Why do you keep making premature judements on the fix? The games always "fine" (for MO) after a reboot, with or without AI.
Its just like everyone in IRC yesterday... ITS FIXED ITS FIXED!!! A few hours later... WTF LAG LAG LAG.

The problem is that there is NO magic fix. The problem is that they have had to learn on the fly as they go. Unfortunately for them, that means that many of the basic system which had to be built first.. have the most issues. The Database is an example of this. They have had to build on top of their weakest systems/programs.. so while the stuff at the top might be OK.. the stuff it's all built on is like sand. You know what happens when you build on sand....

Yes, you are correct. They are adding stuff randomly, no real solid plan or strategy. This type of stuff should have been fixed in the closed beta.
The lag is still there, blatantly. If you leave town and go somewhere quiet its not too bad at all. But you can't stay out of town in this game atm. Hence it's still unplayable, 20 minutes to use the bank or split you piles is obviously unacceptable.
If they are saying that the lag reduces greatly when turned down/off whatever, then IMO, its because their server cluster nowhere near what it should be, probably due to lack of money.

Just look up 1 post at the log I just posted, he says the server is running good.

Hmm? You keep updating yourself... are you hoping for some attention? Server is still under testing but since they removed the AI and returned it the lag has been very minimal and the game is very playable.

Yes, I am keeping this thread updated. And its not playable during the day once everyone gets on, it works ok at night because no one is online. I am reading IRC right now and people are complaining about minutes of lag.
Before the server went down last night, I had been on for about 3 hours without a crash.
I managed to harvest ~~ 12800 Firmwood to be used for crafting. I was located in Bakti, south on this map, and a bit South East of Vadda. There were about 10-15 people around this area all harvesting, crafting, and talking. Even traded a guy 2000 wood for a full set of leather armor.
I started a new character as a Horse Herder, and placed that character in Vadda.
There was significantly more lag, but not unplayable. There were ~~ 30-40 people sitting at the spawn and around it farming. I noticed about 15 more on my way out of town, and a few more guys standing outside dueling.
I crashed once, about 5 minutes out of town. Logged back in and continued to tame pigs and buffalo.
My first character was a scout, the second one is a horse herder. Within 20 minutes I had the skills necessary to tame a horse... and will be trying that out tonight.

Last night was in the middle of the night when no one was playing?

I guess it's my word against yours.
My guildmate was also on for a few hours. He experienced more problems with crashing, but did also notice lag was significantly better outside of Vadda and down in Bakti.
Look, populated areas seem to be the main source of lag... they are trying to fix it.It's the same story we've seen in many other MMOs since the days of EQ/UO... and it more than likely will play out the same: It gets better as time goes on.
Small places like Bakti, or other towns away from spawn areas do much better. The AI is also responding better than it used to.

It was about 6:30 MST till about 10:30 MST in total.
Server went down about 10:15 and I stayed to give it a few minutes. I believe it was primetime for people here in the US.

So you are stating that the main focus of an MMORPG is something we can not do in Mortal Online? Social player interaction in a large city? Looks like SV really forgot the first three letters of the genre...
Comments
Wrong, lag is still there. Look at the logs I posted. AI was not the cause but it does add to the lag.
SV really doesn't have a clue. Its the DB, um no! Its the AI, um no! Its aliens...
AI has been disabled again.

I just logged in a bit ago and noticed this....
I'm not sure "Rebuild AI" was what they were referring to... more like tweak and then put back out there.
Yea. It isnt possible to rebuild AI code that fast. They probably saw which processes were causing the lag and disabled them.
Edit : Or not after reading the unread replies.
