These polls I'm running are unofficial, but I'm trying to get a good idea how Age of Conan is doing. All comments are welcome, but I'm mostly concerned with your current status.

When Vanguard came out I have actually played it till my free month was over, AoC I have canceled (and never logged back in) after 3 weeks.
Just for reference, I want to state that I haven't subscribed, but intend to at a later date. I'm currently doing lots of reading across the web on the status of bugs and development.
Regardless of how good or bad it might be, I will try this MMO so I can be more informed when I review it later in the year.

you know god doesnt like liars because that is so far fetched that i nearly pooped my pants. Vanguard wasnt even playable and yet you claim you played till month was over. HA its funny how people come in here to diss AoC. I see the problem with AoC and its a problem that will be fixed. Not much to do when you get to level 47ish and you have to grind. Which unfortunetly not many people like to do witht he combat system of AoC. This game is defenitly not grind friendly. to much work to get barely anything will make anyone go mad so i understand why you quit but dont say you played vanguard for 30days. thats just retarded. the only way you played this game would of been to have logged in every patch day to see if they fixed somthing and you realized they didnt. and logged back off.
Arf!!! wrong vote.
I chancelled already. Pushed the one above !!!
Small bug....
Oh well.... It will be fixed in version 4.5 !!
Polls on these forums are generally useless.
Think what you want, or better mail SOE and ask. I still think that AoC is better (just duller) game then Vanguard. And yes Vanguard was bloody unstable (which is totally opposite of AoC which run flawlessly for me (no sarcasm here, I really mean it)). You may have a tiny point though, I may have played AoC for more hours total in the 3 weeks I was playing it then I did Vanguard in 1 month.
PS. Please chill and do not take it personally - we are discussing a video game here, I have merely voiced my opinion (which I swear is true), I did not run over your cat in my steam roller yelling vulgarisms about your mother.
Cancelled due to every class having the same newbie experience in Tortage. I like to feel out half a dozen options of classes before I settle on one to level as a main... The same running around Tortage for 5 characters has me tired.
I'll probably come back some time around the fall but for now I am re-visiting some old friends and having a blast in Vanguard.

Now if MMORPG.com had a rolling poll average on your AoC subscription, I'd be able to isolate outliers, find a standard deviation, and otherwise get a real graph about AoC's trend.
I would love to see a line chart of subscribers to AoC. That would be the ultimate. If any of you have that information, please provide a link. (I figured AoC would never release that info).

my sub runs up on the 20th, I have canceled effective that date..honestly, this game has NOTHING new, its nothing but eye candy. its the worst quest grind ive ever seen in an MMO with so little player content I just have no reason to play! Im going to go back to vanguard and EvE while I wait for some kind of news that might peek my interest in AoC again, but in the end I just dont think its designed to be that tyoe of game. It was specifical designed to draw wow players, and I sure as hell am not one of those....cheers!

I think we all would love to see a chart like that (and not just for AoC to be honest).
It would have been a better poll with better options. For instance, cancelled but still playing till end of my subscription.
Hence, I could not vote.
Bah, you word things wierd. How about this...
Canceled Subscription
Renewed Subscription
Never Subscribed
Oh well, I will vote on someone elses poll instead.
If you cancelled your subscription, I'd like to know how long you gave AoC a try.
If you Renewed your subscription...then you would choose the first option "Subscribed and will continue to play."
If you never subscribed, I'm interested in knowing if you still want to play or not.

That was option number 2: "Subscribed: Currently playing AoC, but will not resubscribe".

" Thats none of your damn business, and I'd thank you to stay out of my personal affairs! "
A cookie to whoever knows where that line came from.
Seems like that would be Ace Ventura. WWW ftw.

never subs because:
easy to explain: preordered the CE (yeah the Collector Edition of AOC so i 'm not a hater I think)
then i 've been in the Beta and discovered the state of the game and most of all the gameplay (can bear the bugs, can wait etc but the gameplay can 't be changed)
SO canceled my preorder. That's all.
Won't play this game because of lot of things: heavily instanced, invisible walls, decapitation isnt' enough for a MMO ok ? Canceled because of the poor IA of the mobs, etc etc etc. Quest boring, nothing more than Wow's BG....
Currently playing on and off not sure if I will continue or not. So tired of these hack and slash mmos.
Sure, killing for the sake of killing has its place, but to really get immersed in a game, I like to have ways to interact with the community (besides crafting and auctions) and events.

