Henrik and Sebastian say a lot of things, and have been saying a lot of things, since the closed beta started. None of it matters. They make assumptions about the code without actually testing changes, release it, then leave for the day or weekend, or go on holidays.

Things like the desync/lag can not be tested inhouse, so saying their patch "fixes" it, is just unprofessional. Again they have been saying such things since day one.

They say it's possibly the AI.. that's what they say every time there is a problem. Then they disable it, and cheer about how the problem "went away", claiming it's fixed. Then as soon as they re-enable it.. back to square 1.

The promised features barely exist, and those that do, do not work or are very buggy. There has been little improvement since the start of the closed beta, in fact. The only difference is the existence of gear (which doesn't work very well), the skill system (which doesn't work very well) and the AI (need I comment on that?), and the new areas they open up.

That is brilliant. They can't get the basic game with placeholders working right, and they are going to put in so called features right at the end, without any kind of intense testing that their work so far has proved they absolutely require? The "cool" features that are "held back" don't actually exist, they have been fighting to fix the problems with what's already in the game for what, half a year now?

Faith is all that the game has at the moment. And their community managers seem intent on destroying that last bit of loyalty for many of their potential customers.

They don't really seem to know what they are doing, really, and come off as a bunch of just out of college buddies who got together to try making one of those mmo things they have been hearing about.

Sadly I agree.  They released skill books and for some people they didn't show up and for others they did. . this was not fixed for days.

How are the big awesome game changers going to be once they drop them in untested.   Time to test is running out.  The last big content patch opened up some land that was just not accessible before and added more weapons etc.  This is what they had to add?

If that is all they have that is bad.  If they are holding out on a lot of things. . that is also bad.

It does make me laugh how ppl expect a polished game in beta?? yes it is OPEN beta but it is still a beta, this is not your typical themepark open free preview beta it is open yet it is to be tested not an interpretation of what the finished product will be, Yes there is alot of shit that needs to be added but they are not bound by any 1 to have to release it by a certain date, unless it is for money reasons, which i don't think that is the case, if they have to push back release i could care less so long as they get things right, everyone getting worked up about how things are not there as they stated, well answer me this, did they say that that shit would be in the game right now??? No they didn't the game is not released yet so stop with the wholedribbling bullshit about how they have not kept there promise till the game is released, if then the shit is not there then you can whine while we play.

I think the fact that they have trouble with the smaller items and it has taken this long to fix them is still a good predictor of what larger content and feature adds might be.  If they can fix the game as is it would be fun enough that I would play it.  I think that expecting there to be a tonne of new things added at release is also pathetic.

They said Q4 last year. . then said it would be a month behind. . how Q1 release for this year.  Not a lot of things have changed.  I get being optimistic but Sebastien said last week that they didn't know what was causing the DB lag.  This is after quite a bit of time.

They also stated in a press release that the OB was the first part of their "release" of the game.  Maybe this was just a translation issue but still.  UO beta was long and even it was only about 3 months.  They had major issues but they fixed them.

This is a small team.  From what I understand they  need to release soon.  This has been stated regularly and they have not denied it.

If they are going to pull something out of their arse now is the time to do it.

The last patch did not fix the lag/desync problem.  That has been about 4 or 5 patches now that said they will fix the problem, but it is still there.

I dont expect a polished game in an open beta.. However I do expect a game that I dont know... WORKS. I dont expect a game to be broken beyond belief in an open beta.

Yeah  I logged in. . got attacked by a pig that I could not see.  When I finally could see it far off I targeted and tried to tame.  I got a message saying that I could not use that skill on that (creature/oblect).   Finally I decided to attack the pig because it was still hitting me.  I turned grey. . it turned blue.  I never got any taming messages at all but it was now tamed.  I logged out.  I will wait for the next patch.

We're always left waiting on the "next patch".   10 patches into the open beta and this issue still persists.

Yeah at this point I guess what I mean is, if i find out they do patch. . and I wait a day or so and read that it is fixed I will try again.  Ambitious project. .and they are close. . but they are near a point I think where they need to get this one issue under control.  If they fix it and launch right away People will not be willing to try it out based on faith.  If they can fix it and keep the open beta going a bit longer . . enough for people to try it out again that might help them sell some copies. . If they fix it.

The patch on the 8th has made the game laggier than before it was released.  Multiple patches now that were suppose to fix the lag but it is still there...

When are they going to fix it?

Looks like these modders are in over their head. They probably thought they could just mod in some MMO stuff and be done with it.

You must stop adding features if you expect to debug the ones you already have.

The beta always felt laggy, people blammed it on "debug mode" but now it seems that it was not the debug mode they just have a network problem or their server is over loaded.

The "old debug mode" has been used in EVERY poor performing beta I've been in. (after the NDA was been lifted)

Its ALWAYS the same come release.

If at first you don't succeed.

“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

bumping due to the patch breaking more than it fixed.  lag is still there and the horses and banking are now broken.

I just have to wonder if it's not on Epics end, why are they the ones hammering out the issue?

I've been wondering about this ever since I read MMORPG.com's article. It specifically states "Epic" is hard at work hammering out the issue, a fix is expected by next week.

They hired staff in China to work on the Epic issues.  That was from yesterday, did not think it good enough to take screen shots of that part of the log.
