First off I doubt it will dent wow population cause wow is still growing.
Second, if you read up on the forums you would know that pvp players from wow don't like the "slow" combat in this game. So I doubt those people will come here. My gueses this game will get about 2 million max people (hopefully more) And no it is not a wow killer. Cause wow is to casual based pve and warhammer is more of a casual/hardcore based pvp game.

Everquest 2 and Lord of the rings online only have about 200k.

My bet is 100k in six months because there is only PVP and PVE and nothing else to do.

100k ? Com'on. A pure PvE game such has LOTRO has 200k. AoC had 800k+ in its first month. Warhammer is almost complete. Has action starting at lvl 1. PvErs with some PvP flavor can enjoy the game. There are tons of things to do, including end game content.
My guess is that Warhammer will have about 1.5m subs in its first month, and around 1m subs in the next year.

Also note, DaoC never was able to out number the total subscription base of EQ, so yeah im sure you will get your wish and NOT have a large player base as the game deserves for being a cookie-cut clone!
Examine GEAR attributes, looks the same, EVEN the layout is almost identical to how WoW displays GEAR attributes. NPC with icon/symbol over their heads, all but the icon is the same! Interface Layout, its almost identical in layout that EVEN THE QUEST TEXT is below the RADAR!!! So yeah, they look so much alike that they even made the acronym 3 Letters!!

Every MMO out there are similar, because they are all MMOs. If you play a FPS you look through the character's eyes and pew pew stuff. It's the same for each FPS because they all are under the FPS domain.
If you play an MMO they share most of the same stuff because they are all MMOs. No one will bother to re-invent the wheel here, why would they? They are making an MMO, not XYZ game.
If you call War a WoW clone it only shows that you have spent 631415 hours of playing time to get stupid worthless WoW gear which will be obselete the next patch, and you are scared that War will be much more fun than WoW.

But I often read here discussion about that MMORPGs need more innovation, and when there is something experimental like PotBS released by some indie-devs, it flops. Ok, maybe the execution wasn´t the best. THough I think, this scares the big shots in the MMO-bizz away.

Like what? i play CB and with the exception of RvR all of it is the same exept dressed up in a different skin;
PvP/RvR - Same.
Quests - Same.
Gear - Same.
Levels - Same.
Abilities - Same, even cool downs!
The so called Masteries - Same, they even have 3 TABS like WoW has 3 per class! Geeez
I could go on, but im afraid you may not understand the point im trying to make ... Then again, ill put it out for you and help you 'grow' abit more;

Not sure you may understand that, chances are you still drive the first car you purchased (if your even old enough) as progression may be out of your intel scope.
I won't be playing it as I'm bored with theme park mmo's but I think it will be a massive seller and will probably go over 1 million subs.
A lot of people are bored with WoW and are looking something else, WAR is very similar and it will attract them.
I'm not sure that it's going to have the staying power to keep them long term though. Firstly it looks like it might get boring quite quickly and secondly it's similarities to WoW could be the seeds of it's own downfall after a few months.
Edit: To people who are saying it's not a WoW clone, you really need to broaden your horizons a bit.
