Lol its GW2 who cares. So man rants trolls etc. This is a game not real life hold your own ceremony and while your doing that im gonan find a way to flag you for pvp and wipe the wedding party for wasting time doing bs you should do in rl when you should be in the arena fighting.

I agree with you on the marriage but come on the pet is just sitting right there not like any1s gonna know. Look at it like this its just some literal bonding between master and pet its natural.

It will ruin my explorer/hero moment and in general it'll just creep me out...

But gay mariage to me is a form of freedom, since you don't hurt anyone by just stating that you are gay, it should be allowed everywhere on the real world by a declaration of the UN and human rights organisations..
Game makers should encourage this, so i hope that we will see gay mariages in GW2, tough i personally don't see any reason for me to ever make use of this feauture.
((Tough i happen to play female characters from time to time, and now i think about it i could envision me roleplaying playing a lesbian male hating rogue, which could be triggered to mary another female character))

US made games usually have 4th of july celebrations like the whole world is a subsidiary of American Empire and we should all bow to it. What of it then? What about christmass? Christ, If we went around catering to every minority (or majority) culture this game might get in contact with you'd just get a mess. And what about world cohesion and lore? They can have their gay marriage,just have your own channel so we don't have to read about it in GC. Why dose the OP need to make an issues out of it, have your gay marriage in game and no one will even know about it or do you want to parade yourselves through the main city hubs.

The OP say GW2 will probably support marriage..hello! any mmorpg let's you get married it's not a game feature it's a choice you can make in game with you partner. GW2 won't have special systems to support marriages it's really is up to you if you choose to do that.

You might want to turn on a television. Or open a magazine. Or drive down a road that has billboards. See how long you can do that before you are confronted by some form of heterosexuality.

You seem to think that you can be "ok" with another group of people, so long as they don't have the same rights that you have or seek to exercise those rights. That's not how it works.
I have represented quite a few people who are gay. It's amazing to me this attitude of "ok fine be gay but be gay really quietly where no one will ever know." Would you be willing to live that way? Who else should be relegated to this lower status? How about a religious group? Yes you can be Catholic just don't talk about it or make any cathedrals?
A person has rights in a free society, or they don't. You can't tell people you are "ok" with them provided they go and stay out of your sight.

There is NO marriage in the game, neither hetero or gay, as far as we know.
If they decide to put marriage in the game than I'm cool with there being gay marriage, and I believe I share this view with most posters here.
However, if they put marriage in the game just so that gays can flaunt it then it is 1) pathetic for the gays because if they want to be same as everyone else then they're most definitely not acting like it with pushing their agenda aggressively/defensively and thus showing the underlying weakness and insecurity and b) discriminatory towards other "minorities" because why then can't I have my ganja, hannukah or ceremonial 3-foot penis cone I inherited from my grandpa?

Is it really important that a game supports things like marriage? Even if not, it's not that it would prohibit people from meeting online with their partner and friends and perform a "marriage ceremony". There are lots of private and public places in MMOs so that shouldn't be an issue. You can make screenshots and stuff and what not. Have a good time with your friends and partner. Depending on the crafting system of the game, it could be possible to create wedding gifts by in-game means.

To stop these types of useless post's all they need to do is cut out the marriage part from the game..Or if they really want to get married have that as a high price item mall special only...I mean after all its only there ""fantasy"" to get married anyway since a lot of states dont allow it in real life for gay marriage..Also the game should not advertise it to the whole server either...It has to be a friend quiet wedding..The rest of us dont need to know...
^^ This. GW is **NOT** an open sandbox game and does not really try to promote a living, breathing world that players create around them. Instead, they have built a very nice living, breathing world for the players to enjoy and partake within a scripted story that the developers created.
So, that being said, how would marraige really fit it within GW's story? Housing performs a usable function. Marraige, straight or not doesn't. Nor does it fit into the storyline of the game.
However, that should never stop players from role playing out their own storylines. Players of WoW have been getting married in game for years. There is no official support or mechanics to do so and players still manage to host estravegant weddings every day.
If you are looking for a title above your head when a player views you ... most people do not want to see that. Once again... straight or not.
I think marriage in games are kinda silly and stupid. Real life marriages is also stupid.
I mean why do you need a ceremony and all that crap. If you love someone that's all you need, you don't need something to tell you that you're in love.

Why would not wanting to be discriminated against be an "agenda" (in the pejorative way you put it) or an "insecurity?"
You say you are not "offended" by other people, which is a curious way of putting it - that you are not offended by anyone who is not just like you. So long as whoever the group is you say you are not "offended" by doesn't do anything in our society that gives notice of who they are or what they believe.
Having rights in a free society doesn't mean that a majority publically enjoys whatever practices they prefer, and the minorities can go quietly have rights behind the doors of their own home. It means everyone has rights and can publically enjoy them.
I say to anyone who thinks that they are ok with gay people, but only so long as gay people never say or do anything to make known that they are gay or want to have the same rights as others, just go ahead and admit you are a bigot instead of promoting this fiction that your views are the product of gay aggression. I too support gay marraige. But, I am tired of seeing the argument of "if you hate gays.. your obviously gay" or something to that effect. Btw, Chimps, that isn't really in direct reference to you.
People who are very religious or ritualistic (tradition and ceremonies) feel threatened when their core beliefs are questions, tested or judged. Instead of accepting that not everyone in the world agrees with their own view point.. they tend to lash out. Very simular to an animal when backed into a corner.
Personally, I share a simular belief to marriage. I got married 10 years ago. No, I am not a hypocrit. After experiencing it first hand, I realized how much of a sham it is. Further promoted by peoples beliefs of how a marriage should be. Usually meaning ... $$$$$$$.
Anyway, the reason why I support gay marraige is not because of gay rights. Gay rights, which I do support, is a double edged sword to me. I don't go around stating that I like women. I think some people would find that awkward with a middle aged man walking down the street shouting that I like women. On the flip side, I don't think ... ANYONE... should feel awkward if a gay couple introduces someone as their boyfriend/girlfriend/husband or wife.
The reason why I support gay marraige is because I would love to see the belief that religion somehow has anything to do with it - goes away. Marraige predates today's religious perceptions and was usually limited to people of an upper caste in whatever society. When rulers started to use religious ceremonies to prove they were ordained by their god is when the two began to become attached at the hip.
Whats next after the Gays? We will see these perverts screaming equal rights and want to walk down the isle with there pet lover Sheep, Baa, Baa to get married next..How about this..Maybe the gays want there own land next..I be all for it..They can have Hawaii a one way plane ticket there..They can do as they want..I know after awhile they will die out since there be no reproduction..

If you are gay or bi (at heart) then you are atleast half gay and thus totally gay