Cancelled my sub today, wont be renewing unless a miracle patch gets released.
I currently have 3 mains - level 27, 28 and 52 so I have seen my fair share of what the game has to offer. Why did I quit, simple:
Performance - this game has serious frame rate issued for many users no matter how large their rig is - read the main forums its not isolated to a few people. I have bad fps in some areas, REALLY bad but my PC can run any modern game and play vanguard, eq2, lotro, gears of war, etc, etc. I have to run this game at pitiful settings which make it looks worse than many MMO games several years old.
Bugs - from broken quests (wandering child anyone) to client crashes when zoning to mouseover crashing on gemmed items - this game has a vast array of bugs. A recent patch screwed up tree foilage and clipping around trees causing object to vanish onscreen. Last 2 sets of patch notes say gemmed items are fixed, but they arent - call that testing.
Travel - far too much travelling, especially in some later quests, horses cant be afforded at a reasonable level unless you mass farm cash with your guild and instance farming is now borked since the last patch due to difficulty changes. The preorder rhino and mammoth are a joke for speed, you may as well stay on foot and a hit from a grey mob can knock you off.
Lack of content in later levels - many complaining that after mid 50s the quests etc start to run dry. Havent got past mid 50s yet but my personal experience of the quests is that the earlier ones are better. The level 50 destiny quest was short, had a crap cloak for a reward and was nowhere near as immersive as the early quests.
Balance issues - some classes are just plain awful, I have a friend with an assassin - cant take many hits, deals crap damage, dies every 5 minutes. If you read the class forums there are allsorts of class balance issued and bugs with skills - necros skills dont scale properly for instance, and some skills on some classes plain dont work.
WTF were funcom thinking when they release AoC, because this game was NOT ready for a full release and I forsee the subscription base falling rapidly once the free month is gone (half my guild has already stopped playing regularly). They also need to start testing their patches because they look like amateurs at the moment.
Its a crying shame...
This game is a failure. But I sure do love those ardent defenders that will watch it go down in flames.
-Not an mmo
-far too instanced
-crap balance
-awful pvp
-horrid graphics
-waaay too much lag
-no players in the world
Well there are players in the world, its just they are scattered across the many zone copies :P
There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
Didn't see an option but my status at the moment is subscribed and undecided if I will resubscribe or not. I enjoy playing the game but at the same time there are a few matters that bother me. Customer support is horrid and for me that is very big. The level of communication is just not there. Questions aren't answered, posts are deleted, etc. Of course there are the bugs but that's going to happen with all releases. That includes the lack of content. I remember folks screaming that during every launch these past years including WoW. That's easily added.
But when you add eveything together that is a lot of patching in the end. Quests, unbalanced classes, pvp having no purpose, etc. In the end what hit me was the other night there was to be a RP event. Figured I'll go ahead and see how it goes. Well...they chose to do it in a certain instance so I look for it and realize I'm not in it (you can switch to the 'instance' in the drop down list) and have to move somewhere (rez point) to select it. So I move there....too late. The instance is capped and I can't attend. Sorry, but that just doesn't fly. It handicaps the community and we now have to find ways to work around the system when we shouldn't. Also the issue that the latest two patches have dropped the FPS for a number of people (me included). Went from around 40 FPS to 20 FPS. It's an obvious issue many are having but no one is saying anything to the customer base about what is going to be done.
Yet I'm still undecided. The game is fun, looks wonderful and surprisingly I have came across a very mature community (Wiccana server) I would really like to get involved in. Still there are just so many things that need updating and it would be really nice if they fix the instancing like they stated by increasing the cap number. Who knows. I'm messing around in Vanguard to see what it's like so in a week I better make up my mind. I think AoC still has a lot of potential but time is of course a factor with a number of MMO's on the horizon that many are looking forward to.
Well there are players in the world, its just they are scattered across the many zone copies :P
I think it's like 40-50 players per zone. I guess it's a good thing that there's only 1 zone for level 50-60 players.

I live to fight, and fight to live.
Where is the option "just playing the 30 days and will then resub some time later" ? =o
