current level of player into the conversation, but yeah. The grinding is so bad now that cheating is at an all time high.

It was LA who forced the hand of SOE. You do have to remember that and get Lucasartssucks.com too and inform people of how they can completely overhaul a system and force an untested system into play, and then abandon SOE when in an hour of need.
People really need to know that SOE was perfectly happy with the CU, and did not want to push the NGE, but was simply there for in game testing for possible release until LA saw it and wanted that to be the game which then fucked it for everyone.
