you don't need the devs to provide you with gay marriage. I actually saw some weddings in AOC. It only takes 2 players and perhaps another one who si going to roleplay the witness. It is simple as that.

Pure GW2 forum pollution, threads like this. Should have been put in the overall General discussion, outside of games sections.

I gotta tell ye people, if the OP was intended to troll (which I half suspect),  he must be rolling over the floor trying to suppress stomach pains from laughing now.

I vote for the following threads to be created:

    - Will there be gay marriage in WoW with CATA?

    - Will there be gay marriage in TERA?

    - Will there be hot animal loving in FFXIV?

    - Will there be group marriage in DCUO, and if so, will it be heroic?

    - Will you be able to 'do' your Companions in SW:ToR, or do you have to marry them first? Will there be hot droid lovin'?

    - Can you create a free-sex, orgy orientated, pagan commune in LotrO when it goes F2P?

You've obviously never been the the Shire on a Saturday Night.

Not going to read all of this, but:

    1. Being gay is not illegal.

    2. As long as no laws are being broken then you have no right to tell anyone what they can and can't do.

    also:

marriage may be 'sacred' to your religion, but its not exclusive to your religion.

But people who dont approve of gay marriage in rl are gonna be out of luck. Speaking from the US side of things, it took time for women to get full rights. It took time for blacks to get full rights. Gays are next. Learn to live with it.

You may want to actually do a bit of research before making an uneducated statement like that. While I feel that what two or more consenting adults do with each others fiddly bits is their own business and none of anyone else's, there are still states in your country with laws that can and do punish homosexuals with a hefty fine and even jail time. The same goes for other countries across the world. In fact in same places on the globe being gay can outright get you killed. Do I think such a thing is right or moral? Hell no, but last time I checked people weren't marionettes that exist solely to dance to my will.

I have to say we both see eye to this one. Unfortuanatly it also isn't against the law for these people to formulate an opinion we disagree with, provided no law is broken. No matter how narrow minded and biggoted we may feel their opinion to be they still have every right to like or dislike anyone they so choose provided once again they do not infinge on another individual's rights.

Again, I personally have no problem with people choosing who they love, marry, have sex with. Its none of my business. However I also don't have the right to tell other individuals what they should feel, think, or believe. To do so would actually be acting like a bigot.

you are allowed to hate gays and wish they less rights all you want. what you may not do is take action to prevent them from enjoying all the same rights anyone has.

marrying a consenting adult of their choice is what this thread is about.  why are people still pouring in to question the point of ANY marriage in a game?

go make some other thread for that topic. this thread is about whether or not gay marriage derserves the same recognition as straight marriange, in MMO's.

Its sexuality pushed down peoples throats and a lot of people don't enjoy that.

Why would they have to list it? Marriage is marriage, they dont have to specify ''strait' marriage, gay marriage'. Marriage is marriage. By excluding a portion of the population you are having 'sexuality pushed down people's throats', not vice versa.

Being straight, and christian, I wanted to say that Gay Marraige should be a right for anyone/group... gay or straight...  Secondly, if there were a Gay Marraige mechanic, and let's say that it grants both partners a bonus to their stats, then sign me up for my Gay Wedding!  Simply because it will gain me a stat advantage in pvp.  Any stat bonus for utalitarian purposes is okay in my book.

    There's food thought, heh.image

Yes, you're right, what was I thinking?

Because a 'gay marriages in GW2' thread isn't irrelevant at all and makes so much more sense, let alone the thread beating all other GW2 threads in post count.

Im not telling people here how they should feel, think or believe with that comment.Accepting it and learning to live with it are two different things. There are probably still Americans out there that feel women or blacks shouldnt be allowed to vote, but they have to learn to live with it.

You people have gone way, waaaaay offtrack, making the thread some sort of 'gay rights' discussion.

It's far besides the subject of the OP, which when you look closely at it was nothing more than a troll post: a troll trap for which most of you fell with both feet and both eyes open. GJ

Yeah, we know, and it doesn't matter if the OP made a troll trap, the fact of the matter is that there is a legitimacy to the subject matter nonetheless... just by the heated debate... but hey, debate I think is healthy, at least it gets people talking about it, rather than sweep things under the rug and turn a blind eye.

As a Gay Christian...I just gotta say that this thread delivers very nicely. I wonder how much more crazy we can pack into this one before the mods come with the lock.

If God didn't support gay marriage...why would he allow this to happen?

Besides the OP being a troll post, the topic and the direction of the discussion has nothing at all  to do with GW2, and belongs clearly in the Off-Topic section of mmorpg.com.

     who cares?

millions and millions of people care, one way or the other.  this thread alone has inspired 26 pages of comments in just over a day.

thanks for letting us know that YOU dont care, but we werent standing around just waiting for YOU to take the time to let us know it doesent matter to you.

    thanks for the nonimput though.

Dragon Age handled this issue the best way.  without making a statement one way or the other, they simply allowed the game to play out identically for all characters, regardless of gender.   it wasnt a GAY thing, it just let you play out the romantic bit without making any kind of deal about gender.  this is what all games should do in this regard.

no one is asking for a specific "gay marriage" option, just if there is any marriage option, it should be totally without gender constraints, like everything else in the world.
